  1. Only the Yankees can pay 25 million dollars for a number two hitter. He's your offensive leader like it or not.
  2. You said it right there! They are over 30. Look, 92 wins is pretty darn good and that's what I'm predicting. I don't thing Bernie, Sheff,Giambi, Tino Martinez, Tony Womack, Posada or Sheff will be able to give much more than 135 games. Sure, Jeter and Arod will, but we all saw how Arod fizzled in the three and four spots in the lineup last year. Can you honestly be comfortable with him leading your team?
  3. "Consistently mediocre" when his number one/two reciever missed half of the season and leading his team to a 15-1 record while having the third highest QB rating in the AFC? Not bad for a rookie. My vote goes to Roth.
  4. Comparing Vazquez, Wright and Pavano...I'd say they both are going to have a rough transition period. Vazquez was to the point of dominant in his last year in Montreal. Then NY happened. Vazquez's K/9 numbers were much better and his ERA was lower than Jaret's, .25 of a run higher than Pavano. Also, Vazquez was brought after coming off much more consistency than Pavano or Wright. Wins....yeah well even Vazquez wrapped up 14 last year with the Yanks with his 4.91 ERA.
  5. I do realize they are "awesome", but they still won't win 115 games. Why? Because of the starters as I mentioned and the overall age of your offensive players.
  6. woahhhh.....homer picks right there. Seeing Brownie already is down and probably won't start much at all this year, Pavano and Wright are both NL pitchers who are nowhere near as dominate as Randy is I doubt you are going to get to 115 wins. You'll win 92.
  7. The thing that turns me off about the Red Sox is the fact that they have the "best fans in baseball" yet they play in a tiny ballpark that should sell out with the size of the population around the city. They STILL complain about the payroll disparity yet have the second highest in the game. ....and it didn't help that they allow Jimmy Fallon and Drew Berrymore to run on the field after the Sox won that one game in the playoffs for a scene in a movie.
  8. What a crap start by Wells. A balk with the bases loaded? BoSox fans better be praying Miller and Schilling are healthy soon.
  9. The Braves are wearing their new alternative jersey on 13 Sunday's this year to celebrate their 13 divsion championships. Supposedly they are the red jerseys that have been introduced on MVP Baseball but they are being "offically" relased tomorrow in the exhibition game against the Indians. Should be neat....
  10. Increasing attendance at their respective stadiums every year? A plethora of wealth because of supportive fans? Being well run businesses that know how to churn a profit?
  11. Only way the BoSox were going to get to that WS was to go through you. And honestly if I was a BoSox fan, which I'm not I cannot stand the whining of the general population including Bill Simmons, I wouldn't have wanted to have broken the curse in any other way.
  12. That would be two curses broken against you guys. I'd call that poetic justice.
  13. Yeah whatever, football has had less champions over the last seven years than baseball.
  14. AL East: Yankees AL Central: Indians AL West: Mariners WC: BoSox AL Champ: NY Yanks NL East: Atlanta Braves NL Central: Chicago Cubs NL West: SD Padres WC: STL Cards NL Champs: Cubs WS: Cubs over Yanks AL MVP: Richie Sexson AL CY: The Unit NL MVP: Adam Dunn NL CY: Ben Sheets
  15. We took the lawn ornaments from my grandparent-in-laws basement and stuck them in front of my father in-laws house last year. mind you he had just built the house so there wasn't any lawn but there was a pink flamingo, multiple gnomes, windmills and a big plastic fountain.
  16. I live about 20 minutes away and wouldn't go watch unless I was given tickets. I don't like watching Hockey.
  17. I have cable, so that must be the difference. I only got TBS and the ESPN games when I had DTV a few years ago. The only reason I switched over was for Road Runner but I like having the additional channels come baseball season.
  18. Nope. I watched quite a few Yanks games last year and whenever the Braves were playing the Mets I would watch on MSG if it wasn't on TBS. I hope this hasn't changed. I know the Yanks will still be on YES b/c I've caught a few of their spring training games.
  19. I was considering it this year but between YES, MSG, TBS and ESPN there usually is at least one game on per night. Now if I could only get Turner South I'd be happy....
  20. If this goes through then they should relinquish the Denver Broncos 97 & 98 rings, the NFC Championship for the Carolina Panthers, the Oakland A's WS ring and the list can go on. The problem with this is it's still speculation and no record should be denied until there is hard proof that both Bonds, McGwire and Sosa used substances illegal to the game. Which will never happen.
  21. That's great.
  22. Dayquil or Tylenol Cold?
  23. Can't wait to see Vick in Buffalo.
  24. Raul Mondesi...oh, um, Josh Reed.
