  1. It was better than the lsat 2 seasons, which wasn't hard to do. Sadly, Hiro is still alive. His plotlines and time travelling blow.
  2. I will eat my vote again. Her on McCain's ticket steered me off McCain. I certainly couldn't vote for her outright. She's dumb and basks in the glow of her own stupidity.
  3. Oh, I'm judging all right. It's early in the Tea Party idea and they don't know if they are just putting up a platform or an actual candidate but here's the Palin problem: She's just a voicebox saying some of the right things. BUT SHE'S NOT SMART. They need to find people who are actual contenders that share their ideals. IF Palin runs as a Tea Party candidate, I will never ever never vote for her even if she can say the right things (if they are written on her palm).
  4. Wow are you wrong. That doesn't mean Palin is smart. (She's not.)
  5. I had so much hope for this Tea PArty and now they are letting Palin rise to their "leadership." What the hell?
  6. I heard about the hoopla in headlines leading up to the ad and when it came up, I expected so much more. That ad was much ado about nothing. I had to replay it to see if I missed something.
  7. Then you didn't read the article like you said. The brain damage is from hits--not concussions. And the issue is that they are seeing these awful hardened brains in cadavers of children who play football...at a rate of almost 100% (in a sample of 50 ex-players which is small but 100%!!!). I don't give a spit if adults go get concussions but 99.9% of people playing football are under 18 and/or will never get paid. The price they pay for their parent's either ignorance of this problem or pushing them into football is a !@#$ed up brain at age 50. That's a problem and the NFL can help by setting some example.
  8. In the down position, the head gets hit more frequently. This solution, however, is placing a band-aid over a severed limb. It won't make a bit of difference (what the NFL wants) while making it look like the NFL cares (which it clearly does not). It's not just concussions that NEED to be eliminated. It's blows to the head. The research on people who play football at any level is not a little scary--it's completely frightening. I agree that the rule changes will change the game and make it less fun to watch but what is happening to kids (and anyone) playing football is horrifying and really needs to be changed. Read Gladwell's article. It's got a stupid subtext of animal cruelty but the head trauma facts are gut-wrenching.
  9. Sometimes you're really right. I had the same initial reaction to the announcement of the underroo bomber's cooperation as GG. Then I thought what you said. Then back to GG. After 5 minutes, I switched the glasses and laughed as you drank the cup with the iocane powder. .
  10. Mention how you'll be a great juror because you can use your cell phone to google the law during breaks.
  11. Responding "I hate black people" in the survey works. In one case I worked, a woman who seemed a pretty benign juror asked "What?" to the judge about 10 times during voir dire (questioning/selection of jurors). She was easily excused even though a few of us thought she was faking her hearing loss. Last time I came up for jury duty, they asked if I would be more likely to believe a police officer's account than someone else's, even though I would be charged to consider them equally. I honestly answered that "Yes, in most cases, I will be more inclined to believe the police officer." Rejected. I didn't lie and I wasn't trying to get out of jury duty but that answer was grounds for immediate DQ. Next time I will lie and carry that bias into the court with me like most jurors carry their biases.
  12. So far (and it's early) Whitner has lots more game than Maybin.
  13. Sounds like in retrospect, Todd thinks he made a bad decision. Even he couldn't raise XTC from its middling new wave place to a real band.
  14. XTC couldn't carry Neil's songbook or Def Leppard's hairspray.
  15. I play guitar. It doesn't mean that I'd care to sit down and learn a John Mayer song just to prove a point to the tamborine player in a middling wannabe boy band.
  16. And you are a somebody because you like a band no one here cares for? KRC 3 XTC 0
  17. Sorry that you can't convince us that XTC is a first rate pop band of talented musicians. You're the one with his breasts in a wringer over the fact that we don't like your middling underground new wave guys. Music is subjective. You like a sucky band. Bully for you. I am sure my iPod is filled with bands you hate. And if you attack them on a message board, I won't engage you in a dialog to convince you that you're wrong. BTW, your Moulding guuy couldn't clean the mold from John Myung's third bathroom.
  18. They got that from Yoko because they are a throwback band. Or something.
  19. Wow is that painful. "Our House, in the middle of the street, Our house, was a castle and a keep" minus the part where it sticks in your head for all damn eternity. Every time you link a song, it just proves that they are a new wave band who didn't make the cut for radio play. It's OK but you can link to every song they play and they will still be a mildly talented new wave band who missed their brief moment of opportunity.
  20. Which you later admit in this thread is impossible to prove. So who's being hypocritical? Can you see how silly you sound? Oh, and saying XTC (a band no one here heard of) is the equivalent of the Beatles (a band some of us might know) proves you're cuckoo for cuckoo-puffs.
  21. See, you have one buddy. Doesn't that make you happy?
  22. Do you think the bolded means something?
  23. Blackbird and Eine Kleine Nacthmusic sound !@#$ing amazing on an AM transistor radio low on batteries 600 miles from the nearest tower. Your boys can't be cured by better audio equipment.
  24. You're the one who linked to the song with them doing their New Wave thing. Guess what: if that's what you point out as representative, I have no interest in exploring their entire musical catalog to find the one thing I might like. If there was vocal or musical talent in that clip, I didn't see it and they didn't appeal to me. Punk, New Wave, New Age, Rave, Hair, who gives a !@#$? Only one person besides you here seems to even know who XTC is so they obviously are not a particularly well-liked or well-thought of band. You and your 14 pals can have XTC parties in peace and when they reunite, high fiving each other about how you're the only ones to "get it."
