  1. 11/7/14. Next one is July 11, 2107....
  2. Rice's NFL decision needs to revisited... That was an ugly video and it the decision should be revisited... I remember before the interwebs when OJ was charged with domestic violence and said it was just a spat and then years later on trial, it was revealed at the earlier time he beat her bad. Welcome to the club Mr. Rice, you're now branded, as you should be.
  3. This is all blather... It is Pegula's bid to win unless the 'Trust' and NFL decide to keep yanking his 'you know whatnot' and he simply flips the bird at them and says the f bomb you... Pegula has Greenburg running this bid, Pegula money to influence to make sure the Bills stay long term is being spread now influentially to power brokers... Toronto has no chance, Who wins in the end?... Buffalo keeps their team...Politicos can brag about saving the team and the shale fracking industry opens up shop in NYS. Profits dwarfing the cost of the team versus his now viable and profitable land holdings in NYS... It;s a game being played out... But in the end, Buffalo keeps the team and Pegula is a savior... Which I applaud... Said my peace...
  4. Been loving read all these passionate replies to "Our Team"... Thurman was right in 01/13... with the MOFO tweet.. It's our team and in the end, it will be our team... no interlopers... Gotta Billieve!!!
  5. If you go to sportsnet.ca (a Rogers entity, their ESPN)..no journalist chatter about the Bills... Kinda good to see that worse of would be a leak 'leaked'...
  6. I'm a TWC cable payer... Baffled... why would a company run these company promotional commercials... on every channel all the the time on their system?.. Umm... we are already paying for this... I get that wireless is tomorrow's today, but if I literally change channels.. Cowher is there selling to those to already have bought... Just a rant, but Cowher has sold the soul... (hey at least he'll be warm.. it's not Pittsburgh..)...
  7. pfft to the original poster on this topic... go to Philly and boo Santa Claus...
  8. If Pegula buys, we are guaranteed long time ownership here in Buffalo much like the Hunt, Kraft and Jones family... His wife and children seem like the types that maintain future ownership in the future...
  9. Gotta go with 'Saving Silverman'.... looking back it was a funny but insipid movie, but I'll watch it any time it comes across a cable if I'm flipping through... I was up early 3 weeks ago and 'Eraserhead' was on one the Showtime channels... First saw that movie in '82... and well it was strange then, still today... 32 years on...
  10. 40 fish and 40 loaves.. looks like a 'fisherman' to me... taking care of the flock...
  11. Modell brought in Bisicotti, regardless of how Modell hightailed it to Charm City... he set up the future... and Biscoitti... is against transfers...
  12. I don't post often... so I'll defer to those do. Judging by the leaks if it does seem like a potential owner with local ties will prevail. A lot good posts in the thread along with a healthy skepticism, which is fair. The thing that intrigues me is if Golisano becomes majority owner for a set period of time and brings in a minority partner with an agreement to buy the majority out (Golisano is no spring chicken) upon a certain time with all the wishes all of a new stadium and binding lease... I'm liking it. My two cents...
  13. Oh... what the heck... have at it... no football...
  14. Well done putting themselves in public after the horror that they only know, they represent the all that is good about the human spirit.
  15. So Poojer had a 'pooper' problem at the time and he couldn't wait a few minutes.... Dr. Freud will see you now... and please no blankies during your session
  16. A man is dead, reports linking the TE not favorable, the leaks by authorities aren't leaks... evidence spawns them. Nothing good here, a man is dead and regardless if the suspect iis a 'Pat'... a man is dead here
  17. Your not going to shoot me for my misplaced post?, I thought 'off the wall' didn't involve the Bills... my bad
  18. Left, Right or Moderate, Let us get rid of hyperbole...
  19. Daffy all the way... I got a tattoo of the "fierce back mallard, the noblest of all beasts" in 1984...
  20. The Bills home games are against: New England, Miami, the New York Jets, Baltimore, Cincinnati, Dallas, the New York Giants and Denver.
  21. Since they are a sovereign nation can they skirt the blackout? Just curious...
  22. Holding off death Doctors - and booster club's AED - save lineman's life 11:03 PM CDT on Saturday, September 23, 2006 Matt Nader, 6-6, 300 pounds, a top Texas recruit, a kid who dreamed of playing in the NFL, asked his Austin Westlake coach if he'd just blocked the right guy on the last drive. And then Matt fell on his back, his feet up on the bench where he'd been sitting. Nothing had prepared Matt's parents for what was to come. Paul Nader and Barbara Bergin are both doctors, and they still had no idea. No history of heart problems. Nothing on an echocardiogram. No drugs they knew of. Nothing. Up in the visitors section at A&M Consolidated in College Station, they didn't even know he'd passed out until told by other parents. "We ran as fast as we could," Paul said. When they got to their son, his breathing was shallow, almost nonexistent. Paul lifted his son's wrist and felt no pulse. He asked Barbara to check his neck. Nothing. Frightened beyond words, Paul and Barbara nonetheless had the wherewithal to do what was needed. Paul thumped Matt's chest with his fist and started compressions. Barbara did mouth-to-mouth. Next thing you know, doctors are all around them, a perk of living in one of Austin's most affluent areas. Doctors like to live there, and they have football players, too. One doctor at the game was a cardiologist, Paul Tucker. As he took over, he called for the school's automated external defibrillator, or AED. Westlake boosters had bought the AED, which goes for $1,500 to $2,000, four years earlier. They'd never used it. They needed it last Friday. A doctor told the Austin American-Statesman that Matt, his face pale, lips blue, had "the look of death." A trainer cut off Matt's jersey and pads. He wiped the sweat off Matt's chest. Then Tucker applied the AED pads. A light went on, indicating a distressed heart. Tucker told everyone to back away. Matt's chest heaved with the jolt of electricity. Tucker felt a pulse. Matt's eyelids fluttered. "Did I get to play?" he asked as they loaded him in the ambulance. "How did I do?" Matt Nader is doing just fine, thank you. They still don't know why he suffered a ventricular fibrillation, even after three days in the hospital and a battery of tests. Could have been his size and the heat and the 16-play drive. Maybe a reaction to a bee sting. They have no answers. Doctors installed a defibrillator in his chest Monday. He won't play football anymore, though Texas will honor its offer with a medical scholarship. Losing his dream is "a huge blow." But his parents also console him with the information that less than two out of a hundred victims survive such an episode outside a hospital without brain damage at the least. "I guess the real succinct way of summarizing it," Paul said, "was that in order for Matt to survive, all the things happened that needed to happen. "And also because an AED was there." As for their son's future, they'd been telling him all along he needed to prepare for the time he couldn't play football anymore. "Now," Paul told him, "get ready for the next 50 years." Here's to life after football, Matt. A long life. E-mail ksherrington@dallasnews.com
