NFL Ref John Parry joins NFL team (Update: It’s the Bills!)
Ralonzo replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't get why this is a big deal, the Chiefs buy a ref every game. -

I'm going to reference myself and say there's a non-zero chance Alec Anderson is one of the top-5 OL and potentially starts at center. At worst, one of the top-6 who's in on jumbo sets. Anderson's IOL flex has value in backing up multiple positions on gamedays, similar to Bates. Still, with the Bills drafting a C-only guy in Van Pran, the easy button would be to pencil in Anderson as the 6th man. If he builds at all on what he shows when he had a chance last year he just has to play somewhere on that line.

It was fine for KC because the Bills run like Hellmuth.

Those shorts really should be paired with over-the-calf tube socks with 3 stripes.
-
He's going to have to play against KC, so...

This deserves a Ban and a kick in the Can -
Big Frank Gore, the 142nd fastest running back in the West.

RIP in peace... sure I could post Pixies or In Utero, but Albini generally only produced stuff that interested him, and it didn't matter if it didn't interest anyone else. This might be one of those lost items Curiously, his alternative career was a world-class poker player. HORSE is a discipline of 5 different poker games, it's really for the hardcore players. Impressive as af.

Rd 6, Pick 219: CB Daequan Hardy, Penn State
Ralonzo replied to section122's topic in The Stadium Wall
Plus, everyone last year who was talking about Hardy returning kicks will finally be correct. -
Is this still about Coleman? The 40 has a lot of non-football applicable track stuff associated with it. It's a good measure but not the be-all end-all. However: The GPS tracked peak speed IS football applicable, very much so. Coleman never hit 20mph last year. That is what concerns me. For someone who "plays faster" he's not moving fast.

Here's another what-if - If the Bills had not traded #144 to Chicago for a 2025 R4, who would you have drafted? I was having a small tantrum because I wanted Booker at 128, 141 AND 144 real-time. But knowing who the Bills had already drafted (and excluding Booker), to me the next best choice would have been Jamari Thrash WR Louisville. It'll be interesting to see how he does. A presumed high 4th next year is nice but it's still next year's capital.

Playing the What If Game for the Bills taking Cooper Dejean, and then navigating the draft availables from that point. The first domino affects all the rest ya know... so I'm trying to put myself in the mindset of not knowing what to expect later and draft the guys I would have been looking at there, and retconning the different picks. Pick 33: S Cooper Dejean, Iowa Pick 60: OT Kingsley Suamataia, BYU - I don't reach for receiver here because Coleman/Mitchell would have been the choice here if they made it, but if not we have 95 for someone of the next tier. Pick 95: WR Troy Franklin, Oregon - The underlying metrics can't be that wrong that he's still falling. Doing this with the idea to grab a physical counterpart later. Pick 128: CB TJ Tampa, Auburn - Tampa, Hicks and Booker were the value picks sticking out to me, and we have the Safety already. Tampa is plug and play coming from a zone scheme, it's not a desperate need but he's an R2 grade at pick 128 at a premium position, that's nuts. I have other Edge guys in mind for later. Pick 141: DE Austin Booker, Kansas - I still have later round guys in mind but can't resist the value here. Pick 160: RB Tyrone Tracy, Purdue - Still need to fill IOL, DT and RB2 positions, there's been a mini-run on RB and just one interesting guy left in this tier. Pick 168: DT Gabe Hall, Baylor - Hall is value at this pick (in theory - he went UDFA, but this is what I'd have been thinking) where I'd be looking at guys like him or Carter in this range, but let's assume Carter is gone. Pick 204: WR Brenden Rice, USC - We were prepared to get Flournoy here, but Rice is younger and longer and almost as fast, and still on the board somehow as a "true" X boundary receiver. Pick 219: C Kingsley Eguakun, Florida - All the Kingsleys! A good technical center and appeals to Beane's emphasis on leadership. Pick 221: LB Curtis Jacobs, Penn State - Linebacker U. Good speed and ST utility. Brugler's comp is "poor man's Terrell Bernard" lol. Now it's worth noting that 3 of these picks made it to UDFA (Hall, Eguakun, Jacobs) which I wouldn't have known looking at who was out there.

I watched the whole draft and was torn between 3 choices at 33 (well, trade down one still my favorite). Anyway, #1 was [pick a WR] #2 Johnny Newton #3 Cooper Dejean. Gonna take a quick stab with drafting Newton instead. Alternate Draft: Pick 33: DT Johnny Newton, Illinois Pick 60: OT Kingsley Suamataia, BYU Pick 95: WR Luke McCaffrey, Rice Pick 128: S Jaden Hicks, Washington State Pick 141: DE Austin Booker, Kansas Pick 160: CB Caelen Carson, Wake Forest Pick 168: WR Bub Means, Pitt Pick 204: RB Dylan Laube, NH Pick 219: DE Myles Cole, Texas Tech Pick 221: C Nick Gargiulo, South Carolina

If you don't invest a draft pick for Keni-G you have to settle for a UDFA like Keni-H. But seriously 4.37 in the forty has to be tops for the Bills secondary. -
-
Right there.
-
I mean, if you want a freak athlete to develop there was Myles Cole. 6'6" 270 running 4.6 and change, who has actually taken snaps of American football. If Wade never got a real shot, neither will this guy I think.

Lee Smith. Tommy Doyle. Tommy Sweeney. When he gets full run you'll see that Alec Anderson is the IOL version of Spencer Brown (who is legitimately hilarious)
-
Some people just don't run well until they're getting chased. If he likes winter clearance wait till he discovers Kohl's.
