Pete Metzelaars - he was a member of the country club that I tended bar at during the summers when I was in college; he had to duck his head walking into the dining room or he would have gotten hit right in the forehead by a wooden beam... also, he was very shy and unassuming...

If they made a fable about him and Keon Coleman it would be called "The Tortoise and the Tortoise"

I was at the "No Punt" game in '92 in San Francisco, and I saw what had to be the longest run after catch for a touchdown by Metzelaars in his whole career.
    I couldn't believe it.

That's going to be on the new WRs we added to make that happen.  There is a reason we didn't move the ball all that well in the early matchup with this last year.  We didn't have a single guy that could create separation one on one and they knew it.  They got up in our WRs faces, brought the safeties down and dared us to beat them down the field and we couldn't do it because we didn't have the talent at WR.  There's a reason we went out and took a flyer on Cooper.  It was painfully obvious we needed more.  As it turns out, while it looks like the wheels may have fallen off Cooper last year, he was good enough to make a couple of great contested catches down the field that opened up things just enough for the offense to get back on track.  The Playoff game went a little better on offense, but it's not like we went out there and moved the ball at will.  Make no mistake about it.....it wasn't easy for the offense either game against them last season.  I do have higher expectations for our WR group with the additions of Palmer and Moore, but they have to prove they can beat teams down the field in order to force teams to back their safeties off again.  If we can't create separation on a regular basis, it's going to be tough going once again.

We also did a stupid flea flicker play on offense that lead to a turnover in that first game, and killed a potential comeback. That is on Joe Brady.

Remember how the second half started in that game? The Ravens went 3 & Out. Bills got the ball and drove down for a touchdown.

Ravens get the ball and go 3 & Out AGAIN! Bills get the ball, get to midfield and do a stupid unnecessary flea flicker which resulted in a turnover and put the game out of reach.

There were a lot of decent films that year and the subject matter is sometimes too dark for the Oscar voters.  A early year release hurt it too.  I thought Hanks deserved an Oscar nom for Captain Phillips that year too.

As I recall it was released in September, not too early, oh well. Denis Villenueve's movies have all been home runs, from what I've seen.

Josh gets married and is now playing like hot garbage.  We're doomed.  I knew we should have made a play for Darnold this year or drafted Rosen.  Neither of them are married.

    Tank for Arch Manning!

Poor attempt at a joke with four super serious critically acclaimed movies and then Dude Where's My Car.

My real list does of course include BTTF and four other random movies that I thought were well done and just kind of stuck with me over the years.  Honorable mentions would be Inglourious Basterds, Before Sunset, and Fargo.  Gangs of New York if done correctly could've been right up there as it painted an interesting time in US History that not many films have touched.  It was just too scattered and Daniel Day Louis was the only stand out actor with Dicaprio (who I usually like) and Diaz as miscast.

    Back to the Future

    Prisoners

    What's Eating Gilbert Grape

    About Schmidt

    Notorious

Prisoners is an incredible movie. Hugh Jackman is great. That movie should have gotten more recognition from the Oscars.

    Nice pick of Notorious to.

Not sure what more Allen could have done on that play. He literally threw it 25 yards downfield while falling backwards cuz of the blitz that wasn’t picked up. A heroic throw that I don’t think any other qb has the strength to make. It had to be caught

I'm amazed that Allen was able to get that ball to the spot of where Kincaid was.

I hope that Kincaid can put that play out of his mind, and I'm hoping he can become a very good player for us.

  7. I remember being in Chicago for the year we drafted him. Jim Kelly came out on stage to announce the pick, this was after he beat the cancer he had gone through.

Roger Goodell didn't even have to introduce him as they both walked out on the stage, the crowd erupted when they saw Kelly.

  8. Sad news.

As much as I love M*A*S*H, Hot Lips was probably my least favorite character. She had some good funny moments, yet she was lauded for being a strong female character.

I'm sorry, but yelling and screaming doesn't make you strong, it makes you loud.
