  1. I know some people are allergic to optimism around these parts (not saying you specifically), but my view has more to do with the way the Jets look than how the Bills do.
  2. Agree 100%. Mindset is critical, and to have a QB who thinks like a winner is a huge asset. Of course things don't always work out, but I want EJ setting his sights high and having confidence in his ability to affect the outcome of a snap...a drive...a game. The great players expect to win, and that expectation is a welcome change for this franchise. It's a message I've heard from Russ, Dough, Coach, and all down to EJ and the rest of the team. It doesn't guarantee we'll win a Super Bowl, but it WILL pay dividends.
  3. Wow, I didn't realize that was him either!
  4. This just makes my heart sink...so sad. All these injuries remind me of how lucky I was when I played...there was one collision in particular where it really could have been ugly. I feel so bad for the parents and family/friends... RIP, young man
  5. Yep, I didn't consider them a legit contender, but they've improved on both sides of the ball. If they can maintain a consistent ground game, they'll be tough for sure.
  6. If I were any less diplomatic than I am, I'd tell you how ignorant that comment was.
  7. Thanks! I've never heard of Rectify but will check that out. I've had Boardwalk Empire on the radar for a while now, especially since Michael Shannon has become one of my favorite actors. I think all the eps are available on HBO-GO, so I have no excuse anymore. I know that Dean Norris' show "Under the Dome" is supposed to be pretty good...when I saw it was based on a Stephen King book it piqued my interest. I thought I found a new show to enjoy in "Continuum" on SyFy, but it's sort of lagging a bit for me now...so I'll give a look to the ones you suggested since you always suggest good stuff.
  8. LOL, that's awesome! I'm watching some guy play it as we speak...I can picture Heisenberg breaking onto the military base to steal a jet
  9. Oh, hell yeah! Even before I bought GTA IV, I had a blast on Justin.tv just watching people play it...I had been away from gaming for a good while, so it was amazing to me to see an open environment like that...the things people were doing were hilarious. I can't wait to fire up V!! That might be a great application for the Heisenberg character...a GTA type game! haha
  10. We took one of the most dangerous weapons in the NFL and reduced him to a mediocre pocket passer. I just don't see any possible way that Geno succeeds where Cam failed, and I can't see us losing to the Jets. The Dolphins will be much more of a challenge, IMO.
  11. Yep, we're both in the same boat for sure...lol I seem to compare so many aspects of other shows to BB now...one of the first thoughts I had when Sons went with the school shooting angle was, "there's just no way Gilligan would do this..." I've typically always been more of a movies and sports guy than a tv guy, but that's sort of shifted a bit toward the TV side over the last few years. I never really put any one writer or any one show on a pedestal, though, until BB and Gilligan. The more we all talk about the show(s) and the more comparisons that are made, the more it's clear that this guy is just on another level. Who knows, maybe you and I will both end up being really into sons this season, but right now it's hard for me to imagine. I'm going to savor every last morsel of Heisenberg goodness for the next couple weeks and then let the chips fall where they may. I suspect maybe I'll end up watching more movies and sports again
  12. Yep, it's like Gilligan and his damn high standards have ruined us for all other television! The example I used a little earlier in this thread still holds true...this is the last season of Dexter - a show that I've typically really been into - but I find myself looking at my watch and having to remind myself to pay attention. Whereas Gilligan gives us a LOT to chew on each and every week, it feels like the writers on Dexter are just biding their time with filler, waiting for when they can do something interesting in the very last episode of the season/series. I had such high expectations for this season being different, but it's been one massive fail, IMO. I'm glad that Sons of Anarchy is back again, but I would be surprised if the show still has me engaged after a few more weeks. The Saul spinoff can't get here fast enough!
  13. It was absolutely brilliant...I went back and re-watched it again and the only thing that could possibly match the brilliance of the way Gilligan wrote that scene was the way Cranston used his facial expressions and mannerisms to carry out that transformation. You can literally see his face being overtaken by the Heisenberg persona. This is the sort of thing Iv'e grown accustomed to on this show, which makes it really hard to enjoy OTHER shows anymore lol.
  14. The Zubaz is strong in this one.
  15. Last night I was going through the QBs that we've passed on in the last few drafts...this is something that has really bothered me for a while. But I realized that after yesterday's game, especially seeing EJ and his dad after the win, I couldn't be more thankful that we didn't draft those other guys.
  16. Sounds like Bieber tipped off the "funny or die" thing.
  17. Thanks, TB
  18. lol...well said. I just dont' know what people want out of the guy. He's going to miss throws, make bad decisions, and throw picks from time to time. Does he need to throw for 80% and 500 yds before he can be given credit for having a solid game? Eli Manning has two Super Bowl rings and he's throw like two dozen picks in the first two weeks. Expecting EJ to go out there and do everything correctly is just no realistic, obviously. In fact, he NEEDS to be makign mistakes here and there, because that's how he'll learn to overcome them. So given proper perspective on the situation, I don't see how anyone can say EJ didn't have a really damn good game yesterday. Not just the last drive, but the game in general.
  19. You guys will know what I mean when I say that I don't ever want to re-watch this episode again. The one scene that will really stay with me is when Walt literally transformed from Walter White into Heisenberg in the moments following Hank's demise.
  20. His physical toughness is definitely something I didn't expect. On that one hit where the DB for the Panthers came up and hammered him, Woods shook it off and the DB left the game. He plays with a ton of grit...he'll fit in here just fine. I agree with those who say TJ needs to take a back seat to Easley...TJ has done *nothing* since he's been here. He was on John Murphy earlier in the preseason talking about how he had Lasik and now he'll be able to actually see the ball into his hands. So far I don't see that he's any different than he has been. I'd love to see Easley get some opportunities.
  21. Also tied for 2nd fewest INTs after two games.
  22. I think what is lacking from your viewpoint is perspective...if Tom Brady went out there and had the performance EJ had today, people would say he was a bit off on a few of his passes, but he came around and got it together in the end like he often does. But we're not talking about Tom Brady, and before the season if someone took a poll of Bills fans and gave them this scenario, pretty much everyone would consider this a great job by the kid. But in terms of the actual stats, you guys point out that he can't hit the long ball...combine that with what PTR posted regarding his 10+ yard per completion stat...obviously the guy hit a lot of passes today - nearly 70% of them for just under 300 yards. Those stats are indicative of productivity, regardless of how you spin it. I don't recall all sorts of dump off throws where there were all sorts of YAC. EJ came out in the 2nd half throwing it all over the field. He involved EIGHT different receivers today. So while I understand that he missed throws, saying that he played poorly for the first 58 minutes is just not something I can understand at all.
  23. BuffaloBills.com just reported that EJ is the first QB since 1960 to have QB rating >89 in first two starts. Just more nonsense from the NFL and their propaganda campaign, making us Bills fans think we have a half decent QB when really we dont!
