  1. I always try to buy American made products. Even if I have to pay more. It's got increasingly hard to do tho. It seems there's not alot of consumer goods made here anymore.
  2. I think the Bills should sign her. We need some depth at OT.
  3. Texas seems like a perfect fit from a geographical standpoint, but I know there's alot more to it than that. Yesterday on College Football Live they had a segment on the possibility of Texas going independant. The AD said they're considering it. There's gonna be a big shake up soon. How it turns out is anybodys guess.
  4. I agree. For home protection a shotgun is best. It also is much less likely to penetrate walls and go on to hit an unintended target.
  5. So are they any alternatives to losing our manufacturing jobs? Do protectionist policies like tariffs help or hurt? How can we possibly compete against countries where labor is paid ridiculously low wages? Is it a battle that we've already lost, and are we destined to a lower and lower standard of living?
  6. OK,first of all I'm not much into politics cuz I can't stand the petty, partisan bickering. I'm asking an honest question here and would like to hear opinions from all sides. It seems to me that the U.S was at it's best when we had a strong manufacturing base that provided for a huge middle class. It makes sense, producing what you consume makes for a healthy economic cycle. Why has our manufacturing base disappeared and can it ever come back? If not, is there any industry that could potentially provide the jobs the manufacturing base once did? What effect would policies like tariffs have?
  7. I feel bad for Lynch too. He's viewed as a punk,or worse,by most around here. He has brought it on himself by some dumb actions, but I think alot of that is just immaturity. He was participating in a free football clinic, here in the town I live, last summer. It was at a park in a tough part of town, and was not given any publicity that I know of. We just happened to be in the same park that day and I watched Lynch interact with people. He had a real good way with people, especially the kids. I didn't talk to him or anything, but just watching him left an impression on me. I think he's a good kid. Hopefully he can get past these youthful mistakes he's made and let more people see what I saw.
  8. One other difference I forgot to mention with the Portuguese bullfights is the forcados. The first bull of each half is fought on horseback and then these cats come out and do their thing. After they stop the bull,if they can,the bull is lead out by the females. These guys are crazy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J8-XwAT4y_4
  9. Yeah,I know. I know all about bullfighting. I've actually been to bullfights in 4 different countries. In Portugal, the Azores and some parts of South America, the bull is allowed to exit the ring alive. The format is basically the same except at the end the matador performs a ceremonial kill and cows are let into the ring to lure the bull out. This actually has some of it's own entertainment value, cuz the humans, armed only with long poles, have a hard time controlling 5 or 6 female fighting cows as well as the angry bull.
  10. Check this out. This dude took it hard! http://www.nypost.com/p/news/international...9Snnc3d4BRNZPUN
  11. You're right that the popular perception of Lynch is that he's a punk. He has done it to himself and it's too bad. Last summer he participated a free football clinic being put on by Titan Chris Henry at a park in the town I live. It got no publicity and we just happened to be in the park when it was going on. I watched Marshawn interact with people and he really seemed like a nice guy. He was especially good with the kids. I think he's a good guy, just immature. It hope he gets his act together so more people can see the good side of him.
  12. You should have just made some out of rubber bands and safety pins. Woulda saved you 20 bucks.
  13. I watch sports programming or History Channel for the most part. I've never been a fan of sitcoms, but my son turned me on to a show called Modern Family. It's pretty damn funny.
  14. Even though I'm born and raised in California,I've been a Michigan Wolverines fans since birth. In every sport. My Dads side of the family is from the Detroit area,so me and my brothers had no choice. Started being a Bills fan in the mid 60's cuz I liked the "bull" on the helmet and cuz they had a star player named Butch Byrd. I thought that was hella cool. Been an Oakland A's fan ever since they moved to Oakland because, like UM,my Dad told us that's the way it's gonna be. Never been a huge NBA fan,but I do root for the Kings, and have ever since they came to NorCal.GO BLUE!!!!
  15. I think a good ass kicking is a more fitting punishment for this crime than printing his name in the paper. I'd hate to see the kid carry around a stigma for half his life for one idiotic act in his youth.
  16. You make some valid points. I'm just thinking out loud on this issue, but drunks take so many innocent lives that the interlock sounds like a reasonable way to combat it. As far as wanting less electronic crap on your car,I'm all with you on that. When I first started driving (in the 70's) cars electrical systems were so simple. I never took my cars to a mechanic, you could do almost all repairs yourself. Nowadays you need to be an electrician, computer tech and NASA scientist rolled into one just to diagnose the problem!
  17. I would be against that part. That should be only for the DUI convictions.
  18. I agree. I'd be OK with making them standard equpment on all new cars. The only problem would be with all the older vehicles already out there. Drunks would just start driving old cars. Not sure how you would work that out.
  19. I'll make sure to remember that next time there's a long line at the bathroom!
  20. He obviously doesn't suffer from bashful bladder syndrome. http://www2.tricities.com/tri/news/local/a..._student/46105/
  21. I have no problem with it at all. The less drunks on the road the better.
  22. I never wear jerseys but I do own one. It's an autographed Jack Tatum Raider jersey. So I guess if I was to wear one, that would be it.
  23. Wow,this is crazy if true. Can you imagine going to work everyday knowing your coworker is banging your mom?!?!?! http://blogs.bet.com/entertainment/spotlig...e-championship/
