Does Peters pass or run block better?
John Adams replied to The Big Cat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That was the problem with Peters for the last two years. He had way too many boneheaded and unmotivated plays. Sprinkled in were some gems. He did not deserve the pro bowl and it's too bad he got that recognition because he now thinks he's a stud, when all he is is a better than average player. The Bills made the right move here, getting something for him now instead of the nothing they would have gotten from him this year and then letting him go as a FA (and really getting nothing). They got what they could--the market for Peters was obviously not that great--people saw that he was an unworthy pro-bowler. -

In his defense, most of his postings are about that articulate so he may have been sober. My favorite is his defense of Lynch after his incident: -

"Cops as usual overreacted" to the "near riot" = awesome. Guess they should have been offering hugs to people? And in Donte's case, they must have known his bank account was big and that he drove a Mercedes when they tazed him? Stop making excuses. The event itself is not that big of a deal. Him playing the victim card is embarrassing. If you truly want to stay out of trouble, you can 99% of the time avoid it completely (don't go to certain places. Leave as things get heated. Walk away and don't escalate.) He didn't and thus got into a scrape. Now somehow, he's not to blame for anything. Please. -
This is the direct quote. Some 50 people who responded. One critical.

There's no baggage check on any train that runs from DC/Baltimore/Wilmington//NYC/Boston. You just show your ticket and get on the train with your bags. That's it. Regarding ticket prices, there is nothing cheap about riding the train. In almost all cases, you can find a cheaper flight than a train ticket. From Philly to DC is about $75 one way on Amtrak. If you take the nicer Acela, it's $200 (doing this from memory--might be more or less but that's about right). Philly to NYC is about $100. To get from Philly to Buffalo on the train is 13 hours and something like $300 one way. High speed will only cost more. I love taking the train because there's a lot more room, you can move about, there are plugs for laptops, and checkin is nothing--you can get to the station 5 minutes before departure. But it's costly.

Rico, I need Powerball numbers for Saturday.

The biggest problem with Idol last night: I don't associate most of those songs immediately with a movie. The song from Armageddon? The song from Robin Hood? Jesus H. people. If you pick a song that is clearly from a movie (that is actually GOOD), you get all the goodwill from the movie along with the song. Adam: Staying Alive. (Or Jail House Rock...either one with era-appropriate attire) Gokey: Danger Zone. Anoop: Old Time Rock and Roll (in costume, or maybe with tear away pants?). Maybe I like to move it move it (I kid I kid) Lil Rounds: Reflection (the Mulan song) Allison: What a Feeling (the Flashdance song) Kris Allen: Mrs. Robinson Matt Giraud. ? That list of songs would have slayed last night.

My biggest criticism: The contestants did not pick songs that I immediately associate with a movie. The song from Armageddon? The Robin Hood song? Are you kidding me?

As usual, multimedia referred to in this post is at the link in my sig. *** American Idol: At the movies. Quentin Tarantino in the house advising the contestants. Here's a preview from his new movie, which looks to kick ass. Somehow Abigail, who is the nicest and sweetest person on the planet even sees the beauty in Quentin's violence. Allison Iraheta. Don't want to miss a thing. Timing seems way off with the violins. By the time the chorus hits, she's rolling with that Allison energy. She has a few pitchy moments (a first for her) but the judges, sensing they owe her for some unfair weeks, are kind. Paula says Allison has the special sauce. Exsqueeze me? I think of something different when I hear that but maybe Paula is still in the two all beef patty special sauce lettuce cheese pickles onion on a sesame seed bun (yes sir!) zone. Anoop Desai. Everything I do. His jacket is half suit, half Potsie. It's slow. Not challenging. But enjoyable. Sweetly melodic and fun. Judges liked it. I was not "wow"ed but he should live another week. Adam Lambert. Born to be wild. Perfect song choice. His performances to date could be strung together into a best-selling video. The song ROCKS even more than normal. Adam pegs the energy needle. Simon thinks of something negative to say but I don't remember what it was or that it matters. Stellar is almost becoming mundane for Adam. Matt Giraud. Have you ever really loved a woman. What the !@#$? Is this Bryan Adams night? Tarantino says he's a mush-mouth. Remember Mush Mouth? I love Mush Mouth. From last week, I repeat: Matt is a killer piano player. Now that the blind dork is gone, maybe they will give him some props. (Nope--still ignoring his piano playing.) Song was OK--I mean, it's a lame song but he did well. Randy and Kara knock his performance and they are right: his changes screwed up the song a bit. He's at risk. Returning to Bryan Adams, I think I listened to that Reckless album (I had it on cassette) a thousand times. I feel like I had some pressing crush on a girl to this song but can't remember who it was: Danny Gokey. Endless love. No glasses--he has a slightly different look. 3 weeks in a row with slow songs, a choice I question. Tarintino gave him good advice on hand use but he didn't listen. (Advice was keep the hands at bay and let energy flow out through voice and eyes.) His BEST performance yet and that is saying a lot because he's been so good. Judges are lukewarm to him and challenge him to be original. (Aside: Ryan's Randy impression appeals to my 7 year old daughter Nabby so it works for someone.) Kris Allen. I don't know you. From "Once." Turn down background singer. One way we judge in the Adams house is how much we talk through a song. We talked through this entire performance. We were discussing tomorrow's lunch orders for 2 minutes and it didn't make us stop talking for even a second. Nabby likes carrot more than a rabbit. [bugs Bunny baseball video] (The greatest moment in baseball ever.) Never heard of the song. Never heard of the movie. He could be gone. Lil Rounds. The Rose. Timing is off but a good song choice for her. Nothing terrible about it but as usual, she's a disappointment. She argues with Simon but if she didn't suck, she wouldn't be in this position. This should be her week to go. Top: Lambert and Gokey. Bottom: Allen and Rounds.

For a guitar, $2500 is where the top of the line starts for any name brand (there are custom guitars that go for much more). Most big guitar stores wouldn't carry a guitar that costs much more than that. Someday when I get a surprise enormous check, I may splurge but I don't think so. To analogize, I don't want to be the guy with the $2000 golf clubs who shoots 110. That guy is a douche.

Agreed, but I love picking it up every time I stop in for strings. In fact, it's the prime reason I don't order strings and picks online. I hope that some day I'll be in there when the fire alarm goes off and I have to rescue the Hummingbird to my car as the store burns to the ground. No one would ever call what I do "shredding."
-
I play all the time--I started late in life though. $2500+ for a guitar, in my mind, should be reserved for pros.
-
I also have the ESP LTD. Looks great though I don't play it more than a couple times a month. My most-played guitar by far is a Breedlove Atlas AC25. I have two crappy guitars (one electric, one acoustic) that are both Ibanez. They were my starter guitars. I keep the acoustic in my office. The electric hasn't been out of its bag in 3 years. If I ever consider myself worthy, I would love a Gibson Hummingbird. The one at Guitar Center in King of Prussia has a stain on it because every time I stop in, it catches my drool. It's going to take a lot of improvement on my part to think I'm worth a $2500+ guitar.

Of the fast food chains, Taco Bell is my favorite. I believe you can put their hot sauce on anything and convert it into something edible. (I eat fast food about 5x/year. I count Ruby Tuesdays, TGIF, and similar chains as fast food.)

And we're 20% of the way there!

I use both and have no idea what you're talking about. Setup for a mac is easy as pie. My hardest transition was giving up Picasa for photo organization (many years ago) but now I'm an iPhoto convert. My iMac (also have a laptop) is set up for Windows/Mac dual boot. I did that at first so I could use all the Windows things. After the first few weeks, I stopped using that. I haven't booted into Windows in at least 6 months. At work, I am in a PC world. It's a painful difference.

Reed plays with a fire that no one on this team can rival. When he went out last season, the offense went in the shitter.
