Bills are 8-2 for the first time in over 30 years
Sabres 2025 replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
I am not saying they aren't an issue, but they are not better teams than the Bills. The Chiefs are not playing well and the Ravens have dropped games against the Raiders and Cleveland. They can't stop the pass. We had no receivers the first time we played them. Shakir was hurt and Cooper wasn't on the roster. The Lions appear to just be better than us and everyone else in the league. If they beat up on the Texans in Texas tonight they are a legit heavy favorite to win it all. -
I get the feeling we are going to be in some close games over the next 5 weeks. Should know a lot about the Bills and Tyler Bass by mid December.

KC and Baltimore are very beatable. KC has looked awful at times and the Ravens can't stop the pass. I won't be shocked if they don't win their division and get bounced in the opening round. Can the Bills beat Detroit in a Super Bowl? They will need some turnovers and some luck. Not likely, but not impossible. -

Definitely worried the Lions are going to "Raven" the Bills. These physical teams are just a terrible matchup for the small Bills defense. The Ravens secondary makes them beatable though, but the Lions appear to have no flaws right now. -

I agree. I think we can go 3-1 if we beat the Chiefs. I am worried about losing to the Chiefs and then dropping 3 out of 4. The Chiefs, Niners, and Lions are going to make the Bills run defense work. Is the McDermott defensive scheme capable of beating physical teams? I don't know. -

I think he will beat some of those teams and is going to take this team to the Super Bowl but I also think he is gone if they have an early exit in the playoffs, especially if they lose every single game this year to the elite teams. The fans won't tolerate another early exit. -

He won't be fired because people weren't buying PSL's, he would be fired because the PSL owners opinion would be correct. You can't waste the talent of a generational QB like Josh Allen because your coach is not capable of beating good teams with good coaches. I actually have faith in McDermott and think he will win a Super Bowl for the Bills. I worry a little about the Lions, but I think the Bills are going to the Super Bowl this year. -

McDermott is gone if they lose to all the good teams like the Ravens, Texans, Chiefs, Niners, and Lions and only beat up on bad teams. The PSL owners will push him out if they don't have any faith in him getting the team to the Super Bowl. This is the year they have all the leverage over the owner.- 193 replies

With the team trying to sell PSL's and with a move to the new stadium in 2026/27 season, the season ticket holders will definitely have a lot of leverage with respect to McDermott. If he loses on Sunday then Pegula will have to really start thinking about whether he can keep McDermott if they can't get past the Chiefs in the playoffs. The Lions game also becomes an issue if he loses to KC. Can McDermott survive if he only beats non-playoff teams but can't be the good teams like the Ravens, Texans, Chiefs, and Lions? I don't know. -

Win or lose next week really shouldn't matter in terms of McDermott's future. If they lose to the Chiefs in the playoffs the owners have to make a very difficult decision to make, especially if the season tickets holders demand a change. -
As we have found out already this year, you can start slow against bad teams, but good teams will make you pay for it. I think the problem sort of fixes itself in the playoffs because the games are intense from the opening kickoff, but coaching is an issue.

If Brian Daboll gets fired, would you take him as OC?
Sabres 2025 replied to Doc's topic in The Stadium Wall
Offense isn't the Bills problem any longer now that they have a WR1. If the Bills don't win the Super Bowl it will be because of the McDermott run defense. This problem has been there the entire time McDermott has been the head coach and he refuses to fix it. If Milano comes back in December the run defense could be adequate enough to win, but the Ravens, Chiefs, and Lions are going to run the ball on the Bills. -
The MVP Race is 3 Players & Why they Can Win
Sabres 2025 replied to Wizard's topic in The Stadium Wall
Winning MVP's prior to winning a Super Bowl. No thanks. Just makes you look like a regular season MVP that can't produce when it matters. -
When Kyle Brandt picked the Bills to go to the Super Bowl this year and lose. You don't have to pick the Bills to win the Super Bowl, but you can't have them making the Super Bowl and losing.

The terrible officiating and constant flags are hurting the NFL. I think there is also a perception that Roger Goodell is using the refs to get desired outcomes. I have to admit that it sure looks like the league is using refs to keep games close in order to keep viewers watching. So many options out there for entertainment now.

I think they are trying to light a fire under Bass. They aren't going to replace him with a guy who couldn't make the Panthers. At least not yet.
-
I like Decisive Beane, McDermott needs to learn how to be decisive like Beane. He seems to be one of the most indecisive coaches in the NFL.
-
You may be right, but Bass is not going anywhere. McDermott pretty much made that clear today. Let's hope he kicks the game winner in the Super Bowl and makes us all look stupid.

The Bills should bring in other kickers, but Orchard Park is not an easy place to kick. Are the Bills really going to find a better kicker than Bass? If a guy could kick he probably would be on some roster already.
