Billick, Brian S, Rivera....what happened to Cowher?
TheZone78 replied to DarthICE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
One thing is for sure...if we don't hear about Cowher coming in to Buffalo for an interview in the next 48 hours it's not going to happen. Just my two cents, basing it off of the aggressiveness of Buddy and the rumours of other people starting to hit the airwaves. -
Logic in using Bill Cowher's name in the Press Conference
TheZone78 replied to TheZone78's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't blame them either! Hope it works. Intrigued that Jim and Buddy will sit down next week for a chat. -
I was fortunate to pick up field passes for the game on Sunday and will be right behind the Colts warming up. If I can get some good pictures of some Colts players, let me know if your kids would like a few emailed over. GG

Funniest/Worst/Most Controversial Call You've Ever Seen
TheZone78 replied to Brand J's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
"Just give it to them" -
Hi all... Just thinking aloud here with Sal's information and then watching yesterday's conference. I find it very odd that both Kelly and Thomas both spoke openly of Cowher yesterday. If an individual(s) had prior knowledge of a coaching candidate coming to their perspective teams why would they openly mention it in a press conference before it was official? If an individual(s) was asked their formal opinions by the front office and they were rejected the only way to really get that across to stubborn ownership would be in a public venue like yesterday. If an individual(s) mentions openly who they want as head coach in a formal venue it tells me they have no input or any current knowledge of what direction the team is going to head. Any thoughts?

Bills press conference @2:30-Nix confirmed as new GM
TheZone78 replied to zdro22's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Who is doing the interviewing first and foremost??? John "Dockery and Walker are awesome" Guy was interviewed....I can only hope it was a courtesy interview otherwise there is insanity still brewing deep inside One Bills Drive. -
NFL Total Access just said Brohm is starting. FYI

Can we call one play action pass perhaps? You set the bar high with all that running on the opening series now go downfield...

Revenue sharing is history in the NFL
TheZone78 replied to sullim4's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You want to start to kill revenue sharing and take away the salary cap? Fine...extend free agency to 6 years and cap rookie contracts. As long as TV revenue is still shared and you have a solid front office you can remain competitive (wake up Ralph). My two cents. -
Shanahan met with Bills for 7 hours over 2 days
TheZone78 replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My take on it is this...if Shanahan wanted to take the deal and if Russ wooed him. They would keep things hush hush until the season is over to announce anything so they don't violate interview protocol. What will be interesting to see if how many coaching interviews Shanahan takes place in. If we keep hearing rumours that he's interviewing then it means there is no deal in place. My two cents. -
Thurman says somethings up today.

Gotta love the information age of hysteria! -
I'm not trying to pick on you either....but you've got your 9 million WR in press coverage one on one.....you can see that pre-snap. If I'm the QB on that play guess where I'm looking first!!!!

The Offense has quit on Jauron

I'm also wondering if Jason Peters blew up on the sideline because he was benched for a series or two in the second half. Do you know if he was injured at all? -
Hi all...I read here everyday but don't post very much....here goes... I sat in the 5th level in the end zone. If I'm Lee Evans I'm livid. My god, in the opening series where Losman threw long on third down to Parrish he had Evans for a TD on the other side. Evans had single press coverage and beat his man easily looking for the ball...it never came. If we had an actual NFL QB on the field despite the constant double teaming (I have pictures) he still would have 150+ yards receiving the ball. On the first play of the game with Pennington under centre, I sarcastically yelled out HI CHAD and I bet he could hear me. It was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. The crowd for the day was probably 55% Dolphins fans to 45% Bills fans. The stadium had a lot of seats empty. Particularly in the upper level down the sidelines. There was no atmosphere at all during the game. No electricity and having attended quite a few games in Buffalo it was a feeble attempt at an NFL game. Also, Roscoe Parrish is an absolute joke as a receiver, he never gets open. Why don't we start to break in James Hardy so he can reduce the learning curve for next year?
-
Even the Miami Dolphins practice squad would blow out the best that any CFL team could put forward. Talent goes where the money and coaching are. I'd rather drive 3 hours, four times a year to Buffalo then watch any CFL nonsense on TV any day. Oh wait, I already do that. BTW, if I had a nickel for everytime somebody has asked me if I'm going to the Toronto games I could buy the Bills myself. Why would I go to Toronto with all the corporate beatniks inside a damn dome to watch the Bills play a football amid a mass of 53,000 non Bills fans when I can go tailgate down in Buffalo and watch football outside like the game was meant to be played amongst 73,000 screaming die hards?
-
Agreed.......but to me, having Hall of Fame talent and being a Hall of Famer are two different things. Evans has the potential this season to solidify himself amongst the top 10 receivers in the league.
-
Jonathan? Is that you? His Hall of Fame comment came on the heels of when I asked Joyner who is the better receiver straight up. It was no contest in his mind. Cheers
-
Not any more........it's game set match and buried. It was definately fun to win a highly contested debate and have national scouts take your side 100%. Now I don't know what to do with myself.........
