Oh man, her voice is *amazing*...I have all her records, one or two of which are live recordings from small, intimate shows she did before her death. I could listen to her all day. A lot of people have heard her version of "Over the Rainbow", they just don't know her by name.

Ryan Mallett Sucks - Exhibit A: Aaron Murray
ajzepp replied to ajzepp's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hell, in the NFL, Mallett would get tackled by the damn tree, cause he's gonna be so statue-esque in the pocket it's going to be embarrassing. I'm with you, though...if he's there in the 4th round, take a flyer on the guy -

You hit it right on the head about route anticipation. In my opinion, that's why a guy who has all the talent in the world and all the motivation in the world - like, say, JP Losman - will fail every time. It's clear as day when you watch someone like Manning, Brady, Marino, Elway, etc (yes, they are legends, I know...) they know where the receiver WILL be, and they make the pass accordingly. You CANNOT have success in the NFL waiting for receivers to get open. Even if you can put a ball through a swinging tire from 30 yards away, all that accuracy won't mean a hill of beans if you can't anticipate. This guy will set our franchise back ten years. -
Holy crap, how can this thread get to page three and not a SINGLE mention of one of the greatest lesser known female vocalists of all time, Eva Cassidy!!!

Ryan Mallett Sucks - Exhibit A: Aaron Murray

Wow, Petrino thinks so highly of Mallett that instead of giving him a shot to win the games, they run in right up the middle three times and let the KICKER try and win the game... TOUCHHHHHDOWWWWNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN ARKANSASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pretty good game! Not exactly a showcase for Mallett, but he got the win...of course, it was another team he was supposed to beat, so nothing really special. But we're getting closer to the next time he'll be tested by a team that is equal or better....we'll see how he does! Maybe he can finally win a big game? Forrest Gump had faster feet than we think, too. -

Yep, got it on in HD on my 100" projector screen Dude, I'd never maintain this stance if he became a Bill, and there's no way I'd EVER wish the team to fail. If he becomes a Bill next April, then I'll be the biggest Mallett supporter on earth...at least for the first two or three years lol. I was all about JP until I felt he'd had enough time to develop....same with Trent...and now with Fitz. I'll happily give Ryan "don't call me Drew" Mallett the same respect and support TOUCHDOWNNNNNNNNN ARKANSASSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -

Okay guys, here we go...the GREAT Ryan "Drew Numba 2" Mallett...start of the 3rd quarter against a team that they should beat...down by 4 pts (17-21)...what WILL he do???? Will he find a way to actually be productive in the 4th quarter against a decent team and win the game? -
I'm always fascinated how different species interact like that...good stuff

Steve Johnson on Jim Rome

It's about time someone took over the locker room jester role that Donovan Greer left vacant! -
I'm feeling sick after reading that.

I thought Shanahan was a genious?
ajzepp replied to Mike in Syracuse's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was looking forward to that game, but what a crapfest. Skins are a joke. -
True, man...to me, Stevie is easily the biggest bright spot of the season. This guy could be a difference maker on this team for the next ten years. And what I like best is that we don't have to worry about him losing a step later in his career cuase he's already slow lol. He runs good routes and can create separation, and I love having a guy like that on the team. To take it a step further, if by some stroke of luck Easley becomes a legit deep threat, holy crap, we'll be set at wideout for years to come, even if we trade Lee. I'm probably wrong, cause I usually am, but I just have a feeling about Easley. I think the kid will be a player. I really like our skill positions.

I agree, man...I thought Nelson would have a big year. I figured he'd be more like Shannon Sharpe than he would Bobby Collins, but oh well...
-
I heard that too, the only problem with that stat was that we also had (by far) the fewest red zone opportunities of any team.

The biggest difference that I see is that our WRs are much more involved than they have been in recent seasons. Our line is improving, we have two solid (although one is WAY underutilized) RBs, and a decent fullback. Once we get the TE spot settled with someone consistent and productive, I really like the potential this offense has to offer. To me, the improvement in 3rd down conversions is very significant. Once we learn to finish drives, our overall scoring will improve accordingly.

Andrew Luck...anyone else concerned about this
ajzepp replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yep, and they'll act as if they're the first ones to ever think of those puns, even though the guy has probably been hearing them since he was in grade school. Sometimes when I hear people I respect say things, they tend to stick in my brain. In this case, I have Bill Parcells in my brain talking about how he only drafts 4-year starters in college (or soemthing like that), or he prefers to go with an established veteran QB. I think the "3/4 baked" thing is valid for sure, and it does add one more small check mark to the "con" category. -
Very cool, thanks man! And jboys, I already BOUGHT the fukkin thing, brah

Well....let's hope the doctor is IN then I've never understood the stay in school vs become a millionaire dilemma. You can finish your degree anytime. Most people never get the opportunity to become an instant multi-millionaire. If you have that chance, you take it. Beyond that, I'm with you 100% about the commitment thing. We need someone who has a Michael vick-like work ethic. Wait, what? Well, the 2010 version of Vick, anyway -
Andrew Luck...anyone else concerned about this
ajzepp replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've been trying to make an effort to see this guy whenever possible and my only concern is his arm strength. He seems like a steve young type, except his long ball isn't as pretty. If we draft him, I hope we hire whoever was Tom Brady's strength coach coming out of Michigan. Brady's arm was noodle-like when he first came out, from what I've heard....so if we can work with Luck, I think he'll be a solid QB (just based on what I've seen). My preference is still to go with a stud front-7 player for our defense (or two), but I wouldn't be upset if we picked Luck. -
lol!!! That one will remind me of Lana!!
