  1. Maybe folks will be a little quicker to realize it is not always the QB who is the problem. What a bunch of Trent Edwards homers this board became and threw JP under the bus. Maybe holding onto the ball is something QB's with a decent offensive line can normally do for at least 3 seconds before the pocket collapses. You constantly get hit, you start getting happy feet, short arming passes and becoming inaccurate, and making bad decision. Anything sound familiar. In Buffalo, that is a luxury the QB will never have, until we get an offensive line that can backup what there 330 pound selves portray in that they should be able to open a hole. Until we get a decent offensive line we will never answer our QB situation. Edwards wasn't that much better than JP. They just have 2 different styles, and our offensive line will leave neither one to be successful. Draft next year... round 1 offensive guard and round 2 offensive center, and round 3 anyone who can rush the passer.
  2. You are such a fuggin loser. You are more interested in a player instead of team in general. I don't know who is worse, you or Ice. I bet you loved it back in the RJ/Flutie days as well. You seem to relish when the Bills do badly, so you can start on your pathetic rantings about how JP would do better, and Drew Bledsoe is the reason we didn't win the Super Bowl. I'm proud of the team as a whole for making this a somewhat enjoyable season to watch that took us to the last game before we were eliminated. The whole team SUCKED today. Give it a rest and quit trying to post so much to make yourself believe that your right. HINT HINT. Stupid crap like what you just posted is why most of us BILLS fans get annoyed with people like yourself. I'm looking forward to seeing JP in the future (whether it is next year or the year after), but the Bills do not have nearly the supporting cast that Pittsburgh had for Ben, and even in his limited time JP looked very raw (coming back from a broken leg mind you). If it's Drew next year, so be it. If it's JP's time, then so be it. But get off your damned soapbox and GET A LIFE.
  3. The team and whole city expected to just show up 2day and the win was automatically ours. I hate to have seen what would happen had Pittsburgh been at full strenght and had something to play for. This team, as well as the fans have gotten awful cocky and arrogant over the past 6 weeks, talking about destiny, and fate and teams had better watch out if Buffalo makes it into the party called the NFL playoffs. I think I got a sick feeling in my stomoch about this game when I started seeing about this "Billieve" t-shirt crap. Fact is, we have gotten better over the course of the year and made huges strides, but we have not shown that we can play with the big boys and compete. We lost 3 out of 4 within the division against the Jets and Patriots, got beat by yhr Steelers second teamers in a meaningless game for them, and also lost against the Ravens and Jags who were our primary competition for the wild card. I think this loss shows the team that it cannot rely on "fate", and if they don't come ready to play each week in the NFL then they will get it handed to them. It think the fact that the Rams won and we missed the playoffs becuz of us will keep the focus on the fact that EVERY game in meaningful, and you have to be ready to play every week (i.e Pittsburgh), every series (Jets for game winning fg) and every down (3 4th down conversions against the Jags). Anyhow, while depressing as it is now, I see this as a possible stepping stone, much like the Cleveland playoff game back in 1989 that can most definately lead to bigger and better things. I am proud of the turnaround the last half of the season, but was very dissappointed in the way the team was not ready to wage war this week. I think it will lead to a very long off-season of what if's for the players and make them come back hungrier for next year. Go Bills. And let's quite bashing Drew and Rina as the sole reason for this loss. No one on that team was ready to play. Dropped passes, staying in bounds with less than a minute in the half, missed field goals, missed tackles, 8 minute drives in the 4th quarter. This was a TEAM loss all the way around. I look forward to a very HUNGRY football team next year.
  4. pay off. Teams have been trying to stack the front and blitz the living crap out of us all year with the hopes of getting to Bledsoe, or having so many people up front there is no where to run. No that the offense is picking up the blitz better, and Drew is getting it out of his hands faster and there are more weapons getting open, I think defenses are going to have to start to back off a little bit. This is where I think we will start to see Willis' really begin to show what he can do, when our line doesn't have to block 8 people from the get go. I think Willis goes for 150 2day and Drew throws for 250, in a 31-10 win for the Bills. THe balance is starting to show itself. GO BILLS. Let's hope the defense reverts to it's consistant self and show's up 2day.
  5. Just curious as to what is going to be the wonderful tidbit of knowledge that his all-knowing self is going to bless us with today. Thankgoodness he brought us all back to earth with his wonderful analysis from last week as to why we were so lucky to win that football game. I am so glad we have him. If it wasn't for him I might actually enjoy football season a little bit to much, but luckily he is looking out for us and keeps our expectations grounded.
  6. How right you are Sue, how right you are. It's nice to see a nice simple post that goes to the heart of whythe majority of us are here on this board. GOOOOOOOOO Bills......
  7. Thanks CL. I wish I could post more but unfortunately between work and school I just don't have the time to post as much as I used to. Looks like it's going to be a shootout 2day.
  8. I swear to god that I have never seen a small faction of people so intent on trying to create controversy, where there really doesn't need to be any. Our Bills are winning football games and you have nothing better to do than to spend a whole lot of time posting crap over and over again about how Drew Bledsoe has to go and JP has to start now or our chances of ever winning a superbowl are billsfanone. FACT......FACT......FACT......FACT......FACT......FACT......FACT...... JP Losman is not ready to start in the NFL. He only had a couple weeks of training camp, and one of the reasns he was projected to go 4th in the draft (QB wise) is that he was going to need some time to develop. Do we not remember everybody projecting him to go to Green Bay. He was not going to supplant Brett Favre from the get go. Despite what ICE, JP-ERA and some of these other self-proclaimed experts say OVER AND OVER AND OVER again, alot of quarterbacks actually benefit from being able to develop and not be thrown to the wolves right away. Here is the best example of all......JOE MONTANA. I think that Steve DeBerg was starting there in 1979 (Montana's rookie year) and within a couple years Montana was starng and they won the superbowl in 1981. I believe they had a coach on that staff who is very known for developing QB's, and his name is Sam Wyche. OH MY GOD, he is our QB coach for fricking sake. For Jp-ERA, ICE and seq004 and all the other Drew Bashers, why don't you keep your ignorant bashing off the board and quit trying to start the Flutie RJ debate all over again. OUR COACHES ARE PAID FOR MAKING THESE DECISIONS, SO SUPPORT THE TEAM INSTEAD OF TRYING TO FIND SOMEONE TO BLAME ALL THE TIME. Drew has had an up and down season (as had the whole offense), but he is BY NO MEANS the only problem on offense and you guys would try to force everyone to believe. I know alot of you guys who respond to them feel the same way I do, in that Drew's best days are behind him, but he is more than capable of being a good QB when the supporting cast is performng as well. It's a team game and some of these guys unfortunately have to try and find a scapegoat. For those of you who feel that you need to spend all this time to respond to the Drew Bashers, don't waste your time. You won't ever change their minds. JUst relish knowing that our (the Bills I'm speaking of) QB is playing winning football, and let's enjoy the winning, since it has come very sporadically lately. GO BILLS. SQUISH THE FISH.
  9. Sorry, some of us are actually enjoying the football this season and want to see the Bills win, even if it means stunting our future QB's growth. JP will get his time. THey are bringing him along the right way, even though you don't agree with them. That's why you're here posting along with me, while they get paid paychecks to make the right decisions for the football team. It will be ok. If the line continues to play well and Drew gets some confidence back in them, don't be surprised to see him back next year. Either way I will support either Losman or Bledsoe, because they wear the unform of the Buffalo Bills.
  10. So sayeth the iceman. "I said 'If we put it in bledsoes hands we lose, if we don't and put it in McGahee and the D's hands we win' Seems I was right. Folks...we won this game in spite of Drew Bledsoe. 3 more ill advised and crappy picks. AGAIN Great pocket. AGAIN all the time in the world. Over, under, behind throws. " *************************************************** ICE - I read a post early 2day from you prophecying about how later today we will be discussing another loss because of Drew Bledsoe. Way to be behind your team. You probably were rooting for them to lose just so you could look like a genius. Seemed to me that Willis McGahee (of whom I have worn a jersey since the beginning of the year) had about 22 carries for about 60 yards at the time we were up 24-3. How in God's creation do you try to make this to where the Bills won in spite of Drew Bledsoe. Drew Bledsoe had a couple of bad throws but led his team to multiple score after multiple score, and was incredible on 3rd down. He had a very good game in my opinion, and made a couple of bad throws which the other team took advantage of. McGahee was stubborn, but was not overly effective until later in the 2nd half. I loved them sticking with the running game, but we were not dominant by any means, so to say that Willis carried us is not even close to being a true statement. It was a great balance of us setting up the Running Game with the Passing Game and having great balance by the time the end result was there. You try to act like you are right about everything and act like a damned little kid in having to try and prove it, even if it's not true. Some people act like your posts are entertaining, and some of them are every once and a while insightful, but when you get on when of your vendetta kicks (and right now it's Drew Bledsoe), it get's to the point where you take away from being a knowledgeable Bills Fan, which I think you are one, and it comes across as someone who just is trying to get attention. Let the hate go, and enjoy the Bills being a pretty decent team and on the upswing "IN SPITE OF DREW BLEDSOE). It's amazing but on Drew Bledsoe's worst days he seems to have suffered from the rest of the team not showing up as well. It's a team game. Drew had a good game, as did the entire offensive team. Another thing you are wrong about. MIKE WILLIAMS. He's turning into a pretty damned good offensive tackle, so your crusade about moving him to guard needs to go away as well. It's amazing what a good offensive line coach will do, but it takes time.
  11. Thanks Dr. K. It's not even just about the Bills with some of this stuff. That crap that happened to NJSue a couple weeks ago was a prime example, where some idiots got on her about something that was completely uncalled for. There is a difference between "Fan" and "Fanatic",and unfortunately we have a few "Fanatics" out here who seem to think they should be on the Bills Payroll instead of the people who are actually paid to do the job. As far as the D&C, I do remember that and how out of hand it got. I think I started viewing this around early 97 or so, and have done so ever since. Just didn't feel my posting was needed any more with some of the crap that was starting to hapen. Anyhoo, GO BILLS. I think with Mularkey at the help, this team is headed in the right direction, whether it's this year or next.
  12. To the few of you out there who have to try and ruin the excitement of this years team for us, by pointing out what was screwed up, get a life. Football is a game, and a release away from the real problems of the world. Let some of us enjoy it, even if for some unGodly reason you can't even in the weeks that we win a game. I would love to see this board go back to the way it was when it first was created, a bunch of Bills Fans who get together to "discuss" and not argue about the state of our team, instead of the bickering factions it has been since the RJ/DF debacle. That's why I rarely post anymore. Too many people who try to make other posters seem stupid to make themselves look better if someone doesn't agree with them. While everyone is entitled to their opinions, you shouldn't try to force them on others. Especially when you are trying to paint a picture of how bad this years team is. Some football is better than no football, so let's enjoy the season we've got. Our team has it's problems, but it takes time for a new staff to fix them. Now it seems that after the many losses, everyone is pissed off and we want heads, and even after a dominating win, some of you folks who need constant attention (you know who you are) have to still post this crap about the coaches screwed up, why didn't Losman play, Bledsoe's still overthrowing and locking onto Moulds, we're screwing up our future by not playing JP etc. etc. etc. While I know Drew is pretty much done in Buffalo, he still played pretty damned well today. The running game was pretty much shut down in the first half and offense relied on the passing game (amazingly under Drew Bledsoe...sarcasm) to get 17 points. And they did it coming from behind too. Can we just give Drew Bledsoe a little bit of credit for once. I know he's on the downside of his career but the guy has been nothing but a class act and he had a pretty decent game today. If anyone was responsible for the offenses success today, it was him. McGahee (who I love to death) didn't get most of his yards until the 2nd half. As far as Moulds. Yes he is starting to decline. Who cares, the guy is still in the top 10-15 receivers in the game, so let's stop all the let's trade him now, get the first round picks back, he doesn't deserve to be a bill if he is thinking about next year. Guys, I think about a potential new employer many times when I'm frustrated at work. As long as I get more work done satisfactorily then there is no reason to b!tch. Eric Mould is having a decent season on an offense that has struggled. Drew Bledsoe and Eric Moulds are still starting members of "our" Buffalo Bills, so let's treat them as if they are still on team and actually enjoy a win for a change. Let's enjoy a week in which we actually dominated a "first place" team, and hope it leads to bigger and better things in the future (whether it is this year or next). As far as JP Losman, don't get me wrong. I am excited about seeing what he can do later this year, if we are eliminated from the playoffs, but at the same time I think Mike Mularkey wanted to give him a real taste of what an NFL regular season game is like and a quick wake-up call as to what it takes to be prepared in this league. I think that lesson is going to be invaluable to him. You always have to be prepared to go into a game. The Red Sox did the next to impossible, so why can't our team "finally" get it together and make a run. If we don't who cares, but I'd rather see that then to tank the season and give Dallas a top 5 pick. For those of you naysayers who say to give up on the season and start looking towards the future.. Go Bills, win out and prove them all wrong. We have been in every game except 1 this year. I'll worry about next year later.
  13. Actually, Buffalo was in the white jerseys. It was NE and Brady who were in the Blue Jersey's and had all day to look down the field and pick out the receivers who were running wide open. I think the announcers were pointing that out consistantly. SD....if you were sarcastic pardon me. Just in a really bad mood right now after thinking the Bills had progressed to at least compete with the Patsies. What a lousy way to start a week.
  14. unfortunately this team is hapless anytime an opposing defense throws the kitchen sink at us. We don't have linemen smart enuf to figure out who to block, a QB who can figure out a hot read or receivers who can recognize a blitz and help the QB out. The offensive lines told the whole story of tonights game. Our sucked and it forced Drew into his typical klunker against NE, and of course we had no running game at all. I am so tired of seeing our running backs getting hit at the line and struggling to get 2 to 3 yards, but then NE's RB's are going through the line untouched. It's really disturbing how a professional coaching staff can't figure out a way to make a team pay for blitzing, with either quick slants or screens or something. It's either they can't figure it out, or we don't have players capable of executing (and believe me, it's more than just Bledsoe who is at fault). We still got a long way to go. I guess we'll see what JP can do next week.
  15. Mark, the Bills having WM and TH is what even supports it even more. Teams simply stack the line knowing they will overmatch Buffalo's line to either sack Bledsoe or hit the Running Backs in the backfield. That's why our rb's are averaging about 3.5 yards a carry. Teams are not scared of our QB having enough time to get back and get a pass off that could burn them for stacking the line and blitzing the hell out of us. Most teams are against NE, so they don't Blitz that frequently. I wish our receivers were smart enough to figure out hot reads and our QB and WR and RB's could get on the same page to burn teams with screens and slants, but for some unknown reason it doesn't happen. I seen to more occasions yesterday where the intended receiver was turning around after a blitz well after the ball had been released. It's like they can't recognize a blitz.
