  1. Yeah, I would think the Panthers would be a good spot for him..they are really, really thin at the position, and have what is percieved to be at least, an elite young QB. I honestly can't believe they haven't really addressed the WR a bit more already. Cleveland could really use him too...but if he has any say as to where he is traded, i can't imagine him wanting to go there... Manziel could be great, or he really could fall flat on his big schnoz.. I know there are better teams, with better playoff chances than the Panthers and Browns, but how much are the 49ers going to be willing to give for Andre Johnson?. I honeslty think his tank is much closer to empty than it is half full...but who knows?

I agree with this statement. That doesn't mean that Johnson can't play anymore, just that he is on the downside.

He still has enough left to give a team that extra added boost.

  2. Yes, and Lawson was gonna switch to DE. I'm wondering if the new plan is to have Lawson stay at strong while Rivers goes to the weak. Lawson had a couple hiccups vs. the run last year, but he can play it as well as Rivers and can provide coverage as well.

    GO BILLS!!!

I hope this is the case. Lawson is far better as an LB and is great against the run. He will not have the same impact as a DE.

  3. There's that too, for sure. I think the total body count was 19 dead US soldiers to 1,000 Somalians. But in the movie there are at least a solid 35 minutes (cumulative time not sequential) of just either master shots or medium shots of what looks like tens of thousands of Somalians being blown to pieces. I think the intent was to show the odds the guys on the ground faced, and it's effective, but it became almost celebratory in stretches which I found to be unsettling in ways I don't think the film intended.

Just my opinion of course, I still love the sound track and will watch it when it's on, so I can't be that offended by it.

Interesting viewpoint. I don't think that's what Scott intended it to be, yet it could be seen that way.

It's still a very well done movie, and indeed a harrowing one as well.

  4. When's the last time you watched it? I love Scott and enjoyed the movie the first time I saw it, but on second and third viewings it's pretty horrific. It's two hours of one sided slaughter depicted as heroism (which, in reality might have been the case, but it doesn't translate to the film, at least for me).

Been awhile since I last viewed it, but I saw it as more of a survival story than heroism.

  5. Getting to Levi would be a burden for Oakland fans. It's already going to be tough enough for Niner fans in San Francisco. A stadium near the current site of Candlestick would have been feasIble to share.

Yeah, but year after year after year, the city of San Francisco could never get anything together to work that out.

Finally Santa Clara stepped up and did something about it.

  6. I just got Sunday Ticket Max for free. This is because I am a new customer of DirecTV though. I just wanted to share my excitement. I've never been able to watch the Bills live on Sunday at my house unless they played the Clowns or Bungles. I am freakishly superstitious, so in my mind this means that they will make the playoffs because I am doing something different to change the mojo. You're welcome.

We are all going to remember this post, Yolo. Be forewarned.

  7. The National Football League thinks it's important for each franchise to have its own home stadium with its own character. We strongly support the efforts to get a new stadium built in Oakland for the Raiders.

    Oakland Raiders as possible co-tenants[edit]

There was a possibility that the 49ers' Bay Area rivals, the Oakland Raiders, might share the stadium, allowing its costs to be split between the two teams.[43] The 49ers[43] and Raiders[44] have publicly said it would be an option if possible, while NFL commissionerRoger Goodell is strongly in favor of the two sharing a stadium.

Mr. Goodell, would you care to explain both of these comments?

  8. Wow, looks cool. Interesting that it will be available on iTunes on demand a month before it opens in theaters...

Which usually means that the distributors know they aren't going to make any real money.

Gilliam's movies are a tough sell to mainstream audiences, and as good an actor as Christoph Waltz is, he's not exactly a star.

    It does look creative.
