Russell Wilson to start Friday
ajzepp replied to Thirty Year Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm with ya...with the premium value on the QB spot, if you have a guy like this sitting there, you gotta take him earlier than you would other positions. I really hate to put so much stock in the Gruden interview, but it was OBVIOUS that this kid, if nothing else, was TOTALLY worth taking a shot on. Of all the physical tools he has, when his brain was on display it was just a thing of beauty. Gruden is one of the brightest minds in the game and he was just blown away by the kid. The way he answered the questions and seemed to have such a solid grasp on the concepts that were being discussed was really remarkable. You always see young kids promoting themselves and trying to say all the right things, but with Russell it was totally different. There was a level of belief and confidence there that just doesnt exist with many players. The level of sacrfice he was ready to make in order to be a success was very convincing to me, and the minute that show was over I was just dying to draft this guy. He would have been such a good fit for us, especially with the cold weather experience in Wisconsin. Oh well, nothing we can do about it now...aside from when he plays us, I hope the guy lights it up...he made me want to root for him. -
I have to admit, I was surprised at the tone that Welker took in a couple of the interview I saw earlier in the offseason about his contract. He was on NFL Total Access one time, as well, and he was very subtly acting like a douche. I'm almost always on the players side in terms of money, but I dont think they should make it a public thing when they are negotiating and/or unahppy with their deal. Seemed like Welker was thinking he was the smartest guy in the room and could drum up a bit of leverage by making veiled comments through the media. As much as I hate the Pats, Kraft and Belichick aren't stupid. If they do move him, that can't be something Brady would be happy about....which I think is great

lmao

I guess Welker rubbed them the wrong way this offseason when he ran his mouth about money?

LOL, my dog just gave me a funny look when I did one of those laugh/choke/hiccup noises yes....yes it is ain't gonna help, Billy Boy!!!!!! Muah ha ha ha ha!!!!!
-
T1 Teddy....I've converted my friend's pup to headphones. I just wish he's stop asking me to play "Who Let the Dogs Out!?"
-
Just cause it's been so long, I rewound that Brady sack about four times...he's just prancing around back there like a little doe in the pasture....and then *WHAMMO!!!!!!*
-
Well that's nice he left you a piece lol. My dog is a carbaholic...he loves getting the bread from the counter and pounding it. I've never seen a dog that loves bread (and pizza crust) this much.

That is so friggin amazing...

Jim, i'm sorry to do this to you, but I have to support RkFast on this one....I have suspected Jim in Anchorage of being a non-clicker since 1999. Although Jim has never been caught directly, based on some of his vague and often incomplete responses, one is only left to assume that he is guilty as charged. I hope that Jim will take this opportunity and set the record straight, but until that time comes, I have to conclude that Jim may in fact be a non-clicker.

In case anyone wants to know what happened with the HOH comp after the show went off air tonight....

I don't have to imagine it...I'm an RN and have a permanent disability as a result of an on the job injury. I was literally in the process of attempting to save a life...the pt coded while on the bedside commode. I have to work a cubicle job now as a result, or I can work in a hospital in a mgmt position...but my bedside career as an RN is over.

I just hope Joe got a HUGE dose of "how stupid am I???" when they put him on the block tonight. He could have been part of a solid alliance to go against the quack pack fux, but instead he chose a little pink pacifier and "comfort" for a few days instead of having some balls and taking a shot to win this game. It's so damn stupid...I don't know what the deal is with these people. Jenn is in the exact same position as Joe, and even after seeing Joe be the very first one they reach for to put on the block, she probably still won't get the clue. Meanwhile, Dan, Danielle, Brit and Shane just all coast to the final four while these MORONS just sit around wating for the slaughter.

You guys want to hear something that MY dog (Obi the standard poodle) did the other night? So I have him out for a quick walk-n-poop before calling it a night...it's like 11:45pm or somewhere thereabouts. I noticed that there were a couple police cars pulling up outisde my apartment building and heading toward the breezeway near where my apartment is. Anyway, as this one cop starts to walk by, he sees Obi and says "wow, that's the biggest poodle ever" (he gets that a lot). Obi can be really defensive in the apartment, but outside of it he's the most tolerant, friendly dog on earth. Well the cop reaches out his hand for the whole "here, sniff it...I'm cool" ritual, when Obi literally SNAPS at the guy! I was farking HORRIFIED!!!! Thankfully the cop has very good reflexes and pulled his hand away, and then as he calmly walked by commented how "it's okay, nobody likes cops"...but let's just say that Obi and I had a "come to Jesus" meeting after that, as they say here in the south. So you can bet he's getting a mug shot for that site...

I'm more offended by the comment that Jeter is the most respected athlete of our time! -

The thing about Wilson, though, is that it was pretty obvious that he has a first round brain, first round motivation, first round arm, first round accuracy, first round success as a starter, etc, etc, etc. The only knock was his height. Hindsight is 20/20, but considering all of his strengths and the fact that QBs have gone earlier than projected the last couple of drafts, the Bills really should have taken a shot with their 3rd pick. During the Gruden interview, this guy was not only able to talk about the system he ran at Wisconsin, but he was able to discuss in specific detail the system he ran at NC State (or wherever he went before Wisconsin). I'm sorry, but take away the height thing and you just don't get kids who are THIS solid in so many areas coming down the line very often. It just seemed pretty obvious that he was going to become a significant player in this league, and he's already starting to show flashes. Maybe he'll end up being another failed QB, but I HIGHLY doubt it. -
Last night was great on the live feeds...I found a site where they stream two of the cams, so I had it on for a good part of the night. Tons of drama going down! Shane is definitely the worst player I've seen in a long time...the guy never has an original thought, and if you watch him all he does is agree with whoever he's talking to! He never actually makes a point and then defends it....he just lets others tell him what to think and do and he does it. It's been funny seeing some of the recent diary sessions from other players, cause it's pretty clear they are feeling the same way. I think you're right about Boogs...he's likely going home tomorrow.
