  1. Actually two: Redskins last season, and the Jets the year before. Here's a stat I find even more relevant: Under Jauron, the Bills haven't won a game against a team that won 11 or more games during that season. Out of the 9 games they played against those teams in the 2006 and 2007 seasons, they lost more than half of those games by 22 points or more. Face it, the "Jauron mentality" is to strive for mediocrity and hope you achieve "just enough better" to make the playoffs.
  2. I prefer... One Billshit Drive
  3. I wouldn't be shocked if Losman isn't on a roster next season, but I expect he will be. One big thing he has going for him is how he has (and in particular hasn't) conducted himself this past offseason and during this season. Other than requesting a trade via his agent, he hasn't been a distraction at all. Never whined to the media about not getting traded, never whined to the media about not getting a "fair chance" to compete for the starting job, never complained publicly about not getting playing time. Teams looking for a backup or 3rd QB will take note of that, look at his physical tools, and say to themselves "we could do a lot worse."
  4. http://www.rogerscentre.com/inaround/seatfinder.jsp I tend to trust seating diagrams from the stadium's site as being the most accurate. Keep in mind this is a multi-purpose stadium. I suggest you compare the baseball seating diagram to the Bills seating diagram to get a better picture in your mind about how the seating is setup. The entire 100 level at the Bills games are seats which aren't there when they play baseball. Some seats in the upper decks are probably quite a bit further away from the field compared to similar seats at the Ralph.
  5. It's just a game. It's not live and death. Perhaps your new son will help you develop a better perspective on all of this. The first time you need to take your son to the doctor, for even the most trivial of reasons, you'll likely recognize how insignificant the Bills are compared to him, and have a better chance of enjoying any Bills game stress-free regardless of the circumstances/outcome.
  6. People keep repeating this, but there's no rational or medical supporting reason. Trent looked just fine in the San Diego game. Why would his concussion symptoms have somehow reappeared after that? Put simplistically, a concussion is a brain bruise. Once the bruise heals, the symptoms go away. Have you ever had a bruise that completely healed, and then suddenly reappeared all by itself?
  7. Clearly what you suggested, demoting Jauron while promoting April, would never happen. OTOH, what I suggested is perfectly plausible. If Jauron does get fired, I would be shocked if April isn't at least given the opportunity to interview for the job.
  8. A question for all the Jauron bashers - what would you think if Jauron got fired and Bobby April got promoted to HC? IMO out of: A) Jauron staying B) Jauron fired, replaced by April C) Jauron fired, bring in somebody from the outside C is the least likely option. I'm not sure whether I prefer A or B. April is an outstanding ST coach, but with no HC experience I don't know if we would be any better off.
  9. As mentioned by others elsewhere, Cowher isn't a realistic option for the Bills, since Ralph isn't going to pay the kind of $$ he's looking for.
  10. FYI, email I sent to Adam Benigni The only part I changed was x'ing out my last name in this post
  11. Channel 2 has an article about this on their web site: http://www.wgrz.com/news/local/story.aspx?...75&catid=37 I couldn't find anything about it on any of the other local TV web sites or the Buffalo News. Checking the FAQ at the "Contact Us" section of the Buffalo News, it says there not to email them unsolicited news tips, but to instead contact them by phone.
  12. Do they have a chance? Yes. Do they have a realistic chance? No. Even if the Bills manage to accomplish what you suggest, they would be 10-6 with a 2-4 division record and a 7-5 conference record. They would almost certainly lose the tiebreakers to every other 10-6 team. The only real chance for the Bills to make the playoffs is to run the table 11-5.
  13. You could consider hiring an attorney. Regardless the ridiculous statement issued by the Bills that Howard Simon read, it seems obvious the Bills are at fault here based on the accounts I've read in this thread. You shouldn't have to pay a penny. Any reputable attorney would take a case like this on a contingency basis and tell you upfront what % of any settlement they would take as the fee. (There's no way the Bills would not settle. The embarrassment of having to defend themselves in court over something like this would cost them lots more than they would ever settle for.) Just ask around to find somebody reliable. (not somebody who advertises on TV all the time) Here's a semi-related story: A friend of mine and his wife, who happen to both be attorneys, were invited to a Bills game by a friend of theirs. This friend went to use the bathroom at halftime, but never returned to his seat during the game. It turns out he was standing outside the bathroom, near a group of people who were smoking pot. Some overzealous security guard rounded up everyone, including him, and ejected them from the stadium. My friend wrote a letter to the Bills, and the matter got settled fairly quickly and very quietly, for IIRC about $3000.
  14. http://www.johnnyroadtrip.com/schedules/nfl_future_afce.htm There is a formula that determines every team's opponents based in part on rotation and in part on the previous season's standings. That's locked in, and can't be changed. The instant the regular season is over, you can determine exactly what home and road opponents each team will have the following season. Sometime between then and the start of the next season, the league determines the schedule for each team, and teams have some input into this process, in large part to avoid scheduling conflicts. For example, the Bills never play at home the weekend they have the high school championship games at the Ralph.
  15. IMO the chances of the Bills winning the next two games, making the Toronto game meaningful, are pretty good. With their division/conference record, the chances of the Bills making the playoffs at 10-6 are not very good. There's a very good chance they'll need to win out and go 11-5 to make the playoffs.
  16. let's see, out of McGee, McKelvin, Greer, should we: A) keep the least athletic one, who has already pretty much maxed out his potential? (He did go undrafted for a reason) or should we: B) keep the two with the most athletic skills, one of whom has shown he can do a capable job against even the elite WRs in the league, when healthy, and the other who shows enormous potential? DUH, this is not a difficult choice. If you have to choose out of the three, Greer goes. The Bills blitzed like maniacs last night, frequently leaving McGee "on an island" against Edwards. Even though there were something like 19 balls thrown that way, Edwards had what could at best be considered a "good" game. At nickel, they have Corner and Youboty. Since Youboty's health is clearly a ? they'll probably either draft somebody mid/late round, or pick up a veteran FA to compete for that roster spot.
  17. Upon further review, Hardy was on the field for one play in the 2nd half, a 3rd down play in the 3rd quarter with about 5:30 remaining. The Bills really didn't have any "red zone" opportunities in the 2nd half.
  18. The Bills started the game in a 3 WR set - Evans, Johnson, and Parrish. The Bills used a wide variety of personnel combinations and formations in this game. I was having trouble following because ESPN typically bounced around through various camera angles and only showed the whole field for a few seconds before the ball was snapped. I know for sure that I saw Fred Jackson lined up as a wideout several times in some of the multiple receiver sets. I'm also pretty sure I saw Hardy on the field in the 2nd half. I'm transferring the game to DVD now, and it's just about halftime. I'll try to confirm if he was/wasn't on the field in the 2nd half. In any case, Johnson clearly got much more playing time than Hardy. I remember reading a few weeks ago one of the Bills coaches saying that one thing Hardy needs to learn is to adjust his route based on the coverage. He never had to do that in college, and he said that they didn't even know that until after they drafted him. I find that astonishing. There's a scout working for the Bills who should get fired on the spot. That sort of oversight is totally unacceptable.
  19. That's an insult to Spock. Knowing Lindell's career % from over 45 yards, it's completely illogical to call those 3 running plays at the end of the game, especially when you have plenty of time for the coaches to discuss what play to call with Cleveland taking timeouts. And that's just one example.
  20. It would probably have to be Channel 2. Channel 4 probably wouldn't want to do it because Murph works there, and Channel 7 definitely wouldn't do it because they're "the official station of the Buffalo Bills".
  21. As is the case with most of the other problems with the Bills organization, the underlying issue is that they're just too cheap to do it right. The basic problem with their security system for entering the stadium is they don't have enough "friskers". Think about it for a second, what takes longer, patting somebody down, or scanning a ticket at a turnstyle? But they have like what, two people at each gate patting people down, and ticket takers and other security people just standing around doing nothing. How much would it cost to double the number of "friskers"? Maybe $1000/game? They take in hundreds of times that each game in concession revenue alone, but they're too cheap to hire a few more people so the fans aren't inconvenienced or even put in a potentially dangerous situation.
  22. I'm being purposely cynical with these particular remarks, but unfortunately they're probably more true than anyone here wants to admit. During the ESPN pregame show, they were having a discussion about the McNabb remarks about not knowing regular season games only go one OT. Tom Jackson mentioned that his coach took nothing for granted, even writing down and telling all the players that "Winning games is our #1 goal". Unfortunately, that's apparently not the #1 goal at OBD. Examples: Not hiring a "real" GM, instead letting someone with lots of business experience but no football experience run the show. Hiring assistant coaches "on the cheap". (already mentioned that in separate thread I started) Spending well under the cap the last two seasons. I noticed several teams signed a CB in this past week. Is there any reason (other than tight pockets) the Bills didn't do the same? As long as the Bills are selling out their home games, IMO management will consider the team to be a "success", regardless of the W-L record.
  23. OL coach Sean Kugler is in his first year as an NFL OL coach. He was an "assistant OL coach" last season, and worked primarily with the tackles. Most of our OL problems this season have been with interior linemen. When he was in Detroit, part of the time when Jauron was also there, he "worked with OL and TE", which means he probably didn't do much with interior linemen there either. "Pill" is in his first year as an NFL QB coach. His only previous QB coaching experience was for NFLE and UB. His first two years working for the Bills he was a "quality control" coach, responsible for breaking down film, which sounds almost like a glorified clerical job. Turk Schonert had never held any coaching job other than QB coach prior to this season. His resume includes "developing" JP Losman while he was the starter here, also Aaron Brooks for the Saints in 2005 when they had a 3-13 record, Kerry Collins in 2003 when the Giants had a 4-12 record, Chris Wienke for the Panthers in 2001 when they went 1-15, Flutie/Johnson in Buffalo from 1999-2000, and Tampa Bay from 1992-1995 when they never had a winning season during that time. Starting to see a pattern here?
  24. I disagree. Most of Lindell's kicks have a bit of a "draw" (golf term) with the ball moving from right to left. Generally speaking, that's a much easier kick to make from the left. Assuming the ball is going to "draw", it seems like it would be much easier to pick out your aiming point from the left side vs. the right. Another thing to keep in mind is that Jauron used essentially the exact same strategy in the Raiders game earlier this season. The difference in that game was those 3 runs after the two minute warning gained about 20 yards, making the kick much more probable.
  25. The most obvious recommendation would be in the lot you decide to park in at the stadium. This isn't NYC; people as a general rule tailgate before games as opposed to going to a restaurant. I believe some of the regular participants in this forum usually park in "Hammer's Lot", which is on Abbott near the Drive 2 entrance.
