Geesh, stories like this make me severely nauseous. I just cannot deal with hearing about animal abuse, and it is one of the few things in life that triggers my temper to such a degree that I pray I'm never witness to it in person. I'll never understand how anyone can take pleasure in causing an innocent life such suffering and pain. To me, it's one of the clearest examples of the existence of true evil. I'm with Tom's wife on this one, too.

Those plays are pretty nice, but here is what I consider the greatest play in baseball history.... Jose Canseco "catch"

As Lana and many, many, many other women can attest to, I have had a bit of a snoring issue for a while now. As some of you know, I had a pretty severe back injury back about 7 years ago and it's been a real struggle to get my physical health back ever since. My tolerance for activity is reduced, and subsequently I've gained a fair bit of weight since the incident. One of the common problems associated with weight gain is snoring and obstructive sleep apnea. So anyway, over the past couple of years I've been having more warning signs of impaired sleep pop up, and I finally went for a sleep study last night. For those who don't know, a sleep study is where you are hooked up to all sorts of wires, electrodes, and electronic equipment and your sleep is analyzed in its entirety for one night. As I was getting settled in by the nurse, she looked at me and said, "I'm going to go ahead and measure you for a mask and then leave it here by the bed just in case your oxygen level drops out." Now I was pretty sure I had some apnea going on, but I wasn't THAT worried about my oxygen bottoming out because I typically wake up when I have an episode of apnea. Well, after struggling to get to sleep on my own for a couple of hours, I must have finally dozed off into a deep sleep. The next thing I remember is not just the one nurse, but another fellow dude nurse who came with her. They were preparing the mask she had left next to the bed earlier in the night, and I immediately asked, "wow, how low did it drop?" She looked back and me and said, "well, I had the alarm set on the pulse ox (device that measures the oxygen saturation of your red blood cells) at 59." Having measured the oxygen saturation on hundreds of patients over the years, I knew that what she was saying was that my oxygen saturation, which is usually between 92-100% in a normal, healthy individual, had dropped below 59%. The last time I saw someone with a sat that low, they ended up in the morgue a few hours later. Naturally I freaked out quite a bit, as I never expected that my oxygen was doing that, but I'm just glad that I took the steps to have the sleep study done before I paid a more severe price than some daytime sleepiness and disruptive snoring. Sleep apnea is very serious and can result in severe cardiovascular complications including heart attack and stroke, high blood pressure, and the increased likelihood of falling asleep while driving. I'm posting a couple of resources below in case you guys want to read about it a little more, but I hope you'll all take this condition very seriously. If you (or your wife, girlfriend, etc) think you might have an issue with snoring and or apnea, go talk to your doctor and see if you're a candidate for a sleep study. Most insurance plans will cover it, and it could literally save your life. http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE57H0CP20090818 http://www.webmd.com/sleep-disorders/sleep...th-risks?page=2 http://www.sleepapnea.org/

Same here, man. Favre has been my favorite non-Bill player (in any sport) since he took over for the Magic Man back in the day and started playing catch with Mr. Sharpe every Sunday afternoon. The guy is a winner and as you said, he's a throwback to a time when a different breed of QB played the game. If this really is it for him, I'm still going to hold out hope that his ankle continues to improve and maybe he gets called in later in the season to help a team during the stretch run when their QB goes down. Could you imagine Aaron Rodgers popping an achilles in week 12....Mike McCarthy makes a call to #4....and the Favre comes back to football mecca to lead his once beloved Packers to another Superbowl? Yeah, I know....won't happen....but then again, in the words of Randy Moss, "hey, this is Brett FAVRE out here! I got to see this!" Long Live Favre!!!

Pretty sure I could suit up and abuse the players we have at the LT spot right now, too. I hope Maybe shows us something, but not getting my hopes up. I get the impression he feels his money was earned already by his success in college, and doesn't exactly view it like he's got a career in front of him. I hope I'm wrong, but the guy just seems like a bust.

Sunday Practice, O-line, D-line drills

I think we need to get Maybin out of that 4-pt stance. I'd much rather see him standing up rushing off the edge. -

You can even carry that out to preseason games, too...a lot of the times, a team will look like a world beater in the preseason only to look like poop once the real bullets fly, and vice versa. -

I'll be happy if Maybe can do anything of value this season. Even if it's just Poz throwing him into the ball carrier, that's more value than we got out of him last season. -
That's weird....maybe his weight is distributed differently? Does he have a huge arse? Is he a hunchback? lol Oh well, I just hope the guy can contribute....I like this draft class, and we need at least a few of them to play well at this level.

He's right about the same size as Ray Lewis....nothing wrong with his physical size....are you saying he PLAYED like he was too small to be effective? Hopefully we won't need him to be a factor this year anyway.

So I don't know if any of you guys know Alki David, but he's an eccentric billionaire living in California. He's 42 y.o. but loves doing pranks, gags, and challenges. Anyway, he started a website several months ago called Battlecam.com and once or twice a month he runs contests online. Tonight at 9pm PACIFIC time is the latest contest....the Battlecam Karaoke Contest. All you need is a webcam, mic, and thick skin, cause this is one TOUGH crowd! If anyone decides to participate and try to win some cash, let me know and I'll vote for you! Alki and Jen's Promo

Yep, could have easily been something like a fat embolism, which can happen with any break or crushing injury of a bone...could be a variety of things though, I suppose Geesh....just unreal. I'm not saying this applies to this particular cop, but I know down here in the south there tend to be these "hot shot" police people who think their stojan doesn't stink. I appreciate the fact that they have a high risk job that doesn't make them rich, but that's just no excuse for haphazzardly placing peoples' lives at risk by being a pompous idiot.

The more I think about it, the more it infuriates me. Some of you guys may be familiar with Mendon Ponds Park in the Rochester burbs. I grew up literally right across the street from it, and one of my favorite things to do in the summer was head over with some friends and throw around the football, or take my girl over there and chill out on some blankets under the sun. The MINUTE a car left the road, it would be a certainty that you'd hit/run over someone....I just can't believe a cop would be so stupid as to drive up on the grass. Then to think that she appeared 'OK' after being run over, only to crash and not survive the trip to the hospital? That is really sad.

Provolone is the most underrated cheese, IMO.

I don't know if it will translate into wins, but methinks this is the first coach of 'substance' since we have Marv up in here. I love that he's old school, but he's not trying to be someone he's not (e.g. Greggo the bullhorn). He seems to be understanding when it's called for, and tough and disciplined when it's needed. I like the things he says and I hope...I REALLY hope....this is our last coaching hire for a while.

Wow, that's just awful...I couldn't imagine how that woman's family must feel
