  1. Believe the hype. Snowpiercer was amazing! A strong film from start to finish with some incredible acting and a unique plot. Jamie Bell and Octavia Spencer were really good but Chris Evans was unbelievable. I've always thought he was good but with every new role he takes he just keeps putting himself into the truly elite category. I will definitely be buying this one when available.

Thanks for the review, I still think "Snowpiercer" has yet to be given a much wider release, but I'll try to see it when I can.

  2. You're right. With an ACL there is 0% chance he returns in 2014, even if we made the playoffs ( dare I say it ). Give him an entire year to heal, rehab, work on building strength and stability to the knee, and look forward to him ripping it up at the Wil in 2015.

As to the other comment later in the year, he was getting beat up in run plays against guards. It makes sense as he is only 235 lbs. he's built and has skills for the outside.

Now if Preston Brown can be even close to as good as Kiko, he also is over 250 lbs. and between him, Spikes, and Lawson possibly, we'll stop the run.

Agreed. It's best to have Kiko fully healed and ready for next year. Do not rush him back.

  3. Someone please show me a medical report saying this kids knee is an issue. There are NONE! One of the best surgeons in the WORLD says the knee is just fine. He played the last TWO seasons on the knee with no issues. So please produce something that actually shows this kids knee is an issue.

Good point. Yet he still was not taken in the first round.

Were all of the other OT's taken before him that much more talented?

  4. BAM!!! Free again. Act depressed about the economy when speaking with the agent. Tell them you don't have the energy to haggle this year and you just need to cancel. Explain to them that there is no need for Sunday Ticket any more because so many games are televised. Because you no longer need Sunday Ticket you no longer need DIrectv. I told them no thanks to every discount they offered and said I was going to shop around. Without even asking they threw in Sunday Ticket somehow lowered my bill $60. I settled for this and didn't cancel my service. You must be able to convince them you will cancel and don't let them know you want Sunday Ticket.

Okay made my second call today. As soon as I got the prompts I said "cancel service." They asked me if I am cancelling because I am moving I said no. They sent me right to retention. I said how much is if I have to cancel my service. She said you are under contract until April 2016 so it would be $420. She said "is something wrong?" I said "yeah, I called yesterday & the guy I talked to only gave me a $5 charge off each month for Sunday Ticket, that is an insult." She said I agree. I then said I will get back to you, I am going to see if I could get someone to credit some of the $420 if I switch to them I know TW has offered me a $350 credit in the past." I said I will call back in a few days." She said hold on, I think I could play around with the system for you give me a minute. " I was put on hold for about 10 minutes. She comes bacjk & says "okay this is what I can do, I could give you the Sunday Ticket max for $160, it will hit your bill but I will also give you a $160 credit this month so your bill will be the same. I will also since you have been so patient give you an additional $10 off per month for the next 12 months. I said perfect. I never got nasty or raised my voice. If she called my bluff I was just going to hang up on her. That my friends is how you negotiate your free sunday ticket. I ahve been a customer since 2005.

I hope that nobody from DirecTV is watching this website and reading these stories.

  5. Mark - a very nice write up. I might have commented Tannehill has to make the leap this year with holding onto the ball too long which accounted partly for their demise at the end of the year.

That's just a small point, as I thought you were on the mark with everything else.

Thanks for throwing out there as a lot of people for various reasons don't want to invite constructive feedback. It says a lot about you.

Have a good rest of the weekend.

    MGK

Agree on most of it. I don't see the Pats as being stronger on D given what they lost vs. the additions, but they keeping winning. Nice work MV.

    Thank you both.

MGK, I wanted to see what my fellow TBD'ers thought, especially since we all know the AFC East very well. More importantly, I wanted the article to sound objective.

Green Lightning, I don't see the Patriots defense being much stronger either, even if Revis works out. The D-Line & LB corps is where they need to step up.

  6. Sorry if I came off that way. I just meant the school is pushing the interlocking UB and downplaying the snorting bull logo, but not completely eliminating it. I think they are slowing moving to using the state outline "NEW YORK" as the eventual logo. They have to go slow because people here get butthurt over any perceived slight.

I get your point. Many colleges use two different logos, one for the helmet and one for all around use.

The UB logo is what is on the helmet.

The blue bull logo is the general logo.

  7. Stevie Johnson earned every penny and more as a Bill. He worked hard. He played hard. He wanted to win every bit as much as any fan wanted the Bills to win. He did his part. His Bills career should not be defined by a couple costly drops and a few small bouts of immaturity. I wish him the best in the rest of his NFL career and beyond. He's a good dude, in my book.

And yes. I miss him. But I think his departure was both smart and necessary for him AND the Bills.

I love Stevie. Always will. I'll root for him in SF. Sad he's not on the team....but we don't need him. Especially with his big contract. I'm super fired up for Sammy. Excited for mike Williams. I think Robert woods will be our most productive WR this year. Our WRs are the best we've had in 20 years IMO. While I loved Stevie because he embraced the city and was a good person, we're better off without him

Both these comments how I feel. I had no problems with Stevie. I wish him the very best in SF, and I do miss him.

Having said that, I am absolutely thrilled that we have Sammy Watkins, and I can't wait to see how Robert Woods does in his second year.

  8. Coming down to the wire here... but honing in on some. Here were a few that have been recently brought up that I don't think were mentioned:

Malcolm Jamal Warner (dude can act and this is the kind of role that is so far from Cosby it could be great for him), Omari Hardwick, Mahershala Ali and a few that others have suggested for the lead.

Female lead I have: Gugu Mbatha-Raw leading the pack

The rest are still being sorted... but this has been helpful so any further ideas are always welcome!

I've heard some good things about her.

  9. Mark, I think most of us don't watch RZ instead of a game; we watch it in conjunction with watching the Bills or another game. At least that's what I do.

I mean, if the Bills aren't playing and you're watching the Jags/Browns you wouldn't rather see the action happening elsewhere? Particularly during commercials?

I do have the benefit of watching the Bills at a sports bar, so when the Bills game goes to commercial I will then check one of the other games that's on another screen.

However, if I was at home and forced to watch the only game that is on local tv, then I will watch that game only and not watch red zone channel. And when the commercials come on, i'll just mute the tv and do some TBD stuff until the game comes back on.
