  1. Totally agree. I don't really have any positive or negative feelings about the Bucs, so I'm usually able to just watch objectively and enjoy their games. It's really surprising how complete of a QB Freeman is already...scary to think about how good this kid will be if he's already this good. I didn't know much about him coming out of Kansas or wherever it was he went to school, but the more I learn about him the more I like. I think their coach is an overconfident blowhard who needs to stfu at times, but that team seems poised to really shake things up and make a statement in the next year or two. Freeman is obviously a big reason why. On top of that, K2 has been making some ridiculous catches, so if he can grow up a bit and focus more on his craft, he's going to be a potent weapon for them. The Atlanta/TB rivalry is getting good
  2. That's awesome, man...that sounds like a great approach to getting the most value out of the site. I'm all but expecting all the idiots with no restraint to ruin a good thing for the rest of us, but maybe I'm wrong. The more I use this site, the more I like it. As we've both discovered, there is very little risk to go with a lot of reward when you use your brain.
  3. You're not over-analyzing, man...lol
  4. Thanks man, I appreciate that Some of those videos sort of freaked me out, but I'm sure my niece will have fun with this thing. Just hit my 28-day limit by winning my 8th auction, so I'm done for a while. The last item I won was something I had my eye on the past couple of weeks. It's a really neat little gadget speaker that mates great with an iPhone, laptop, etc. Ended up paying $3 plus $6 shipping, and the item retails for around $42-49. I hate the sound on my laptop, so if the sound on this little thing is half as good as others have said it is, should make computer time more fun. Here's a youtube link in case you guys, like me, have never heard of this: I expect to have all these recent items here in-house in the next 7-10 days, so I'll report back to let you know if they all show up.
  5. It's really been great having this kid in town. I listen to Atlanta sports talk radio every day on the way in to work, so I hear a lot of his interviews and pressers. He really comes off like a class act, and his game has gotten better each year. He's made some amazingly accurate, clutch passes this season. The game against Tampa was particularly fun to watch...two of the games yougest and best QBs, Ryan and Freeman. These two will still be going at it ten years from now in the NFC South. Stafford is really the ONLY reason I have any hope for Mallett, if we were to draft him. Two completely different QBs, yes, but I honestly thought Stafford was WAY overrated coming out of Georgia. He obviously still has a lot to prove, but I figured he'd have about the same success (or lack thereof) as Alex Smith of the 49ers. Stafford is a good kid, and he comes from a very well-grounded family, but I just never saw much moxi in the guy. I never saw a game of his where I was just like, "damn, this kid is GOOD!". That's similar to my criticism of Mallett, except I'm less hopeful for Lurch than I was for Matthew. If we draft him, I really hope I'm completely off base in my assessment just like I (apparently) have been with Stafford.
  6. LOL, I have no good answer for that
  7. They couldn't have been more wrong about Freeman. I've seen a fair number of his games, and this kid is a player. He's going to be damn good once he gets more experience. I'd love to have a kid like that in B-lo.
  8. Guys, I need a little help with this one... I saw this robot thing on quibids, and it didn't seem like anyone was bidding on it so I threw three bids out there. Much to my surprise, the auction ended and I won it for 34 cents lol. I don't really know much about it, other than the fact that my 9 y.o. niece loves robots and I figured she'd dig it. Looks like I got a pretty great deal on it, but do any of you guys have any knowledge of this?? It's called a "WowWee Femisapien Robosapien" This one sort of just fell into my lap lol.
  9. lol, it even works over the phone...I spend a good part of my day helping seniors manage their diabetes and heart disease via the telephone, and when I comment about how youthful one of these little old ladies sounds, they just about go nuts
  10. I guess I'm in the minority, cause a season like this is much easier for me to be a fan than back during some of the years when we had a perennial winner. I had pretty much zero expectations for this season in terms of wins. I just wanted to see the team respond to Gailey, get some experience, play hard for four quarters every week, and see some young players step up and create a foundation for the future. I admit that the Steelers game really irked me, cause I wanted to beat those a-holes, and I wish we could have beaten the Pats, but aside from that the W/L just didn't matter all that much to me this year. That all changes come week 1 of 2011, though. I expect 8-8 or better, and then playoffs in year 3.
  11. dang!
  12. lol, you can also play the "WHAT?!? YOU don't look anywhere NEAR 68! I don't believe you for a second...this license is a forgery!" game with the elderly ladies...they fall for that crap every time!! ....ummm, I mean, we should spend more time appreciating the elderly in our society and treat them with the utmost respect at all times (that **** works EVERY TIME, though....seriously!)
  13. LMAO, yep, that's the guy
  14. Chains will loosen and angels will sing!
  15. wow, that is very interesting
  16. Yeah, but he wears leather chaps
  17. Oops, I meant Bob Nelson...sorry...lol. He has a routine where he refers to himself as "Jeff"...my bad. You might be better off not really knowing who he is, actually
  18. I find Gene Simmons quite the interesting individual, but did you see when Paul Stanley was given the role of the Phantom in one of the Phantom of the Opera runs in Toronto? I don't remember how many years ago that was (maybe like 6-10?), but I saw some clips of him in the role on youtube and it was a bit embarrassing.
  19. I'm with you on Breuer...I think I've laughed a total of exactly one time at his stuff. That's a bummer that Benson's show isn't any good...I haven't seen it, but will try and find it listed so I can check it out. I don't know what it is about the guy, but then again I used to find Jeff Nelson and his floating "bubushkas" pretty damn funny, too
  20. LOL, making a stoner think can yield some pretty entertaining results I know a lot of you guys are into stand-up, so speaking of stoners, have any of you ever seen or heard of Doug Benson? He was on Last Comic Standing a few seasons ago and had me rolling the entire time. He's a huge pot advocate and even has a documentary called "Super High Me", which is sort of a take off on "Super size me". I have a couple of his routines on mp3 and they're pretty damn funny
  21. Oh YEAH?!? Well only a STONER would...errr...wait, what was I saying?
  22. Last time I saw someone refuse and make a break for it, a little old guy on a hov-a-round scooter ran him down and detained him until the authorities arrived.
  23. As much as I couldn't stand Jimmy Johnson back in the day, his theory for front 7 defensive personnel was pretty simple (and effective): He wanted big nasties on the Dline, and then lots of speed at the LB spots. He put much more emphasis on the Dline than he did the LBs, and I tend to agree with this. If you don't start with a solid foundation of 3-4 impactful starters on the defensive line, , your LBs are bound to struggle. I don't really like having DEs playing LB either, so I agree about Kelsay and Maybin. But I think a guy like Poz will look much better once we get our line back to where they are a strength and not such a liability.
