Exactly right.These type of negative articles are really useless. Any place you live is only as good or bad as you make it for yourself.

Being friendly to people is easy but it has it's limits. If someone I don't know is overly friendly to me I get suspicious. I guess what I try to be is cordial and respectful,but give people their space.

No anger,just a lack of tolerence for silly analogies that muddle the point. What area isn't sometimes threatened by floods,wildfires,earthquakes,tornadoes,hurricanes or other natural disasters? I guess you must live there.Can I be your neighbor???? The original discussion point of this thread (or so I thought)was not government spending,or insurance coverage or YOUR responsibility. It was only about the feelings we have toward the victims.Hell,I haven't done as much as I could have,or probably should have,to help out.I gave a little extra at church and donated some clothes and money here and there,that's about it. But I do have empathy in my heart for those poor people and I have prayed for them. That don't cost you anything and I don't think it's too much to ask from anyone.

Comparing the hurricane Katrina victims to somebody buying a corvette is stupid. One is a natural disaster and one is an irresponsible person buying unnecessary luxury items.Get back to me when you have an analogy that makes some sense. Most of these people had lived in the area for years,and had weathered many hurricanes safely. In hindsight,yeah they made the wrong decision,but that doesn't mean they where somehow to blame for a natural disaster. Some of you guys seem to be looking for a reason to blame these poor folks for their misfortune.

The people you speak of were all victims of disasters that were completely out of their control. Anybody with a brain should feel sorrow for them. Things like this could happen to anybody,including yourself. At the very least,they all deserve our prayers. If you can't understand that,I don't know what else can be said.

Agree with all your points. Preseason polls are pretty much worthless imo. Polls shouldn't be released until after a few weeks of the season has passed. Then they would mean a little more. Hard to say what to expect fram ND this year. It's possible they struggle under a new coach and transition. It's also possible they get an immediate boost from the new regime,much like Weis's first year. Just have to wait and see.
