Do you think that hoping the US gets its ducks back in a row means ignoring the fiscal irresponsibility that marked the Bush years (and appears to be accelerating under Obama)? If anything, you make Peggy's point. The US has forgotten its mission and now is in deep ****. But it is fixable. Not quickly, as Magox has often stated...but only over a long time with a clear and ambitious plan (that no one has put forward). This mess can be undone but it's a mess alright.

The number of movies representing the DWW side of the story is far less than those showing the brave cowboys and evil Indians. It was another perspective--and a good one because so many Americans are foreign or resistant to it. Was it complete? No. But it showed some of the Indian savagery to settlers along with a sympathy for their culture.

I would be OK with Tebow in Round 2. Not in Round 1.

Ryan Leaf and Jeff George had two of the best arms I've ever seen. Jim Kelly had poor mechanics. Joe Montana had no arm strength. 31-35, 482 yards...3 TDs and 1 rushing TD. I have no idea how Tebow will be as an NFL QB and neither do you but he did that against an undefeated team. This is your moment to be quiet.

Right. The Bills are built to lose in all climates! I like any commitment to toughness. That backs up a HC-recruiting philosophy that hopefully will go after a tough guy. I'm good with $%^# public education. It's a disgrace. The more alternatives the government encourages (by doing things like vouchers), the better. I would live in a cardboard box under a bridge and live off food stamps before sending my child to a public school and let the unmotivated norm teach her whatever the trend-of-the-day is.

What--do you think a Master's Degree entitles you to something? A Masters in Education is High School part 2. A 2 year degree any C student in the world can get. And Chef Jim, you're being generous. The average teacher works nothing close to 9 months a year.

Myth. Teacher average pay is 40-50K nationwide. That's with killer benefits including boatloads of vacation. If someone is any good, they can find a job in a better school district and make a lot more than that. It's a pretty decent wage considering that the people who go into it are not the best and brightest, for the most part.

And where is Kelly getting said billion dollars? And when Wilson dies, the team won't pass easy breezy to his kids--there will be a rough transition time between the heirs (who don't want the team) and whoever comes next.

Let me see. I'm 71 and have all the money I want. I could (a) enjoy my grandchildren, travel, write a book...or (b) sign up for a 5-6 year stint of unending stress and time away from my family to build one of the losingest franchises in the last 15 years with no promise that the owner doesn't die and I am stuck with no money to spend on a team that could then move. Yeah, thanks but I'll pass.
