  1. Of course not - a newer model, hardly one to show warts yet. What was the price differential?
  2. Denny's - ugh. They scooted out of CIN several years ago, stiffing their employees. They showed up to padlocked doors and no paychecks... I haven't been back to Bflo since '01. There was a Denny's on NF Blvd I went to when most everything else was closed. What vile food they sold... I'm no fan of Perkins' either. Another outfit that takes the franchise $$$ and hopes that the franchise buyer cares.
  3. jpedwards has a new stage name.
  4. Thanks!
  5. Hybrids by definition have internal combustion engines also. Moreover, the ones that are in most implementations start and stop with large frequency. That cycling is a stress on the internal moving parts, as well as the starting motor, the associated ignition parts, and the flywheel it meshes with. And hybrids have to have very sophisticated control systems, and the more the complexity, the more possibility of component failure. Very pricey components. Honda discontinued its Accord Hybrid. The remaining hybrid vehicles are the Prius, the Civic, the Insight, the 100K Lexus 460h, the Saturn small SUV, the Chevy Malibu, the Ford Escape, and the GM Yukon full-size SUV.
  6. Beerball needs a dressing down...he can't toe the line anymore.
  7. His supporting cast was...salutary.
  8. Most classy name? HOF'er Dante Lavelli. Prego!
  9. PGH's Jack Lambert - media darling, playing between Jack Ham and Andy Russell, Donnie Shell and Mel Blount behind him, and the Iron Curtain in front of him. I saw him as a cheap-shot artist who couldn't cover a pass to save the rest of his front teeth. Now ducking from the PGH faithful... IIRC, he got cashiered out with turf toe.
  10. Eh - another precursor to one-party rule...Lenin smiles.
  11. You didn't answer my question. And you also put words into my mouth in oblique fashion, and proceeded to draw a conclusion on same. Not good.
  12. What issues, what things do we need to be taught about, and by who?
  13. OK. End the "War". Make it all legal. What do you think will happen?
  14. Like...2009 Missouri players? HA HA.
  15. Not great. I advocated the coaches keeping their traps shut and finding their own solutions to deal with this Harrison gnat. Cheap shots, cheap actions, occur. Those with intent aforethought must be requited.
  16. HCCI combustion and trying to work it out is the province of all manufactures, not just M-B. This site you reference doesn't strike me as technically competent. The process is a balancing act between the compression ignition of a diesel and the spark ignition of a gasoline motor. It's extremely sensitive to both changes in ambient air temperatures and ambient air pressure. Here is a quote in the March 2008 issue of SAE's Automotive Engineering International[/i, by Hakan Yilmaz - Manager of System and Powertrain Engineering, of Bosch - a huge player in the auto biz : "HCCI is an excellent meal', Yilmaz explained 'but is a very complicated recipe. You have to prepare everything in advance. You have to make sure everything is perfectly mixed together and hope that combustion will start. Coming to that point is very, very difficult, and so far, the technology is not there for HCCI".
  17. You totally missed my obvious point. What I advocate is running a play to flatten the cur - I though that was adequately implied - and wondered why these "coaches" would bother to agonize and spit out hand-wringing words, when the solution to the Harrison problem is glaringly obvious...
  18. Then endeavor to make all of them legal, my friend!
  19. I agree. But I feel there are no more "conservatives", at least according to my lights. They are no longer electable. The people interviewed in one of Leno's "Jay Walking" are the new electorate.
  20. That's already the case. If I'm stoned and run you off the road and kill you, I will be prosecuted. A question: Say drugs are legal? What happens? Plenty of folks have no qualms about driving with booze in them. Granted, MJ is not the same. But does MJ cloud judgment? Certainly does. Would a medical person having a few saulatory tokes over lunch - it's legal now, remember - give the same scrutiny to your MRI as without? The argument about alcohol doing the same - alcohol use is obvious. One reeks of it by the time in clouds the mind. Take some tokes, walk back to work. I reject any appeal to Amsterdam - a bunch of people in a tiny, tiny nation, toking in a cafe and then walking or taking a bus.
  21. What are those ways?
  22. The agenda? By who? Look up Dem House Leader Tip O'Neill, and the legislation he shoved through (in surprising secrecy) with his Congressional Majority. See how he wanted to counter Reagan's crime stance to show himself and his Dems tough on crime. Look up the death of Celtic 1st round pick Len Bias's death, and that 'ole Tippy had to do something. Of course, it was a classic trap - Reagan had to sign the bill about crack cocaine. Right? Or get roasted by O'Neill & Co., right?
