Did I just see "Giants sign AJ Klein" on the scroll? Let the recycling continue.

I don't like the spying thing for Lamar, anyone on defense you spy up on him is at a disadvantage as Lamar can win 1-on-1 in the open field 90% of the time. The Bills scheme where DBs and backers don't often have their eyes turned around, and have the play in front of them, works a lot better. Just have to contain and rally once he breaks out of the pocket. Yes, the faster you force him to decision, the more the advantage swings to the defense. He's not an elite processor.

NFL WEEK #4 - Bills at Ravens - Post Game Thread

He was a terror all preseason. I would have kept him over Lawson honestly, but he got through to the PS and since has been signed to the 53, because pro scouts see this stuff. -

No worries mate! I'm in the middle of rewatching, it was the last series of the first half where Poyer came through the receiver and could have been flagged but wasn't, just like the Raven defender on McKenzie in the first half wasn't. Both 3rd downs, both resulting in a defensive stop. It was one of the first blitzes the Bills ran, and forced the first punt from the Ravens. Speaking of adjustments, I was dumping all over Frazier midway through the 2nd quarter but the Bills D coaches definitely were figuring it out. Baltimore drives: 1) TD 2) TD 3) FG 4) FG 5) Punt 6) Punt 7) Punt 8) Punt 9) Int 10) Int -

I know that when I had the "New Member" tag under my name, the first thing I did was pick a contrarian argument with the guy who has "Moderator" under his. Troll Union, membership # T193746. -

I was referring to the third down stop that Poyer defended. He did came through the back of the Raven receiver. Are you referring to the end zone interception? I mean, Poyer did make a lot of plays Sunday! -
A Few Thoughts About the Ravens Game, in no particular order
Ralonzo replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
Correct on the tipped pass to Knox, he was expecting it right in the body and it ended up fluttering and arriving behind him, he reached and tipped it again. The Lamar stretch looked like it was marked exactly right, a half yard short. It's where the ball crosses the boundary while the runner is still inbounds, OR the location of the ball when the runner steps out of bounds, if the ball hasn't yet crossed the boundary. While Lamar was still inbounds, the ball reached the boundary a half yard short. -
Ran it thought the transmogrifier but it's age-restricted. I wonder why?

I'm not baffled by Cook, Beane thought he had McKissic for the role but got punked by the Comanches. He reached for a substitute. I wonder about taking a better linebacker in the second, and not having to reach for one in the 3rd, and eschewing RB altogether would have led to a better roster since Blackshear looked like he earned the roster spot that Cook was gifted.

Davis' bad wheel means he's not able to run routes at peak level and does not get the separation he had been. Hodgins doesn't have the wheels to get separation to begin with, but where Davis has historically had great hands, Hodgins has elite hands and high-pointing ability. He's just not a thick body type to fight through contact like a Mike Evans nor can he open up with speed like the more angular types like Ceedee Lamb. That's why he's on the PS. If the Bills can find a way to use his stregths as a Big Slot as we saw in preseason he can be productive, I think. Shakir is the first thought to replace Crowder in the slot and should get the first crack at it, but a platoon of quick & shifty, and then big & reliable could work pretty well, rather than 3 very similar guys in Crowder McKenzie and Shakir operating from the same point.

THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - They Are Who We Thought They Were
Ralonzo replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall
The zone-blocking scheme Kromer likes for inside run isn't working, the Bills have guys who are mobile and athletic but are not physically dominating maulers. They're getting beaten trying to move bodies 1-v-1. Late last year when the Bills got Bates in the lineup and used their high-RAS linemen to advantage with pin-and-pull concepts the running game got going and the Bills O turned into a juggernaut. I hope the coaches are adaptable enough to realize this and not stick to inside zone the same way they stick to running Moss in the inside zone. It's a byproduct of using the "mobile QB" formula of rushing the passer - namely 1) don't go upfield beyond the QB, and 2) don't lock up with blockers, in case the QB takes off you need to be disengaged in order to make the tackle. In that concept, DL sometimes aren't really even trying to get to the QB, just contain him, and try to affect the throw, i.e. jump and get the hands up. Same thing the Bills do against Lamar and Mahomes. -
they got to got to got to got to got to got to got to got to got to got to got to got to got to got to got to set him free
-
Yeah that would break my heart if they choked and went to 2-2
-
That DB didn't even have to move, did he? Mahomes lobbed it directly at him.
-
Yikes, Beasley has lost another step that he didn't have.

Mahomes performing a nipple-check on Kelce.

NFL WEEK #4 - Bills at Ravens - Post Game Thread
Ralonzo replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm usually non a fan of Mumbles' crew but they weren't terrible today. The same play that ended a Bills drive when a Raven went through McKenzie just a beat before the ball arrived without a PI flag, that was a mirror image of Poyer arriving just a hair early later in the game that the Ravens fans are freaking out about. So it was a consistent standard there, what's there to cry about? For as many times as the Ravens got away with clocking Allen in the head - and they were making a point of it all game, every time they got near him - Allen lobbied to watch for it. And when the guy came in late at the end, Allen made sure the helmet to the chin snapped his head back. Whether it hit hard, hit soft, or missed, it was set up by all the liberties they were taking all game long. It's annoying how the replay shows are taking that one play of context and smacking their lips and going "ahhh I don't know if that's a penalty" as if that happened on a down where the Ravens would otherwise have gotten a stop without the call. It's disingenuous and meant only to stir up the syrup. -
