I get what you’re saying but I don’t think that’s how it works. Teams grade players and the draft plays out based on that. It was considered weak draft leading up to the draft. With that said who is the DK Metcalf of this draft? Unreal physical talent but lacking production or good film?

Good names. I’m not very high on Lazard and Hardman. Decent players, no different than our guys we have now. WR1 Wilson vs Diggs? Diggs is better. Davis is better depth but he’s getting trader released. RB? Eh. ACL injury to Hall evens this out. Maybe even puts Bills ahead.

I don’t see it happening unless he gets injured. At worst he’s a game manager and throws 20-30TDs with less than 10 INt’s. Jets are contenders next year.

The last “weak” WR draft was the 2019 draft. A lot of great WRs were drafted that year. Ive considered this a weak class but that’s based on the top of the 1st round. I don’t see a true WR1 prospect but there will be WR1’s drafted in this draft.

Slot WRs don’t go particularly high, the top 3 WRs are slot WRs. Bills need slot WR. Bills will have to think about a trade up around 20, that’s when we start to see WRs going. If none are gone by 20 do you stay put? If 1 is gone by 20 it’s going to be decision time.

There’s never 27 1st round grades but magically whoever the Bills draft will be a 1st rounder on their board I’m sure. Wink wink. AJ Epenesa was a 1st round grade Beane said. I don’t believe him, but that’s what he said. I’ve been wondering about slot WR value. That’s what the Bills want and need. But value wise those guys are typically mid round picks. Times are changing though with most teams running 11 personnel. This draft the top 3 WRs are slot guys.

I never said this. For one Im not an insider. It was Sal that said he believes they would want Drew Sanders over Jack Campbell. I then posted Drew Sanders is our guy in the “rumors” thread.

I personally think if they can’t get JSN, Flowers, or Addison they trade for Hopkins. Maybe they think Downs can have instant impact at slot WR also?

I didn’t say Sanders at 27. Sanders or Simpson round 2. DT comes into play at 27 if Oliver is moved and Hopkins is brought in.

If we look at Gabe as a WR2/3 he’s perfect. Watching WR contracts rise I have no issue with him getting something in the neighborhood of Alan Lazard. Get it done and look to upgrade around him. $12 million isn’t bad for a WR2/3. We can comfortably have a Diggs/Hopkins combo for 1-2 years also if they choose.

Pick 27 is a 2nd round graded player. I would definitely be looking to trade down but if their guy is there and they fear he goes in the next few picks they will draft him.

Replacing him from 2 years ago. Beane said the plan didn’t happen last year because Crowder was hurt. McKenzie was supposed to be in a similar role he had 2 years ago. Harty is the McKenzie replacement. They are still looking for the Beasley replacement. It could be Hopkins since he’s excellent out of the slot. Diggs and Hopkins can line up anywhere. They won’t go into the season without significantly upgrading the talent at slot WR. Shakir, Harty, and Sherfield will all add competition but there will be a significant addition added.

He’ll be signed this summer. Going no where. He’s their WR 2/3 of the now and future.

Bills are drafting JSN, Flowers, or Addison. They will trade up. Downs is a possibility. They’re looking to replace Beasley in the slot, not replace Gabe Davis.

Epenesa was looking frail the last 2 years. Here he looks like he’s added mass but I’m guessing he will cut around camp time. I don’t think he or the Bills know what weight is best for him. Not going to help his career.
