  1. That said, I would take either player over Langston Walker or Kirk Chambers.
  2. http://www.buffalonews.com/452/story/745469.html Since Kent Hull retired after the 1996 season, the center position has been pedestrian at best for the Buffalo Bills, which is why they made Geoff Hangartner a top priority signing during the offseason. And since Hull finished his career, the Bills have experienced difficulty dealing with the likes of Vince Wilfork, Kris Jenkins, Jason Ferguson and other nose tackles in a division where every opposing team utilizes the 3-4. "Our division is definitely a challenge when you play center because you have three of the best nose guards in the league," said Hangartner, who signed a four-year deal with the Bills in February. "You have guys who have played in Pro Bowls and who are definitely good at what they do so it's a challenge every week." The Bills are counting on Hangartner to be an upgrade. Dusty Zeigler, Jerry Ostroski, Bill Conaty, Trey Teague, Melvin Fowler and Duke Preston all have seen time at center and none made anyone forget Hull, who played 11 seasons and earned three Pro Bowl appearances for the Bills. It's crazy that it has been as hard to find a center as it has been to find a QB. Why is it so hard to find a good center?
  3. If we signed him, I would be the first person to order a #7 throwback jersey with MEXICO on the back and wear it to every home game this season.
  4. The thing about this team this year in my mind is that we have the fire power and talent on both sides of the ball to be successfull if we can stay healthy. I feel that if the line is atleast average, and we can stay healthy we have the potential to be a wild card team. If not, i can easily see us going 7-9 again. I would says it's about 50-50 each way right now because we really don't know what we have yet.
  5. Yes, I mean like NFL Europe(a). If it can work with baseball and hockey than why not football?
  6. I say let TO be who he is in the end its not going to hurt us whats the worst that could happen we miss the playoffs again?? If he calls out Trent late in the year will you be against that Wagon?? If we stink and Dick gets canned who will be against that? and if we are really good and make some noise in the playoffs who would be against that? To me this is the perfect year for TO in Buffalo as its a win win situation. WHAT DO WE HAVE TO LOSE??? NOTHING!!!!
  7. I don't see any reason that Poz won't take the next step as a LB. More experience and a better pass rush will only help his game and I expect him to be a leader of this defense for a long time. He's the type of guy that has an amazing workout schedule in the offseason and will come into camp stronger, faster and more comfortable with this defense. I also think Poz will take more of a leadership role this season, taking Maybin under his wing early. They are both Penn State guys and have worked out together in the offseason.
  8. Just curious... Is he gonna become a stud or just a decent LB this year? I think he'll be a good deal better. Second full year as a starter, third year on the team. By now he should be fully acclimated to life as a starting NFL middle linebacker, and I think we'll see that comfort level reflected in his play. Thoughts.
  9. His release isn't too bad actually. The key to the K-Gun offense is quick decision making and accuracy, and I think those are two of Trent's strongest points. Until he actually finishes a whole season though, his health will always be a question mark. And don't forget communication, everyone has to be on the same page. Edwards is accurate and his timing is very good, but he and the rest of the guys on offense need to develop a high level of understanding on the field for this to work efficiently. Like for example getting the rookie lineman into camp on time to work on that...
  10. I like Roscoe on ST, but honestly, at this point I'd rather see Stevie Johnson on the field over Roscoe, especially in the red zone.
  11. The problem is that if Butler bombs, I can't see them moving LW back to RT. They'll be an even bigger hole at LT if they do that. They might bring in Bell (if he's ready) to RT if Butler completely bombs. I think he'll be alright though
  12. We can't blame the OL if Trent isn't successful. He has enough weapons that he should have no excuses. As patch work as this line is at THIS point, i think all of the weapons that we have now will make this line look alot better then it seems, if that makes any sense. The 2008 Steelers are my case in point. I was watching a replay of the Chargers and Steelers playoff game earlier, and Ben was pressured on almost every play. The difference was that they have play makers in Holmes, Ward, Parker and Heath Miller. Only now we have more. You can't blitz us without risking being burned by either Owens, Evans, Reed, Shouman now if mini camp was kind of an indicator, or any of our very receiving savvy backs coming out of the back field. I think this line is more then capeable of giving Trent the three seconds he will need to be able to get the ball away.
  13. What worries me is the drop-off in play he showed last season; your QB needs to be consistent and be able to finish the season strong in the elements. He went from possible MVP votes in the first 6 games to a QB too afraid or unable to throw the ball down the field by years end. The Cleveland game was frightening- he completely turtled after struggling early. More importantly, he has also never stayed healthy for a whole season his entire college AND pro career. That really worries me because even if he turns the corner this year, what good is he on the bench?
  14. I think if we're going to sign him, it should be now. The tickets are already purchased for the upcoming season and most of the early games are already sold out. Business wise it makes sense to act now. Another season out of football will only hurt him. And a lot less people will be complaining if he comes in and tears it up.
  15. Maybe they're waiting until the first couple preseason games to see how Langston holds up at LT before looking at a guy like Levi Jones or even Jon Runyan. I would love to have Runyan on this team. Here's hoping Bell develops into a serviceable starting tackle...
  16. Well in that case...I must find this romance novel. My sister is a big fan.
  17. Wouldn't the same hold true if Langston isn't cutting it? Chambers is listed as the back-up at each tackle position, is he not? And we also have Demetrius Bell IIRC.
  18. I realize this. I was commenting on the poster claiming that Poz had actually signed a contract with a romance cover company. I am assuming that this is not, in fact, true. Get it?
  19. I'm confused with this statement. As someone who has had a DWI myself, and has driven drunk several times in the past (prior to the arrest), I knew full-well what I was doing when I got behind the wheel to drive home from a party. I knew it was a major risk, and that I could potentially be endangering my own life as well as the lives of other drivers on the road. Sure, alcohol slows your thought process but not to the point that you don't realize that you're driving drunk, and that it is illegal. Luckily, I've never gotten into an incident or hurt anyone while driving drunk, but it could have easily happened, and having suffered the consequences of such a stupid act, I know that I will never make the same mistake again. People who get behind the wheel when they're drunk do so intentionally, just as when they sit down at the bar to get hammered they are doing so intentionally. Anyone who argues otherwise sounds like an apologist to me.
  20. I mean more in terms of a pro league that serves as a developmental league for the NFL. The NHL and MLB have various minor leagues and farm teams where they can send players in need of playing time or development, or they can send down players in need of a rehab assignment. Then when they have an injury or need a roster shakeup, they call up a player(s) that is performing well in the minors for a cup of coffee and see if he sticks. Iduno, it always seemed like an interesting idea to me. Not like it will ever happen though.
  21. What is the point you're trying to make? Bledsoe was a huge pickup at the time. The guy was still in his prime and was viewed as an elite quarterback who had been a thorn in our sides during his tenure with the Pats. When we acquired him it was a big deal, as he was the first legitimate QB we had since Kelly. He had a couple of huge years (4,500 yards and 24 touchdowns in '02), and we had a Top 10 offense. His production started to tail off as he was entering his twilight years. Then, Donahoe and Mularkey decided to go with Losman and the rest is history. He went off to Dallas and remained productive even though his best days were clearly behind him. No, he was not the franchise savior, but he made a huge impact on the offense and it wasn't his fault that he had to work with erratic coaching and a poor defense.
  22. I'm assuming this was a joke..?
  23. The UFL could work as a minor league for the NFL, ala the AHL to the NHL or AAA baseball to the Major Leagues. I think it would be cool if each NFL team was assigned a farm team where they could develop young players and free agents that don't pan out with the team. I realize the CFL and Arena League exist, but they stand apart from the NFL as they have different rules and regulations. I think a minor league might be a good idea if Goodell would be interested at all.
