Happy Thanksgiving. I'm off to Detroit. But, before I go... Today is my one year anniversary of joining the Wall and I'd like to say Thank ewe. Thank ewe for being some cool people to talk to when things are boring, things are dull or things are just the same as always. One thing that this board is and has been since I joined is passionate. Though we may all have different beliefs, different loves and different ways of looking at the world we all pretty much can agree that we are passionate. I am thankful that you guys are around. Have a great holiday. Ray

I don't feel like writing it all out so I'll do the short version. Early 90's was walking up the stairs in my Falcons jersey right after Deion returned a Kickoff for a TD at the Ralph. I was about 12 or 13. Some guy threw a beer can or something that resembled a beer can at me. My stepfather saw him and they ended up getting in to a fight and both got kicked out. It was stupid and I ended up hearing why I shouldn't of wore that jersey to the stadium all the live long way home. The worst ribbing I ever took was in Shea Stadium when the Braves were playing. Must have been around 1996. Chipper chant was just getting popular....people were yelling at me, I mean screaming "Go the fVck back to Atlanta hick."....and I'm from NY...It was just plum crazyyyy. My dad and I left after the seventh cause I thought I was going to get beatdown on the way out.

I bought an 84 Vette four years ago......60,000 original miles.....hadn't been out of the garage for eleven years. The guy didnt want to part with it........divorce made him. ----------------- Oooooohhhhh that must have hurt.....damn women always wrecking stuff. But, hey it was your gain. Do you store it this time of year? I've gotta find a place for mine. I keep it in the garage. It would be nice to have the extra space in there. Especially in the winter. -

Thanks! I've had her for three years now. The guy who had it before me kept the paint job mint and the engine clean. -

Two Words. Bill Payer. It's Free at most financial instiutions. I haven't mailed anything in about 3 months. -
saw them open for Ozzy in 92 I think. Layne had a broken leg and was in a wheel(Angry) chair. Great show. My girlfriend has old headbangers ball on VHS with a lot of them, including the water park episode. ------------ The water park was a riot...I think it's the only time I saw Llayne laugh out loud.

Alice In Chains "I Stay Away" --------- It's amazing how many people absolutely love their stuff. My favorite band ever as well. Never got to see them in concert but I got to see Jerry Cantrell with Metallica in 1998. He rocked.

Thw Winfield situation is what's wrong with today's NFL. Train young players so you can watch them play for your competition. It's too bad the rules are made to allow small market teams like Buffalo ruin it for everyone else. --------- small market teams...what a joke. 80K every home game and we are small market. Kiss my small market ass.

Absolutely. He's a great corner. But, with the economics of football being such we can't afford two great corners without taking away from another aspect of our team. But, we still love you 'twan.

I was listening to a discussion of this on the radio and they said it's not the worst fan/player brawl in the US. There was one many years ago in Cleveland at a 10c beer night and game between the Indians and Rangers. Does anyone know anything about it? ------------------- I've heard about it before but I never heard about any brawls between fans and players occuring. The fans were fightning among themselves and throwing stuff on the field. The players ended up leaving the field before the game was over.

mmmmm...that sounds good too. Blueberry pie, it's been ages...

That's an indictment of the league...a club with 4 home wins and 6 road losses being middle of the pack??? -------------- ain't that the truth. Miami thing to be thankful for was hiliarious. -
Clements I love that Moulds quote.

Bittersweet Symphony by the Verve 'Cause it's a bittersweet symphony, this life Try to make ends meet You're a slave to money then you die I'll take you down the only road I've ever been down You know the one that takes you to the places where all the veins meet yeah,

I used to subscribe to Chop Talk over 3 years but I didn't like the way it was delivered. I always got it folded in half sometimes torn to shreds. --------------- Maybe your mailman was an Indians fan?

I miss basketball altogether. Man, does the NBA suck today. The word suck can't even do it justice. ---------------------------------------- I agree wholeheartedly. College Bball is the only thing that keeps me going through February and March...

I guess that's what happens when you win regularly but don't close the deal. Sad. ------------- I consider myself lucky to be able to have quality baseball in to October every year.

I'm not being very thankful am I......

My mother is 5'3. If you said that to her, I'm pretty sure she would find the strength to kick the living crap outta you for saying that!! She is up at 6:00am to put the turkey in, yes... but do you think the green bean caserole makes itself? The sweet potatos peel themselves? The white potatos mash themselves? The gravy make itself? The table sets itself? etc, etc, etc... Sure, the rest of us helped out, but my mom is a machine one Thanksgiving day. --------------------------------------------- If there was any disrespect or ignorance in that post then I apologize. My point being I have to work all day tomorrow and then drive to Detroit in the evening to see these folks for Thanksgiving. I just don't understand not cooking a real meal when we are coming all the way out their to see them. Not only that but they have been BEGGING us to come out for the holiday for three years!!!
-
Tons of places are open in Western NY on Thanksgiving, serving turkey dinner. That's a fact, Jack. ----------------------------------------- Right. But, we aren't going out to eat. We are eating in. Unless she was planning on hanging out at a resturant or the Salvation Army and then going home and warming up the frozen meal. She wants to spend time with us....but what exactly are we going to do besides eat, play cards, watch football and talk? It's not like we can head over to the mall. Plus we are gonna be in Detroit not here.
-
Exactly!!!! My wife said she didn't want to have to get up early and put it in the oven. How much does it take to put a bird in the oven and then go lay on the couch.

I got a letter in the mail that my subscription to Choptalk magazine....the Braves newsletter....is being cancelled. The letter stated that they are doing it b/c of lack of interest in the magazine therefore they are discontinuing it. Another sign of the great fan support for the Braves. Being a fan of the Bills, who have one of the most supportive fan bases even in hard times. And a fan of the Braves, who have the crappiest fan base even though they have been to the playoffs 13 years in a row, it amazes me that people can just overlook their franchise like Braves fans do. A lot of cities would love to have the opportunities that the Braves have had. I'm curious if the franchise would still even be in Atlanta if they hadn't been as good as they have been. Sad, sad, sad.....
