I see. The difference is that with Levi, all you have is praise. With Fitzy, you have praise AND you have evidence. The guy can play. He's still too mistake-prone, yes. But he's also still in his 20s and he's been a back-up most of his career. This guy still has a chance to evolve into a legit starter, IMO, and I'd LOVE to see that. He's like a poor man's Brett Favre without the penis pics. How many QBs have we had where we just KNEW there was no way we were going to make a comeback once we got down by 10, 14+ points? With a guy like Fitzy, you're NEVER out of the game. As long as their is time on the clock, this guy can make things happen when he's behind center. I love that about the guy. -

If they don't lock the guy up long term, I'm gonna be pissed. I love this guy! -

That's right! If this coaching staff refuses to stand by their mistakes, I say we get rid of them! -

And he obviously meant them, which is why we re-signed him the minute Trent's ass was sent packing. -
That's for sure. You've seen one Dickballs Jauron presser and you've seen them all. Chan tells it like it is, and he's a thinker.

This is actually a really good topic, because with regard to all those folks who want Luck or Mallett in the next draft, you can bet ur ass that Chan WILL have SOME say in the process, and if you think he's gonna want to break up a partnership that's working then ur nuts. If Fitzy keeps improving and can show consistency, and we start stringing together some solid performances, Chan will probably try and block any move toward drafting a rookie QB. Just my opinion. -

I love this kid...if he can fix his late game mistakes, there's NO reason why he couldn't be a gritty, blue-collar type starter for us. Today he made his mistakes early in the game and then went apeshit. I like that MUCH better than saving the bad throws for the 4th quarter. Nice job, Fitzy. -

Actually, I'm pretty sure Owens was Batman and Ocho was Robin...cause I remember Chad looking at Owens during the interview as if he was thinking, "I'm the real Batman, dammit" -

I agree, PTR. Play to win. Get the young kids some playing time. Let them develop. Draft wherever we are slotted and pick the BPA.

Ryan Mallett Sucks - Exhibit A: Aaron Murray
ajzepp replied to ajzepp's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't hate anyone, man. I don't know Ryan Mallett personally and never will. Some of you guys are taking this a bit too seriously, IMO. It's just a message board discussion/debate...it's not life or death for gosh sakes. All I can say about the OT thing is that there is never, ever, EVER a time when a kicker....a FRESHMAN kicker...is the person I'd rely on to win a game, especially one you were supposed to win, and where you had a LOT more to lose than you had to gain. I want my best player(s) handling the ball, and I want to win or lose with those guys - not a kicker. A 39-yd FG is not a gimmie. You don't just run three times straight up the middle, planning all along to rely on ur kicker to win the game. Why would you not let Mallett take a shot on 3rd down instead of a third pointless run at the heart of the defense? If the pass is errant then you're pretty much in the same spot you would have been anyway and you can still let the little kicker try to win it for you. It makes no sense. How can you ever have confidence in a KICKER, let alone a FRESHMAN?? Would you take issue with the Bills if they purposely relied on a rookie kicker to win a game instead of giving the ball to one of our playmakers at least once during the series?? -

Listen to Petrino?? As in BOBBY Petrino? The COACH? What the heck do you THINK he's gonna say after the game? And you make fun of some of MY arguments? Come on, dude...those last two TD passes weren't due to some great pass by Mallett. He made two simple passes to open players who did 90% of the work themselves. I'm sure Mallett must have better examples of how precise and accurate his arm is than plays where he basically dumps the ball off or completes a dink pass over the middle. And yes, in college ball you are most definitely supposed to beat the 21st ranked team when you are talking SEC championship and/or having the best offense in alllllllll of college football. Didn't see a single play, nope. He wins the games he's supposed to win, and he goes AWOL in the bigger games. I have yet to have anyone show me any time he's beat a team in a big game? The only game I've heard mentioned is the S.Carolina game, but even that wasn't really an upset and it was also the Knile Davis show. He went 0-13 on third downs in his bowl game last year, even though they won in spite of that...he goes into the fetal position against Bama twice in two years...let's see what he does THIS year when it's time for him to really step up. -
It was a low budget film with an underrated lead in Sam Rockwell, and it was one of my favorite films of last year. I'm talking about "Moon". I just came across this trailer for "Source Code", which is directed by Duncan Jones, the same guy who did Moon. I'm already a fan of the sci-fi genre, so I'm an easy sell...but I'm particularly excited about this film since I enjoyed his first effort so much. Check it out! http://trailers.apple.com/trailers/summit/sourcecode/

Okay, I can get on board with that, cause I'm all about old school football!!! I didn't see that game, but I heard them talking about Wisconsin imposing their WILL today with the running game....that is badass, and I'd LOVE to see that type of offense in B-lo. Run and stop the run...that's my kind of team! I don't know much about Carimi, but from what I've heard he seems like a great fit for us...we need another badass mofo to go with Wood! I love this quote from the article...""We were setting them up for the play action," UW coach Bret Bielema cracked. -

"When it counts the most" to me doesn't really mean winning games you are supposed to win. It means that you raise your game when it's all on the line...in the biggest moments of your career and/or against teams that are equal or better. Tonight he played fine, but this was a game they should have won anyway. You can't be talking about having the best offense in THE NATION (Mallett's words, not mine), and then worry about losing to the Mississippi State later in the season. Check this out, Senator....you or I could have EASILY made this pass http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=5832542 oh, oops. SORRY!!! Wrong clip! Let's try this again! If you couldn't make this throw, you must have been like the kid I use to beam in the head with the dodge ball!!! http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=5832680 -
I had no idea that Carolina's first THREE RBs were out for the year...no RB plus no QB means no W's. I think you're probably right...we're much healthier than they are.

There are a lot of college QBs you could substitute in that post for the names Mallett and Luck, dude. I remember a lot of people saying the same things about Matt Leinart and Brady Quinn. You can't JUST look at a player's success in college and use that to determine how well they'll do in the pros. You have to look at a lot of things, and you have to break down their qualities and see how they translate to the pro game. That being said, it's obviously not an exact science. Neither you nor I have any idea how Mallett will be as a pro. We'll find out who's right or wrong soon enough, but until then, I have my opinion and you have yours. Yeah, it was double OT because they trusted the FRESHMAN KICKER to win it in the first OT and he choked...Mallett didn't choke, but he wasn't spectacular by any means. Go back and watch the "89 yd touchdown pass" man....dude was WIDE open and then ran his ass off lol...you or I could have made that throw! -

My definition of a winner is someone who shows up when it counts the most, and I have yet to see Mallett do that. Anyone who saw that pass knows that had very little to do with Mallett...guy was wide open and he ran for the majority of those 89 yards -

I don't understand the point you're making about mobile QBs. I mentioned those QBs because they are able to anticipate routes. It doesn't matter how immobile you are when you can do that. Ask Bernie Kosar, cause he could anticipate a route, too! I don't really want Luck either. I'm on record plenty of times as wanting to go front 7 with our top pick. I want a dominating, nasty, stanky, PULVERIZING defense in B-lo again. -
