I don't know what is goign on, but on several of my favorite shows (Breaking Bad, Sons of Anarchy, and Walking Dead), the main female character is annoying as all hell. Can't they write a part for a woman that doesn't entail her being a lying whore?

Looks good...will check it out this weekend on Vudu.

On that note....back to Off the Wall for me!

Sage and JB....no, thank YOU guys! I'm not always the most articulate chap, but that's exactly what got me excited....Shep is a man among boys in terms of maturity and attitude. This kid CARES!! How often do you hear the same old canned answers, the same flat affect when players give their press conferences, etc. This guy was candid AND respectful. He loves his teammates AND he wants more out of them. This kid gets it, and I'm proud he wears our colors....I really hope he continues to improve and becomes one of the top MLBs we've ever had. I really hope some of you guys check out this interview...we need about 21 more guys like this.
-
This. I just have a feeling that, based on what Shep said, this team will get some things figured out, particularly on D. I"m not expecting a win, but I am expecting a change for the better.

IB67 seems like a nice enough guy, but he annoys the hell out of me....last thing I give a crap about is a disappointed Packers fan

lol, thanks for the $5....I bet my friend that the first response would be negative

(we seem to do this a lot, don't we?) Top of the list for me - Dean, Paul, Cincy, Dan Gross, and Taterhill. Only thing funnier than a Crap Heaving Monkey was a Carp Heaving Donkey.

So like many of you guys, I'm just plain worn out by this team. It doesn't matter if it's the lack of talent one year, underachieving the next year, just plain not giving a crap yet another year....this team finds way more ways to lose than they do to win and I'm honest to God just sick of it. That being said, I sit here before you tonight rejuvenated...thanks to the John Murphy Show on WGR. I usually leave work around 7:45pm and I listen to John on the way home. Sometimes he has guests that are interesting, sometimes he's more interesting than the guests, and other times he'll have on a guy who is seemingly high or drunk like how Frank Wycheck sounded a few weeks ago. Well tonight I not only left closer to 8pm (it's just not as much fun as skipping out a few mins early, right?) and on top of that one of Atlanta's famous "1-car accidents that has to tie up the entire expressway because everyone has to slow down and look at it" happened. I turned on John's show, which had just come back from "halftime", and he's got Kelvin Sheppard on there. What transpired over the next 15 or 20 mins just blew me away. I heard one of the smartest, most candid interviews I've ever heard - not just among Bills players past or present, but EVER....in the entire NFL! I listened to Kelvin talk about how mad and hurt he was after the loss to the Titans, with John corroborating this by saying that he saw Kelvin stay in the locker room with a look on his face for well over an hour after the game and how he'd never seen Kelvin like that. Shep said that he comes from a culture (LSU) where they don't play to "position" themselves, or to try and get to .500....he comes from a culture where they go out each week with one common goal of winning, and that when they don't get it done you see every single player mad as hell about it. When Shep was a rookie last year, he said he was shocked how guy seemed to just go about their day after a loss, taking their shower, and heading home or whatever, and how this just didn't sit well with him in any way. Murph asked him how he felt about being taken out of the game depending on the package. He hates it, but he understands it. He wants to be out on the field, especially when it's our top rival, but instead of moping or complaining, he watches Barnett's back and tries to tell him what he sees while Barnett is out there. Further, this kid knows the game in and out. He talked about being gap-solid, needing to rely on your "brothers" to "make the play and not try to cut across two gaps like you're superman and get taken out of position." Murph asked him about whether or not he wishes the defense was more aggressive, and if he would like to spend more time as a pass rusher instead of defending the pass. "Of course, every defensive guy will say they want to rush the QB, but if you're gonna bring the house then you BETTER get there in 2-3 seconds", he said. "The average NFL QB will locate and get the ball to his receiver in 3-4 seconds, and you gotta respect your corners". He has a lot of respect for Wannstedt and says that his schemes are solid, but the players need to play smarter and better. Say what you want about this kid's talent, or if he has or hasn't lived up to his potential as of today, but he's a winner. He's a passionate, articulate kid who LOVES this game. I'll take a team full of guys like this, and hell, especially if we're going to have the damn worse defense in the NFL, for fux sake leave this kid on the field!! After that, former Bills safety Matt Bowen came on. Apparently he writes for a football-oriented paper and is true student of the game. I'm getting sick of typing and you're all probably sick of reading, so I'll just encourage you to go listen to it. The guy says A LOT of very smart things and he's like a mini-Mayock, except instead of player evaluation he's focused on the Xs and Os of the game. He was on the show about 8:20pm (Shep was on at 8p) and it's one of the best segments I've ever heard on the show. Okay, that's it. But the point is that this 40m of Bills talk radio has cured me....I'm ready for Sunday dammit and I have a feeling we're going to see a different Bills team.

I hope they make 100, too! (common ground lol)

Love me some Peggy/Katy...just can't stand Gemma lol

Good point. I think what I miss is a little more of the build up. It's like with Breaking Bad at the end of S5...there was just SO much of a release when the season finale went down that it was overwhelming...to this day many of us have the imagery of that last episode on our heads. The drama and tension built up over time and the payoff in the end was VERY meticulously planned and hard to come by. With Sons it's just like, "oh, they killed another guy" lately. I dunno, last night just didn't sit well with me for some reason. Maybe next week I'll be over it.

I agree, and that's the part that I think is BS. Disagree with the guy, get a little frustrated that he doesn't always do what fans wish he'd do, but some people take it way too far. Clearly it's gotten to the guy and that's a shame. He doesn't deserve it, IMO. Hell, I wish he would have offed JarJar in the 2nd prequel, but I don't hate the guy for not doing it. I'll also admit that I don't think he's the right guy for the job when it comes to making a movie that has universal appeal. He did it once with the first one, but not sure he really got it right after that. So you'll have kids who LOVE phantom menace, just as you'll have adults who hate it. The prequels were very polarizing. Hell, even ROTJ from the OT was polarizing. But it's his art and I believe he can do with it as he pleases. It's really REALLY hard for me to take a cynical approach with George, more so with him than any other entertainment figure actually. lol....fair point. So Disney has control over the SW franchise entirely now?? I'm shocked if George gave up his control over his own work....I thought he was selling Lucasfilm and the rights for future SW films. If he let it all go, that really bothers me actually.

I don't know what happened, but I found myself really frustrated with tonight's episode....it feels like they're dropping the ball on these story lines and just offing everyone instead. I feel like I'm watching the same thing over and over again, whereas I thought things seemed pretty fresh and interesting when they initiated these plots and subplots. It seems like it's, "event happens....Sons confused over who dun it....sons find out who dun it....sons kill....rinse, repeat". The whole "revenge" concept loses it's appeal when they play this card over and over again every week. I'd rather see them stop taking the easy way out with the writing and actually DEVELOP some of these ideas. I feel like tonight was a turning point for this show, and my thoughts are that they need to get back to establishing tension and drama and stop just solving everything with bullets. It also feels like they're doing the same thing with Gemma and Jax/Tara....Gemma helps with kids and all is well....then Gemma screws up....Jax/Tara get mad and threaten to take kids away....everyone makes nice....and then it all starts over again.

Rob Ryan, the next head coach of the buffalo bills.

The main reason I love this idea, even more than the fact that Rob seems to be able to walk that fine line of being a disciplinarian and a "players coach", is that I love the Ryan philosophy of defense. How can you look at defenses that Buddy ran like the '85 Bears, then the late 80s Eagles, the '93 Oilers, and even into the late 90s Cardinals when he took over. Those defenses WRECKED people. Rob Ryan, probably even more than Rex since he doesn't have all the media sideshow nonsense going on, was raised on that defense. It's part of his DNA. This is the style I thought we were getting with Greggo, but it never came to fruition. But this is EXACTLY the style of defense that I truly believe will thrive in B-lo. You rush one more player than the offense can account for...make the QB reads and line calls a guessing game...and put the QB on his arse as often as possible. Will they hit a play here and there? Yep, of course. It's a risk/reward scheme. But you just can't argue with the success it's had over the years when the coach behind it is knows wtf he's doing. -
I don't know why I stopped watching S1 after the first few episodes...it's not that I didn't like them, I think that it just seemed a bit unpalatable to have THAT dark of an element in my system over and over. As much as I love watching shows on DVD at my own pace (i.e. as fast as I want to watch them), this may be the one show where I really think I would have to pace myself lol.

I honestly don't have a single ounce of disappointment with the guy....I have so many amazing memories that center on Star Wars in some way, shape or form that I would feel like a selfish, unappreciative jerk if I did feel disappointment. I've tried to understand those who are seemingly just so pissed at the guy for some of the decisions he's made, but I can't get there. I can understand being a LITTLE annoyed that he hasn't released the original 1977 version of Star Wars on dvd/bluray....but all this hatred and vitriol toward the guy is really uncalled for.
-
Very cool...I thought Dexter was on Netflix streaming, but I guess not....was really considering going back through past seasons since I'm enjoying it so much currently. Might be worth it to rent them or find the DVDs/blurays for cheap.
-
Are all of the seasons this good? I still remain surprised how much I'm enjoying this season, even without really knowing much about the show previously. I look forward to it every Sunday.
-
Apparently Lucas was quoted by the New York Times a while back stating that he wasn't going to make any more SW films because he was he was getting tired of people being so negative and unappreciative. I don't know if this has anything to do with that, but hopefully those who have become anti-Lucas over the years can finally stfu. As for me, I'm glad George raped my childhood...for the amount of enjoyment he's brought to my life, I could never re-pay him.

Tom Brady makes a cameo? (I know, you said not figuratively....just can't help myself sometimes)

His players seem to respond to him as a DC, that's partly why I think he'd be a good choice. I just think he'd get some things done around here and he sure as hell wouldn't tolerate players giving half-assed efforts on defense. -

I would love it. I think Rex Ryan is good for the game...having his brother as coach of the Bills would be awesome. Gotta figure the NFL would love having that, as well. I don't think it'll happen, but I"d welcome it for sure.
