Just Received my Jerseys
Cotton Fitzsimmons replied to FutureBillsGM's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ralph must be dealing with DHGate now to save money... what was that all about? That thing just shredded. -
Jason Peters...Surprise Surprise..

Scrappy, my good man, you commentary is sad, but true. Although this week they should gear toward containment vs. pinning their ears back against Vick. -
Right Now, For The Bills To Get To 10 Wins
Cotton Fitzsimmons replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not very... If they don't get something going against the Patriots this week "Sexy Rexy" is going to start feeling the heat. Perhaps they were overhyped to begin with? They've made runs in the playoffs, but haven't won a lot of games the last couple of years. But as Green Bay proved last year, you can back in to the playoffs and go all the way if you get hot at the right time. -
wow...the media is sliding off the bandwagon
Cotton Fitzsimmons replied to tennesseeboy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We knew the media would start jumping off in droves at the first loss. This gem Cowherd put out on Twitter was amongst YE OLE's favorite barbs thrown at us: @ESPN_Colin Colin Cowherd Where did all the buffalo Bills fans go? Goggle the next eight games for Buffalo. 5-7 is just around the corner. 2 Oct via web Hopefully Chan and the boys "Goggle" the next eight games... DOOOOOOOMED!!!! -
Still Frames of Stevie's Catch
Cotton Fitzsimmons replied to Cotton Fitzsimmons's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think you hit the nail on the head here. By all accounts it appeared to be a good catch. It was initially ruled a catch until the back judge runs in and then there appears to be a mini conference of sorts. It would've been appropriate at that juncture for the Referee to explain what was discussed (ie "process of the catch" BS or whatever the explanation was going to be). It just wasn't clear why the back judge farthest from the play seemingly ruled it differently than the officials closer to said play. Then, even if the review wasn't conclusive, some explanation should have been given, just given the nature of the play. I've rarely, if ever, seen a crew so tight lipped about what was such a critical call in the game. -
I think that's what gets so complex with these modern offensive schemes. One code word can mean x-number of things depending on what the defense is doing. The whole offensive has to be on the same page to make it click. I think that's why there's such a premium on smart players, especially at QB, who read defense quickly and efficiently vs. the old strong armed, drop back and chuck it types.

Still Frames of Stevie's Catch
Cotton Fitzsimmons replied to Cotton Fitzsimmons's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is what sticks in my craw about this whole deal. The ref that was on top of the play called it a good catch, and the rest of the crew seemed on board with that. It wasn't until the back judge way down field comes running in and says NO CATCH. Now what did he see? These images don't show the ball coming loose. -
These still frames of Stevie's catch were brought to YE OLE's attention... what do you guys think? http://www.thebillsblog.com/2011/10/stevie-johnson-catch-vs-bengals.html Just as a side note... it should have never come down to this one call. The Bills lost this game on several other levels. It's simply a closer look at this call, that was indeed pivotal in the game.

Spot on, my good man. Have the Bills gotten a few bounces? Sure. But they don't go 3-0 simply because of bounces. This team is definitely better. How much better depends on how they come out next week, and how they move forward. That will be the difference between 11-5/12-4 and a 7-9 collapse a la '08

Cotton Fitzsimmons replied to DaveinElma's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Part of me wishes he would've signed Burnett... can you imagine the possibilities between Burnett and Sully? -
1400+ yards surrendered in the last 3 games
Cotton Fitzsimmons replied to jester43's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
While it's true that defense is in short supply so far this year across the league, it's especially disappointing that our unit isn't showing more improvement given all the attention spent on it this past offseason. For the most part, the offensive side of the ball was ignored in the offseason. With the investment spent on the defense, it's very disappointing to see them not be able to get off the field in those back to back scoring drives the Bengals put together to close out the game. They are getting turnovers, and up until yesterday the run defense looked improved. Although, they looked eerily similar to Bills teams of recent years the way Benson was gashing long runs at will yesterday. -
ok everyone deep breath..............
Cotton Fitzsimmons replied to SUNTANBILLSFAN's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We just got whipped today. The offense put up 13 points, and the defense could not get a stop on back to back scoring drives to end the game. The non catch call on Stevie was awful... and after review no explanation was even given. Ultimately though, a bad effort all the way around. Next week is going to be a huge test, they must step up and win against an Eagles team that is really up against it to save their season. -
Bills Postgame Quotes
Cotton Fitzsimmons replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed... next week is going to tell a lot about this team. We've all said they've shown great character, and now next week they're going to have to come out swinging. If they come out and get a W next week, today can become just a bump in the road. -
Chan's comments on Stevie "incomplete" catch
Cotton Fitzsimmons replied to MacAddict104's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Gotta believe the CHAN MAN is going to give one those "That call was BS" answers without saying it so as not get fined. It was what it was... awful call, but there were other plays left on the field that should have been made and it wouldn't have come down to a blown call. -
Gailey timeout at the end of the first half
Cotton Fitzsimmons replied to ofiba's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good point... they probably have Dalton take the snap, run around for a few seconds, and take a knee. -
once again we need pass rushers first and foremost
Cotton Fitzsimmons replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It was beyond frustrating to see a rookie QB take this game away from us on those last 2 drives. We desperately needed to generate some heat up front, and just couldn't do it. -
The fact that the tuck rule still exists seems idiotic to me. The way the rule is currently written, any QB could take a snap and immediately pump the ball in their drop back and be covered by the "tuck rule." There's no time restraint placed in the rule... pump the ball once and you fumble after that and it all goes back to the tuck regardless of the ongoing intent of the QB.
