I guess that I would have to say that a box of collectibles from Super Bowl XXV. In it is a hardcover Silver Anniversity of All-Time Super Bowl Team, it is a collection of football cards of past players and the 1990 AFC and NFC Champions. I also have an unopen packet of NFL Pro Set football cards of both the 1990 AFC and NFC Champions (Bills and Giants), a thick, extensive football program from Super Bowl XXV, a airbrushed Super Bowl XXV tee shirt, three plastic beer cups from that Super Bowl and a flat out ugly zuba Bills' hat. I even have a torn ticket stub from the Super Bowl XXV game. Ah, the memories! I'm surprised how good the shape is of these articles after all these years. I'm actually thinking of putting them on eBay to see if they are really valuable or if I'm just being overly sentimental.

Did we know this? DTs will switch assignments
Tipster19 replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like it. Johnson sounds like he could be our version of the Patriots' Richard Seymour. Versatility on the DL is great but playmakers are even better. Let's hope that Johnson is the playmaker that we have been needing. -
Now that Bentley is thrown in the mix as a replacement for Fowler let me clarify that I was only wondering if Datish would be a good depth player for a back up role who could be developed. There is no comparison between Bentley and Datish. Bentley is well established and expensive and Datish is very raw but super cheap. I'm just wondering if the Bills will take a look at him as a prospect with potential.

It's not earth shattering news but I remember wanting the Bills to draft him. Based on the extent of his injury I wonder if he could be a nice pick up for the Bills. http://www.ajc.com/sports/content/sports/f...lcons_0623.html http://www.atlantafalcons.com/News/Article...Datish_Bio.aspx

In light of our play-off drought in the last several years, the recent off season incidences that have happened to some of our players, and the beginning of the Toronto merge, I was wondering how much of these things might have affected some of our fanbase. Me personnally I'm still extremely happy being a Bills' fan and I'm looking forward to a great, great season for us. I fully expect us to have finally turn the corner this year and have a highly successful season. Are my expectations unrealistic? I sure hope not. Go Bills!

A good person is a good person and you my friend are a good person, period. If you have any doubts, have you ever remember seeing a 5 page thread where everyone is in agreement? 'nuff said, get well and spread some more of that sunshine that you have given to so many of us.

Fred Jackson was on Sirius tonight and amongst the things that he had to say was that Marshawn and him has spent time together doing charitable things in the Buffalo community. They spent time at children hospitals and such. I'm disappointed in his decision making in this whole thing about the hit and run but I don't think that one incident defines him as what kind of person he is, as in anybody else. What I do hope for is that he has learned from this and makes a concentrated effort in growing as a human being. Everybody is capable of making a mistake and using poor judgement. I'm curious in seeing how he conducts himself off the field from this point forward. My impression of him is that he is funloving and a good guy. It's doesn't matter what I or anybody else thinks of him overall but what he thinks of himself. Character is defined in the face of adversity. I think that it's important on how he responds to this unfortunate situation.

Russert - I was never so happy to be sick

RIP Tim Russert

It's almost been a week now and I'm still having a hard time getting past Tim Russert's untimely death. The more that I hear and read about him it becomes even more crystal clear just how missed he'll be. He was/is "Our Voice" not only for Western New Yorkers but also for the American people concerning the politics of this country. The guy was a razor. It's not surprising that he's from Buffalo. His passion and enthusiasm is the first and foremost impression that you notice about him. Here's another of many tributes to Tim but pay attention at around the halfway mark where he puts Hillary Clinton on the money. In his words, "Let's go get 'em!". -
Interesting Will Wolford comments...

If I remember correctly Bruce loathed Bullough and was a one of the ringleaders in underplaying for him. One game against Tampa in particular where Bruce instructed players to lay down. I don't agree nor like the idea of our or even other players throwing games because of attitudes. They are paid players and we the fans are the ones who suffer the most when they only care about their priorities first. -
In Tim's death I have learned what I'm supposed to be and unfortunately I'm falling way short but the good thing is that I'm much more conscious of who I'm supposed to be and I have decided to make a much bigger effort in being a better person. I'd like to start by extending my regrets and/or apologies to anyone that I might have offended or have been rude to on this board. This is a great place to start because we are all very Buffalo oriented and Tim Russert is the epitomy of our community.

You are exactly right brother. I don't "know" him but he has sent me a few kind and gracious PMs that left me feeling like a better person. What a horrible June this has been, especially for the City of Buffalo, the Bills and their fans. I'm in. I don't have much but I'll give what I got. It's people like Tim Russert and Grant that reminds people what they are supposed to be. I echo your sentiments.

That sounds like him, putting his family first and not thinking about himself. Well, when I get my jersey I'm putting #1 on it. -
...who so loved his father that it inspired him to write a book about it. If nobody knew nothing else about him that would be enough.... ...but people did know more about him. They knew that he represented values like integrity, honor, loyalty, humbleness and passion. He wasn't one of us, he is us and exemplies all the goodness that each and everyone of us posess. He was/is a pillar of our community/society. Barbara Walters summed it up best when she stated that "He makes us proud". Tim, when you wrote "President Kennedy was that rare and perfect combination of Christian, father, statesman, peace-maker, author, politician, and last but not least, a friend of the common man", did it ever occur to you that the same would be thought of you? Probably not but it is. When I was a little boy, ten years younger than you, I remember seeing my mother's emotions of horror and shock when JFK was asassinated. Today I share my mother's feelings. Whenever I saw or heard you speak about your roots I would get a great sense of pride and the biggest thrill but today you made me cry, ....alot. There has been many bleak days in Buffalo's quest for a championship but I have viewed you as a bright torch that led a bunch of crazy Buffalo Bill fans in our darkest days. I don't know who will or can be that next torch but I do know that their torch could never burn brighter than yours. I gleefully nominate you as the "Greatest Buffalo Bill Fan". I reflected in your tribute about Don Bebee and when he finally got to experience a Super Bowl victory with the Packers on how he immediately thought about all of us back in Buffalo and how he wished that we too could experience what he was feeling. Well, if the Bills were to win a Super Bowl while I'm alive then I'll repay your loyalty by having you be my first thought in our celebration, it's the least that I could do for you, you greatly deserve it. Thank you for being you. It's a debt of gratitude that none of us could ever compensate you fairly for but you were never about that anyways. I love and admire you for honoring your father and referring to him as "Big Russ" but you my friend, are a gigant. It's so appropiate that tonight the world stopped and admired you for all that you represented. To know that you walked and talked with Presidents and you stood taller is just another testiment to your moral fiber. Even as you exited this earth you still brought pride to all of Western New York one more time for the whole world to witness. You are truly amazing and we are ALL so proud of you. We are going to miss you so much. I don't know how much, if at all, how big of a Bills' fan GOD might be but I do realize this, for HIM taking you so early, HE must be one heck of a big Tim Russert fan! GO BILLS!

???!!! I'm truly blown away by this news. I can't recall a greater ambassador for the Buffalo community. This indeed is a black day for Buffalo and it's citizens. RIP Tim and my thoughts and prayers goes out to your family. -
Who were the other 3 Bills in Marshawn's SUV?
Tipster19 replied to RayFinkle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If I'm not mistaken it was senior's night/ two for one. I'd have to say that it was Marv, Ralph and Dick. Truth be told Ralph was the wheelman and Wilson is using poor Lynch as the scapegoat. -
http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/category...tegoryId=716579 I hope this helps, a friend passed this along but don't be too hasty, wait until all the facts are revealed. His attorney, I mean his agent knows what is best for him.

Good, he deserves to be fined. The Bills shouldn't budge an inch at this time. When Peters signed his last contract he was happy, now that he had a good year he wants to extort another contract? Tell him to beat it. If he continues to have another great year and remains healthy then the Bills should sit down and re-exam the situation but until then Peters should play to what he agreed to. If he refuses then tax his @$$ and set an example for the rest of the team. The only difference between Peters and the Chad Johnson situation is that Jason isn't going public and acting like a retard. I applaud Mike Brown and the Bengals on how they stuck to their guns and didn't relent to Johnson's demands. Like I said, not much difference between the two except the publicity aspect.

I've noticed that since Hardy and his father have had their dispute on Mother's Day he has gone to Buffalo and has worked OT with Trent Edwards. Now that Marshawn Lynch has found himself under the spotlight I'm hoping that he doesn't take it lightly and makes sure that he doesn't put himself in any other compromising situations. Having some of these unsavory situations being reported can either destroy a team and their chemistry or galvanize them. I'm hoping for the latter.

Lynch gets his eyeballs lasered...
Tipster19 replied to Zulu Cthulhu's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wonder if the timing of this Lasik surgery. Would this be some kind of defense or alibi if this case takes a negative turn for Lynch? I'm just asking if it could be, I'm not stating that it would be. -
It looks like that the NY Jets just might be the class
Tipster19 replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Erik, you'll never realize how much I'm in agreement with this whole train of thought here. I just thought that we were right on the verge of doing it the "right way" and now it appears that we might have taken a couple of steps backwards this off season. That's too bad. I'm really not trying to condemn or judge Marshawn, if indeed he was the driver, but what really disappoints me is not the fact that he might have been out late, drinking and possibly not putting himself, his future and the team in the best situation but the fact that if it was him who hit that woman then the realization that it didn't matter enough to him to see if she was alright. That's really the complaint that I would have with him and this incident. I'm a football fanatic, the Bills especially, but it's NOT the most important thing to me in life although I'll admit it is up there though. -

Tipster19 replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'll offer a olive branch here and take this time to apologize to you about my insinuation about your character because you're right, I don't know you. As far as you considering this an idiotic post is your opinion and I'll respect that without taking offense but I did take some solace in the fact that while we were getting pounded by the Patriots in the last few years our players didn't resort to being undesirable on and off the field like them and some other teams from around the league. I can't say that I feel the same way about some of our players at this time. That's too bad because at one time part of our slogan was Talkin' Proud. -

Enough said. Those two statements screams volumes about you. Amen brother. I thought for a moment that I was the only one who thought that. Coles is obviously good but that Cotchery is a beast. Troll??! LOL! I've been called alot of things on this board but I have to tell ya pal, this one is a first. http://www.profootballweekly.com/PFW/NFL/A.../wwhi060608.htm You can choose to sweep it under the rug or face up to the fact that in the last couple of years we have had a few players in unsavory legal situations. Sh--, have we even sign Hardy yet? BTW, if our player(s) continue down this path are they even going to be able to play the games in Toronto? If not and it lands up costing Ralphie boy, then I wouldn't be too surprised if we "suddenly" re-emphasize character again. Now that you mentioned Lynch specifically, which I didn't but I would like to say something about this great debate that has been raging on about his vehicle involved in the hit and run has everyone voicing legal opinion on what he should have done. I'm not educated about the law and what he should or should not do AFTER the fact but I don't need a lawyer to direct my opinion on what the driver should have done AT the scene of the crime. Legally AND morally the driver should have stopped and helped her. That would have been classy now, don't you think? -
Bills cheated also...No better than the Patriots...

Of course you're not tempted to think, lemmings don't they follow and after reading some of your world shattering thoughts you're a prime example of one.
