  1. Some of the statements/opinions in this thread are incredibly disappointing.

    Everyone has different opinions.

Some of them you will agree with, others you won't. Some of them you will find enlightening and others repulsive. So goes life.

Honestly, this thread has gone much more smoothly than I would have expected.

I saw far more hatred on this board during the Flutie-Johnson debate.

I think most non-homophobes like myself wouldn't care.

Just like most non-racists wouldn't care if their son married someone of another race.

What if your child married a Patriots* fan?

  2. I've been on the bandwagon for James Jones for a couple of months now.

I understand that he's had a case of the drops recently, but I think his total production as an NFL WR is outstanding.

He'd give us a much needed veteran presence in the group we have and would be a viable weapon.

Jones easily has 4-5 more good years in him, and I think adding him in with Stevie, Woods & Goodwin would give us a strong unit.

I also don't believe that Jones would break the bank for the Bills.

I know a lot of people want to draft a WR, and while the thought of drafting Sammy Watkins is very tempting, I would much rather have a proven NFL WR who can make an impact right now, instead of a rookie going through NFL growing pains.

  3. its an extremely predictable and simple process really, the only hard part is tracking who we signed/lost (inevitably i forget someone, or a few). otherwise, theres really no reason to wait - the guy couldve released it in august with really high accuracy probably

I don't doubt the guy's accuracy, it may very well turn out like this.

Your probably right that the NFL could have already announced the full compensatory picks list already. But we all know how the NFL loves to make a big deal about these things.

With Roger Goodell running the show, I'm surprised that the NFL Network doesn't have a two hour broadcast of the announcement of the compensatory picks.

  4. Thanks Q -- very helpful link. There's plenty of money to pay Byrd. Looks like they'll be a few cap casualties. Hughes, Kolb?, Pears?.

Freddie's cap # isn't small either, hopefully the Bills wouldn't be that dumb. But I won't be surprised if they draft a RB in rounds 2-4.

Kolb & Pears are the obvious choices and you could even throw in Legursky. Maybe even Hairston, since his status is uncertain.

Though I'm puzzled as to why you suggested Hughes. Yes we'd save about 4 million in cap space, but after the year Hughes had, the Bills should keep him.

Granted, Hughes is a free agent next year, and he may command big money, but let's deal with that later. Who knows? The Bills may give him a new contract sometime during next season.

  5. My overall preference would be to add picks. This draft is deep and I think that is best case scenario and we can still address our needs. Based on the fact we don't need to take a QB this year, unless the Bills are locked in on someone they absolutely have to have at 9 (I would be surprised if this were the case) I think they will not hesitate to make a trade if they have a partner.

If the Bills were to trade down, how far back would we want them to do so?

    5-7 picks back or 10-12?

  6. Wow, that's kinda of a richard move on Brees' part. Would he want someone talking about his contract situation a couple years ago? Personally, everyone should worry about their own financial situation.

Brees should stay out of this, or at the very least not make public statements about it. Keep it within the organization.

  7. That was like a 20 minute massage. Mmmmmmm. gooooood.

    Takeaways:

-It started to feel like an Andre Reed HOF justification video.

-I now remember firmly when the charging Buffalo was to be feared. Its been too long.

-Have we ever not had an excellent RB? Damn we had some great ones.

-Jim Kelly was the greatest Bill ever. Ever.

Yes, thank you very much for this.

You could call it a justification video for Reed, or a reminder to all the short term memory HOF voters out there, who only remember the Bills as the team that couldn't win the big game 4 years in a row, that Reed was a very dangerous receiver.

  8. Actually K-9 , though we may never know , if P Johnson does lobby for Brandon" eye gouging defenseless players" Spikes i will not vote for Pepper when Shwaatz gets the call to HC again.

I have a physical dislike of that there hoodlum

No. Once a person does bad things that are unethical and really border on disgusting they dont usually have much chance of getting on the right path.

If its a run stopper you want there is better in the draft.

I dont want any inherently viscous borderline criminal types.

And the locker room strong enough theory? Should rarely if ever be the solve for a proven ass head

Alright, for discussion, let's say they don't go after Spikes. Which other LB would they target in free agency?

  9. Here's my first go at it:

    OLB Khalil Mack Buffalo

    DE Stephon Tuitt Notre Dame

    TE C.J. Fiedorowicz Iowa

    WR Donte Moncrief Mississippi

    DT Caraun Reid Princeton

    RB Storm Johnson Central Florida

CB Bene Benwikere San Jose State

I was given the choice between Mack & Sammy Watkins. Could they both still be around when the Bills are on the clock?

I love Tuitt and I think Reid has a lot of potential. I think the Bills really need more youth and more potential on the D-Line than what they currently have.

I can not believe I did not draft 1 O-Lineman. Guess I am hoping that the Bills will address that position in free agency.
