This guy is going to be a monster next year. McDermott has an entire offseason to figure out how to get him on the field. Why not try Taron Johnson at safety next season? He seems like the perfect option. He’s getting older.

Think about how crazy that sounds. I have to listen to his post game comments. He’s basically saying they ignored the pressure front because they didn’t actually blitz all game. That is just one of the wildest explanations I’ve ever heard. Any good play caller is setting up their next move. Spags is the best. Plus he is known to send these blitzes in these moments. I’m just getting more frustrated.

Our RG blocked nobody and the QB got drilled because of it on 4th down that cost us the game. As some that loves to talk X and O’s, this is driving me insane today.

Did you know QBs call protections before tonight? Josh has gotten very good at protections and checks.

Bingo! When KC didn’t show man I’m calling timeout. I don’t like what could happen. I didn’t hear the Torrence comment that was posted about them bluffing that blitz all game but you can’t believe they will bluff on 4th down. This is the game.

At least we saved our timeouts because we all knew we’d stop Mahomes and get the ball back. Shakir is basically the outlet there. I just don’t get the play. I think this will drive Allen crazy all off season. I’m not sure what the plan was if the blitz came.

That’s a new one. It’s too loud to protect the QB on 4th down and Super Bowl! 😂 Call a timeout! And the ball was curving as it came down. I think it was a ball he thinks he should catch but it was not an easy catch.

Last thing I’ll say. Joe Brady calls a play. We have 5 blockers. They show 6 rushers. From what I’m reading here from a lot of people is our options are to hope they don’t blitz or surrender and accept defeat if they blitz.

Thats not how it works. There are hots built into for this stuff. You set protection and you have your hots if they do come. The protection set gave no chance to get to the hots. There is no way Joe Brady designed the play this way. They thought KC was bluffing and weren’t ready for the blitz.

If you’re snapping the ball with 6 rushers potentially coming you have a hot ready. They literally just thought KC was bluffing. Thats unacceptable in my opinion.

It’s how I love to call defense. But there are ways to beat it built into the play. First is setting the right protection. It was a mess that Allen almost saves with an amazing throw. Timeout should’ve been called by coach imo. Thats hindsight but if im the coach looking at 6 rushers vs 5, im calling timeout.

There wasn’t anyone on the left to come. The numbers were to the right. But they thought they were bluffing. Now maybe he slid it to Chris Jones. That’s actually my guess. Chris Jones is the guy you want extra attention to. So they ignore the pressure look and thought KC was bluffing. Thats just unacceptable to me. Allen is going to think about it all offseason.

Allen made an unbelievable play only he can make. But it’s about fundamentals of football and execution. This is why we haven’t beaten the Chiefs. In these moments we don’t execute. Goes back to not squib kicking. There’s always these little things that turn into big things.

I don’t believe he said that. He said they showed it but never came. That’s not a good excuse either. You’re always prepared. Especially in that moment.
