Why does everyone assume we won't be able to compete if there is no salary cap? As I recall, there was no salary cap until '93/'94. Seems Buffalo put together quite a formidable team without a salary cap. I'm sure they can do it again.

Anytime I watch that miserable Super Bowl tape, I always see Andre Reed's DROPS -- especially the 3rd-down DRIVE KILLER late in the 2nd quarter that, if it had led to points, would have put the Giants in a hole. Andre was a great Bill, but he didn't bring it to THE GAME. The one drop in particular stands out to me almost as much as Wide Right.

I don't know anything about this guy, but I sure do like that statistic for this past season's Bears' secondary.

Not sure I understand this. As I recall, when Polian was around he was quite active on draft day -- trading up or down as needed. After Polian left, the Bills always seemed to stand pat with their draft position.

I tend to agree. He is definitely a top-caliber running back, but I think he's the type to put himself ahead of the team. I wonder if winning football games is really that important to him. On the other hand, I'd sure hate to see him racking up yards against us playing for someone else! It's a tough call. Perhaps Levy and Jouron can get him to be a little more team-oriented and focused on just doing his job and becoming better at picking up blitzes in passing situations. His story is incredible. To return to football after what he went through is truly an amazing story and the guy deserves an awful lot of credit for that. That said, he needs to start helping this team win football games. If he does that, then the money will take care of itself.

I just hope Van Pelt doesn't tell his QB to spike the ball on 4th down! Sorry, I couldn't resist. Seriously, I think he would do a fine job.

Buffalo Bill was a cowboy -- not a bison. I would like to see some type of likeness to Buffalo Bill on the helmet and not a bison. Yes, I know this is virtually a sacrilegious statement in Buffalo, but it makes the most sense.

I want an American car that gets at least 60 MPG or more. Where's the vision and foresight? American auto makers are about 10-15 years behind the times.

Hope it works out. Just wondering -- seems like HC would choose OC & DC first, and THEN choose other assistants, thus allowing input from OC & DC on the other assistants. Wouldn't that be the proper protocol for something like this?

Like you, I was initially down on the decision, but I'm warming up to it (don't have much choice if I plan to continue following this team). I'm heartened about what former players said about him. Let's just hope he brings in a very, very solid OC -- that decision is critical to the future success of the franchise.

Lou Saban also assembled "The Electric Company" in his 2nd stint with Bills. At least he KNOWS that success starts with the offensive line. OJ was beginning to look like a bust until Saban resurrected his career.

There's been a few articles & threads indicating that certain defensive coaches (I'm not sure which ones) kind of criticized MM while in the company of defensive players -- very, very unprofessional whether deserved or not.

To read some of the threads on this board, Buffalo might just as well write the season off now and just wait until next year. It's obvious, you know, that no coaching staff at the Senior Bowl = 2-14 record this coming season. What's the point now? Might as well just fold up the tent and give up for this year -- too late now, you know. I simply do not follow this logic. It's one stupid game, albeit an important one, and does not make or break a franchise if full coaching staff is not assembled to scout it. Anyhow, in all likelihood, whoever Levy hires is probably scouting the game right now.

Her article is dead-on correct. The fans posting here lately (not all, but many) have been negative beyond all reason. These negative fans don't deserve to have this team. I wouldn't blame Ralph if he took this franchise elsewhere -- enough is enough.

This has got to be one of the most negative threads I've seen in a while. Why the hell is everyone so down on Levy? He hasn't even made his first major decision as GM and everyone wants to toss him out. I think maybe the Bills should be given a year off -- a "Bye Year". THEN, maybe all you insolent bastards would appreciate that we even HAVE an NFL team! Levy WILL find a coach and he WILL find a good coach. I trust Levy's judgement. He doesn't have to make a decision today. He can take all the time he needs to find his guy.

Agree! JP has nothing but upside. He is the future. Time for the team and the fans to get on board with that fact.
