Not so fast...a previous post: In the late '90's Toyoya narrowed coolant passages in their main-stream I-4 and V-6 motors to raise combustion chamber temperatures, to increase fuel efficiency. Oil collecting in the valleys of the cylinder head(s) got overheated and broke down. The resulting sludge eventually broke free and clogged oil passages, resulting in major engine damage. If the settlement is finalized in court this February, 7.5 million Toyota/Lexus current and previous owners will receive notification of the settlement. If you own an affected-class vehicle, read it over carefully. "Toyota Agrees to Sludge Settlement for Consumers. Class Action Suit Brings Relief to 3.5 Million Toyota, Lexus Owners By Joe Benton ConsumerAffairs.Com January 8, 2007 Consumers saddled with sludge-clogged Toyota engines may soon get some help from the Japanese auto giant under the terms of a class-action lawsuit settlement that covers roughly 3.5 million Toyota and Lexus vehicles damaged by engine oil sludge. An engine gummed up with oil sludge can cost thousands of dollars to repair and in many cases must be replaced. The class action settlement could potentially cost the automaker hundreds of millions of dollars. The agreement will allow consumers whose claims have been denied by Toyota to submit those claims to a third-party mediator at no cost for binding arbitration. The lawsuit, filed in a Louisiana district court, could receive final approval by the middle of February. Details of the settlement are being mailed to 7.5 million current and previous Toyota and Lexus owners. The agreement provides owners of sludge-damaged Toyotas eight years plus 120 days from the original purchase date to file a complaint. Toyota consumers who have repaired their sludge-damaged engines may be able to recover their costs. The car only needs to show evidence of oil sludge damage. The terms of the settlement are transferable to future vehicle owners." and "Toyotas covered by the Louisiana settlement include the: • Camry 4 cylinder from 1997-2001, • Camry 6 cylinder from 1997-2002, • Camry Solara 4 cylinder from 1999-2001, • Camry Solara 6 cylinder 1999-2002, • Sienna 6 cylinder from 1998-2002, • Avalon 6 cylinder from 1997-2002, • Celica 4 cylinder from 1997-1999, • Highlander 6 cylinder from 2001-2002, • Lexus ES 300 from 1997-2002 and • Lexus RX 300 from 1999-2002."

Let's draft 'em in the 6th and then sell 'em to Dallas for a fat pick in a few years, like HOU did with Henson. -
IIRC, isn't rotoworld is some guy sitting on a toilet?...I swear, the internet has lowered the national I.Q...

That waterfront property that cheaply houses the political machine's cronies will never be removed. I don't know what the condition is, of the soil and groundwater in areas where the big steel and grain industries of yore plied their trade, but it could be that the first fellow who turns up a shovel there may be in for stellar remediation costs. If that's so, maybe Spitzer (Rasputin) and Schumer (Elmer Gantry) should be working out that problem, rather than huffing and puffing about things like publicly-funded sports stadiums.

There are a number that scout the smaller schools. Check around.

USA Today 50% off....8 Weeks for $14
stuckincincy replied to taterhill's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Ah, I see. But even they have more content in their print version. I don't read it much - it tends a bit toward the tabloid end of the biz (which is fine). Nice sports coverage, though. -

The typeface in a paper is easier on the eyes - and it's not surrounded by distracting boxes, offers, things dancing about. You often notice other items of interest. There occasionally other viewpoints. And I have chronically seen on-line content edited, or truncated, compared to the print version. Additionally, print items offer a better chance of reading something with fact behind it - they are under more scrutiny IMO than the gazillions of net sites, for libel and slander suits. -
Toyota has announced a recall of 533,000 2004 - 07 model year Tundra pick-up trucks and full-size Sequoia SUV's for lower ball joint failure. Honda recalls 81,000 2004 - 05 Accords for a weight sensor failure that causes full-force air bag discharge to the detriment of the small of stature. Nice. The Colt's RFA John Standeford might be worth a look, if he's let go. He was a Purdue WR that was one of Kyle Orton's main targets. He was on IND's practice squad and was brought up after mid-season (I think).

Property is often a good investment. Or maybe he likes gardening, or wants to put his jewelry in display cases?

Happy birthday, gents! -
It would be a good place to re-install the Dancing Dogbones...

It always pays to keep the door open. The Bills certainly did well in times past, with the likes of Frank Lewis and James Lofton.

Steinbach is a marvelous player. He runs a pull and sweep right , approaching the best there ever was. In the too-rare - these days - trap play, he rings a rusher so quick and hard you look for blood to spurt out of the guy's ears. He is a top downfield blocker, and keeps around the action most all plays. He's a good pass protector. But he did play between a heck of a LT, Levi Jones, and a rock who deserved more ink, the now-retired C Rich Braham. When those two went out for most of the season, he was adequate, but not spectacular. He's 6'6", and 300 lb - maybe. And he will be IMO one heck of a left tackle, even at his low weight. Gets position, solid stance, keeps balance, and extends his arms with power - no off-balance reaching. But if one looks for a G that is going to flat-out collapse DTs on run plays, he's not that guy. Good as Steinbach is, no one has seen fit to vote him an All-Pro. He is in part, a victim of his versatility. And all things point that he is going to command a dear price.

Steinbach would not be a good fit in Bflo.

Looks like no end in sight for the Patriots.

And their "high motor" OL... -
There is likely not much of a market out there for WMG. In 14 games...990 yards, 6 touchdowns, 18 catches. Pretty pedestrian - somebody had to carry the ball...

Naa...Brittany doesn't slum around with little millionaires like WMG. She'd laugh at his chintzy 700K jewelery collection. -
Your student's lament...?

I've been trying to sell 'em to the Bills for a couple of years. That 3rd round comp pick onus is gone. The big IF is he can successfully rebound from a bad injury. If so, he's quite a package. He did ST duty, and he pounded folks. B'gals meanwhile have a WR what-to-do. Chris Henry is either a super WR or a bum, plus his off-field shenanigans. Tab Perry is a nice find, very decent KR and versatile WR, but went down early with a severely injured hip. My guess is that they won't try to keep Washington. He will likely end up too pricey for them, and they have some up-and-coming players. Keeping Palmer well-fed with decent wr's is job #1 with that club. PS - if the B'gals somehow let TE Reggie Kelly escape, Bills should grab 'em. Hands, blocking, ideal H-back. He was the player ATL picked before the Bills drafted Price.
