  1. It has NEVER been Ok to throw something at anyone, unprovoked. But, getting paid the amount of money he is, with his past, and knowing his family might be watching (mainly his own kids), and knowing there were little ones in the crowd, don't you think the ADULT thing to do would be to stand up, point out the suspect, and have security toss him? -------------------------------------------------- I haven't been in that situation before. I know that this isn't the first time it's happened where Artest has had things thrown at him. And in all those cases he just ignored the problem and it went away. I agree that he should have taken that route again but he didn't and the result was probably the biggest riot we've ever seen in sports. Yes, Ron reacted and he reacted strongly. He should be punished simply b/c the NBA does not approve of fighting. But, for the remainder of the year? Absolutely not. 10-20 games would be fair and it wouldn't hurt the franchise which was egged on by the Detroit fans.
  2. I must have missed the point in time when it became OK to throw things at people and not expect a reaction. Isn't that the reason we egged on Bryan Cox? Sure he didn't come in to the stands but it's a little different when there is a wall between you and the player. I am not a Pacers fan but this is not fair to the franchise and it sets up a potential problem in the future for fans. I mean seriously what type of security measures are being put in place to protect the fans and the players???
  3. Exactly. Now the Pacers are screwed and more than likely will end up losing a huge amount of money in attendance for both the regular season and probably the postseason. So, doesn't this in turn end up hurting the entire NBA plus make it a higher risk for this occuring in the future? That's why I made the statement about killing the fan. If you are a diehard Knicks fan and you know Miami is coming to town why not get a bunch of people to throw things at Shaq so he comes in to the crowd. Even if he doesn't you could possible get a huge guy to run on to the floor and start something. Let's face it. Shaq will probably get suspended if he retaliates and hurt if he doesn't so why not?
  4. Thanks for the honesty Silver and Red.
  5. Yeah, and just like the guys who beat the crap out of the first base coach for the Royals they'll get some petty anty slap on the wrist and then nothing. Artest loses a year of pay and public humiliation while these clowns will get nothing.
  6. Tater, so do most people. Artest reacted strongly but I'm not going to say he was wrong because he wasn't. The guy stood up for himself. Stern was the one in the wrong. What kind of message does this send to the fans? Throw things at the players and get the players to come in to the crowd and they will get suspended for the rest of the season. This is only going to help the Pistons b/c the Pacers are now without three players for a lot of the regular season because of what the fans of the Pistons started.
  7. what the hell is shoking?
  8. Call security then kitty. Typically male in this society. Instead of standing up for themself they call someone else to do it. Are you getting angry yet?
  9. and this has to do with the price of which tea in China? -------------------- If you want to join in the conversation feel free. But, don't drop in midstream and make stupid ass comments which don't really say anything at all.
  10. Yeah, Kgun...because you make assumptions about what I'm saying makes it correct. Two different paragraphs typically mean two different topics or thoughts in the English language. But, I understand this may be difficult to get your mind around.
  11. call security and have him thrown out, as most level headed, sensible people would ---------------- and I'm sure you've ever played in front of 19K people screaming people before right? Artest did nothing wrong.
  12. Ummmmm, Wallace was actually the one retaliating for the cheap chickenshlt hardfoul Artest had given him in the back with :45 seconds left in a 15pt game. So Wallace didn't start it, Artest started it when he cheap-shotted Wallace in the back when the game was already over. ------- Chickenshit foul. Please. Did you watch the entire game? Detroit was all over J O'Neal the entire freaking game. It's really too bad Artest didn't kill that fatass that was on the court and got in his face. Perhaps then people would keep their stupid ass out of the playing field.
  13. Yeah, start the rookie on the road. That would make a whole lotta sense.
  14. How about the fact that Campbell actually learned how to hold on to the ball rather than blaming Drew. Drew has never had a problem hitting TE's or FB's or RB's when they get involved with the passing game.
  15. Here's what I think. Artest had all the frickin right to go in the crowd. It's freaking illegal to throw things on the court. It's illegal to go on the court. These people instigated him to come up there after Ben Wallace got ticked and started a fight. We live in a world where if we retaliate to what people do to us then we get punished. If someone came to your job and threw a cup of beer on you what would you do?
  16. Anyhoo, GO BILLS. I think with Mularkey at the help, this team is headed in the right direction, whether it's this year or next. --------- Here's one thing about today. JP couldn't have made that fleaflicker game that led to a FG at the end of the first half. It was an absolutely perfect throw. Great game Drew.
  17. Bledsoe had a good game against a lousy defense in Buffalo. I'm not impressed. If we had a winning record and still had a shot at the playoffs I'd be impressed.
  18. We'll win this game. Rams are the most overrated team in the NFL. Bills 24 Rams 14
  19. Happy birthday fool.
  20. I don't think Drew is going to get pulled. I actually think he'll end up having a good game.
  21. Holy lord Steve........that's some serious bucks. I can see why you'd be moving.
  22. Marvin seems to be becoming a me first player. Not good for a team that needs a leader, and with JP taking the reigns in 2005 I don't think Marvin will have the patience needed for JP. On the other hand Moulds seems to be getting to the point where he wants to play with some other folks too. Tough call.
  23. Florida without a doubt. I love the heat. I hate the cold. I like being outside without 12 layers of clothes and a parka on. --------------------- But, that heat in the summer.....woooo hooo that's just too much for me. As the old saying goes, you can only take so much off.
  24. Amen.... not sure on which one I'm amening whether it's a dysfunctional family or not a family at all.
