  1. I would love that, man...I have the Bills backers all over my facebook acct now, so I should know where you guys are for each event...Pretty sure my schedule at work will continue to allow me off on Sundays, so hope to hang out with you all!
  2. That was a bit of a shocker to me, too lmao
  3. How did that work out for ya? I heard sinus surgery is a B word, especially they go to remove all the packing and bandages...what was your experience like?
  4. Lana has issues with nocturnal emissions
  5. Amen, my brotha....gotta get my ass back healthy again. I hate being heavy and inactive....Not getting any younger, either!
  6. excellent point!
  7. Wow, I totally forgot about Reggie White....and he was just in his 40s, wasn't he? Thanks for the link to your thread....somehow I missed that one, I guess. Glad yours ended up not too severe...how the hell did you sleep for five hours with all that **** attached to you? lol As for Lana, she needs to have a procedure that will GIVE her OAA, otherwise known as "obstructive ass apnea"
  8. Based on some of the times I've read your posts in the past (Lost thread, etc) it seems like you and I are wired similarly when it comes to how we process things emotionally. It's amazing how much anger can well up inside when it comes to animal cruelty. I'm not a violent person at all, so sometimes it catches me off guard as to how strongly I feel hatred toward the abuser.
  9. Good lookin' mutt! Kudos to you and your wife for giving him some love
  10. lol, exactly. I'll take my lawn chair and a coke and just sit there enjoying the last few minutes of Hotlanta sunshine
  11. Me too....I feel bad for some of the folks I've cared for. No family and friends visit...no quality of life...just waiting until their body gives out
  12. Wow, that pic of the "P-51 Bomber in Flight" is stunning!
  13. I feel the same way. It's like one of my HS teachers used to say back in the day, "if we end up in WWIII, I want to be right at ground zero where one of the nukes hits....I don't want to be here after the fact, arms falling off and growing extra heads." And since I've seen first hand how some staff treat the most impaired patients, that's even more reason not to prolong things.
  14. LOL, I can't see it here at work either, but I remember the exploding bird play so well that I can replay it in my head with ease lol....I remember hearing about it the first time and was thinking it would be kind of sad, but then when I saw the damn thing just EXPLODE I started laughing so hard my stomach hurt! It also reminds me of how John Kruk was scared stojanless whenever he had to face the guy....too funny
  15. Oh man, Im SO hoping that's the case with me....I was more active when I was working in the hospital than I am now sitting in a cubicle, but holy crap is it easy to gain weight lately. I'm really hoping that treating the apnea will help with my energy and motivation to work harder in the gym and pool, cause I am VERY uncomfortable at this weight. By the end of the year I'm really expecting to be a much healthier person. I'm glad to know that some of you guys have experience with this already...I was somewhat reluctant to post about it, but definitely glad I did!
  16. It's a helluva lot more common of a problem than I gave it credit for, man.
  17. LMAO!! I may have to add a "DC Tom" clause to my living will
  18. Nice! 45 lb loss since the beginning of the year is very impressive. I hope to follow suit! We're about the same height, so you obviously know how much better it feels to be around 210 than it does to be 250+. I'm excited to hit the pool...hope I still float! lol
  19. Thanks, Dean...I'm really glad you mentioned the idea of different masks and such, cause that's something I've been thinking about since Tuesday night. I should be receiving a call back in the next day or so to go back and finish the cpap fitting/testing. I'm thinking it'll be easier w/out all those DAMN wires and such connected to me, but I am definitely expecting an adjustment period to find the best mask/machine. I'll let you know what they start me with and see what suggestions you have from there. Thanks again!
  20. There are times when I take that approach too, but honestly what has consitently freaked me out through the course of my job(s) are those patients who have suffered strokes and are basically condemned to a bed-ridden existence, entirely dependent on others, with little-to-no ability to communicate, and no quality of life. I grew up with a grandfather who had that sort of life for his last 20 years or so, and I don't want to follow that path. He abused alcohol and cigarettes most of his life, so there were additional lifestyle factors, but still....the picture is pretty clear in my mind. I'd rather leave this world a little early than live in that sort of condition.
  21. Gotta have a little levity in there somewhere
  22. I'm probably going to have the same issue. Since I failed the study so early in the evening, they transitioned me to the mask and began part 2 of the study. It was like trying to sleep with my head out the window of a car going about 40mph. I didn't mind the positive air pressure as much as the physical mask, so it'll definitely be an adjustment. They had two of them, so at least I had a choice. but yeah, I can see how it's a struggle to adjust to this fuggin thing
  23. Thanks, man...appreciate the kind words And yep, getting down to a healthy weight can reduce or eliminate the symptoms of sleep apnea. I don't remember ever having much of an issue with it when I was 6'2" 210 before my back injury. I found a 24-hr gym with a pool near where I live (finally!), so that's my master plan.
  24. It's not. He's been asked many times about coming to Buffalo, and his comments have always been positive. He's not another Wills.
