  1. I root for the Bills. It's a short fall.
  2. Another day, another anti-gay Republican homo exposed.
  3. Last night sucked. Period. Anyone who thinks that the magic light is a good resolution to the island mystery also liked the Force Mitachlorians or whatever they are. It's lame at a level that defies lame definition. I will watch the last episodes but the experience has been soured--they just made Jar Jar the hero.
  4. I use mine with dual cable cards and have no problems at all. Regarding the future of the company, even if it goes under, someone would happily buy their tech and steady cashflow. It's not like all the TiVos would suddenly cease working. As to the last person who asked whether it works with a cable box, some models do. The newer models work with cable cards from your cable company.
  5. So 9 months ago you wouldn't have thought I was going to hell and now you're quoting the Bible at me? Let me know when you change back.
  6. Mort declined to vote the second time around because we're too far removed from the season in May? What a kitty. Vote for Maybin but at least cast your vote. It's not taht hard to revisit the season and figure out who you like. What I don't understand is why the anti-writers campaigns are allowed to go on at all. This is either an anti-writer campaign or an anti-jw campaign. Either way, it's something that would be out of hand even on PPP. Not that jw can't handle it but it really distracts from board, don't laugh, decorum.
  7. We go to Big Moose lake every year since I was a kid. Still go there now that I have kids. Now we go to Covewood Lodge. Back then we stayed at The Big Moose Inn. Have camped at many of the nearby lakes. Beautiful place.
  8. The reason I don't like Thomas is that he was a poor choice because he lacked the intellect and experience that should be needed to be a SC Justice. But note that once he was nominated, I thought the opposition (particularly the assinine Anita Hill stuff) was unfair and he should be approved. Even a president's bad choice, unless the nominee proves himself wholly unworthy of the nomination, should get approved. Thomas serves on the Court to the best of his ability. He's no Scalia or Roberts in intellect but he's fine. I just expect more than "fine" from a SC Justice.
  9. I already know the response. "You could make less and still pay it you greedy prick." And yes, we could. And no, we won't. After a decade of watching our heath care costs increase by 10-15% every year and eat our bottom line, we decided to if not stop the profit leak, at least stem it.
  10. Confirmed here as well. Blue Cross's POS plan that we used to offer free to all employees just hit the tipping point. Our total increase is something like $350K. It's a sad day but we've decided to charge employees $100/month from now on and will charge them 40% of all future Blue Cross increases. We're still swallowing most of it but it sucks to not provide for our employees the way we've always done. For you libs on the board, that's how us evil business owners feel when we can't provide for our employees in the way we always have. We feel !@#$ing awful. But frankly, we don't run a non-profit and can't keep eating 300K/year increases.
  11. It's not as much fun now that Bill from NYC and I are buddies though. I had my finest moments in these discussions back then. At least I've got JSP to kick around.
  12. What a shock that this gay discussion turned into a circle jerk.
  13. To Joe, marriage only counts in his church (Catholic maybe?). Outside that church, you can't call it marriage.
  14. I'm going to hell because I think gays should have the secular right to marry...but you cause them pain by aggressively denying their right to secular marriage and that's heavenly? No wonder I'm not in your god-club.
  15. It's because I can't believe people like you operate in any way but under white hoods. To me, there's only the finest of lines between your controlling gays rights and other forms of racism and sexism. (Oh wait, you're the guy who doesn't like Kagan because she's a woman...makes some sense now.)
  16. Marriage is not god-ordained except in your church. In the real world, the secular institution of marriage and rights that flow from it has nothing to do with god. I can't believe you're one of those loons who hides behind a fight about using a word: "marriage" vs. "civil-union." At least before I thought you were a zealot and that made more sense to me.
  17. My dad can't even talk about gays without clamming up embarassed. My schools were anti-gay Catholic. My Catholic upbringing was anti-gay (via the mouths of gay priests and also pedophile preists who love fiddling boys). Didn't work to make me anti-gay marriage.
  18. Ayup. I know you're wrong. You have some sort of feeling like gay people are bad, which is senseless and illogical. I know people like you can't have your mind changed, so I take comfort in the undebateable fact that your generation of people who love the government in the bedroom will die and the generations that follow will look at your behavior with the shame I have when reflecting on my racist grandfather. I shouldn't have brought up your daughter, even vaguely like that. I apologize. Let's just say the generation of both our children will wipe out your biases in a tidal wave.
  19. If I am back at work in my mind at 88, I can gauran-!@#$ing-tee that I won't make it to 89, let alone 98. I would like to point out that so far, I win. When I turn 98, I plan on logging on here and posting a final "I was right and you were wrong" post that dead DC Tom can't refute and Darin can't make fun of.
  20. Your daughter will get what you don't. There's a massive generational gap on this issue.
  21. I never claimed to be open minded to people who are wrong. If you want to hole up in a shack in the mountains, I wish you long life BTW. IF it's any consolation, my racist grandfather and his type needed to die out too but I still loved him. Do you think she's got an agenda to ruin the country or something...by doing something radical like stopping the government from intruding on adult's bedrooms?
  22. Their first step is the Supreme Court. Then gay marriage. Than dog marriage. Then Manbla. You know how it goes.
  23. Thankfully your unfortunate type will be dead soon. I see no evidence of a pro-lesbian anti-abortion agenda. At best, I see evidence of an opinion on one of the issues (The stupid DADT policy) as it related to Harvard Law School. Alito and Roberts (not to mention Scalia and Thomas) are probably pro-choice. Guess what: I don't care. If they were zealots on the issue, I would care. If they just have a personal opinion, I don't.
