9/7/25 1st Half Game Thread - Bills vs Ravens SNF
JP51 replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
This defense is an embarrassment to anyone who has ever been employed im the history of employment if Babich isn't fired at halftime that's a travesty -
That's a looooooong list but I have to agree
-
and definately a saftey or 2...

Pretty sure Tua kept it... I would call the Dolphins.. he may give it up for a price. LOL -
RIP DD, I remember my father and Uncles talking about him...
-
I do not at all disagree in the end I think is a combination of both at this point I lean more into Beane lots a money wrapped into mediocre defense lots of mediocre d line picks... interested to see if this draft changes anything
-
Yes I will and I will also get blasted by the other side that hates Beane's drafting except for Allen... and you know what, I won't disagree with either of them... because I myself just don't know if its the chicken or the egg... I don't see the massive overall talent on this team outside of Allen and a couple others... especially on the D Line... and wonder if he really isnt doing a good job with what he has... and then I see some in game decisions that are so bad its mind blowng... so, I got my fire ######ant suit on... they can flame away, its good discussion... and you are also right the salary cap era is different for sure.
-
This will not be a popular take... Give Saban, Knox, or even Mc D Marv's roster with all of those HOF'ers and Pro Bowlers like literally a roster that i have not seen the likes of almost ever I think those three win at least 1. Marchibroda was the mastermind of that team... and all three of those guys would have fired Walt Corey who took a defense comprised of Bruce Smith, Cornelius Bennett, Nate Odomes, Leonard Smith, Shane Conlan and Darryl Talley to dead last in the NFL...
-
The debate rages on the board and in my head LOL.... there are times that I am yelling at the TV fire him... he will never be good enough... then I remember the criticism of Polian and for 20 years longed for someone like him as we attempted to redefine mediocrity as a franchise... but I dont want to settle for another Marv type "well we were good and that was a fun ride"... so I wonder... does firing the coach help i dont care what we have to do to win it all.... who do you bring in... is this another 2 years of Allen's career before everyone is on the same page in hopes the next guy is better? But some of his game day decisions are horrible.. and back and forth I go... then I wonder when I look at this team is this guy really out coaching what most could do, is he the right guy for the right situation... Sometimes I wonder about the over all talent level here (there are no Reed, Thomas, Smith, Talley, Bennett, Conlan, Odomes, L Smith, Wolford, Ritcher, Hull, Lofton, Tasker talent amalgamations here to compliment Josh) .... especially on Defense... Benford is great... Bernard is B plus, Milano hasn't been available... the defensive line is a C something our overall 2ndry in the past few years has been a fire drill.... Offensive line is very good TE our average, WR are average... injuries have been exhausting,. outside of Allen and maybe Dawkins and for 1 year Cook and even going into the past with Diggs maybe a cup of coffee with a healthy Milano... who have the studs been on this team. Where are the game wreckers on defense... Is it possible that McDermott is taking this team as far as its talent will go... Is his flaw he finds weak D cords so he can run defense... Would we be the Bengals or the Cowboys or the Chargers without him? Or are we the 90's Bills with Marv and coaching is the only thing stopping us... Right now. I am putting down my pitchfork I wanna see this year... I reserve my right to pick it up at any time. Because I know this.. we are completely wasting Josh and they need to figure this out...

Checking in on Culture-Building in Miami...

Kevyn Adams says: Hold my beer.... LOL...(I just couldn't resist) ok seriously, I agree 100% look at the Bills how many players say I will only go play with them, or want to come here etc... build a winner, build a respectful lockerroom and a close knit team, have competent adults in charge.... sounds like the Fins havent even checked off one of those requirements... -
and the cowboys with Switzer

Isaiah Likely to be out for the Bills Ravens game.
JP51 replied to BigAl2526's topic in The Stadium Wall
Too soon? LOL -
I was pushing it a bit with the Jets... LOL for dramatic effect... I had a Raiders fan trying to Brag on their superbowls... I think my response was... Donna Summer called she wants her Aqua net back... LOL but you get my over all point I am sure
-
In the end, if you are arguing against fans of a team with multiple superbowls or even 1 superbowl... they always have the trump card... they really need to win 1... just 1... because in the end it is the only thing that matters... and it always ends up there... and quite frankly there isnt alot to say after that... I mean... even the Saints can pull one out and shut people down... the freaking Jets can... So I am happy to banter back and forth etc.. but it always comes back to winning one... I hope this is our year.

Yeah, I am not thinking that this is the pre cursor to a signing... I am thinking this was get under the cap and leave room for injury signings. Although the practice squad honestly provides some depth i am not used too...

What’s your favorite Bills opening day game?

Mine was the Raiders pre season game in 1973 I was 5 2nd game the stadium was open. And that Dolphins game in 80 is a helluva 1st game dude! Nice! -
Week 1, Nevermores v. Bills, PREDICT THE SCORE!
JP51 replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
Ravens 38 Bills 31 Defense isn't ready to play, secondary is a fire drill and we force 1 punt. Josh looks great but Henry's ability to run at will chews the clock and the 3rd and long conversions with Lamar's legs, our lack of pass rush and total inability to cover will have us screaming at the TV... The game looks closer than it is. Panic will ensue... The fire Babich threads will be prevalent. Sorry guys... just where I am at... -
I feel like Jets over Stillers.... I think Aaron Glenn may have something for Mr Rodgers.... then the Jets will implode, but this one.... I think is personal for a player or two on that team... Pitts O line is not wonderful either....
-
and I 100% agree
-
He blocks, comes up with a clutch catch, stays in his lane, but from what I see I appreciate him for being a great teammate and leader.

Gabe Davis signing with the Bills (going to practice squad)
JP51 replied to Dablitzkrieg's topic in The Stadium Wall
I have zero problem with this... using a practice squad for depth with familiarity fine... making him our number 2 receiver, I have a problem... unless he performs like it... but brining him in as a guy if we have injuries... not sure whats negative about that... like whats gonna happen? He is gonna move Samuel from 4 to 5 assuming he isnt the one that is injured.. -

I just cant do it... all of these predictions seem reasonable... I for my own sanity cant leave... 1 game at a time mode... just take one game at a time... but I will give some NFL thoughts Chiefs - I don't see the overall feeling the Chiefs will be appreciably worse... I get some in their division got a bit better, I get they won some close games, but thats what winners do... they return Mahomes, Reid, and Jones... they may not be the one seed, and they may not win 15 games... but I don't see them being dethroned in the division.. Ravens- straight up they scare me, maybe they shouldn't come play off time, but they do... worry about our defense in the regular season especially, colder weather and conditions have proven to be an equalizer in the winter months, I like our chances better in the post season than the season opener... that may not be a bad thing and that division they play in is brutal... they better sweep the Browns... Patriots - Vrabel and his discipline I think will prove to be a positive combination for them... they play within themselves and consistently. Maye as a QB benefits from this as I think he is gonna be a pretty good QB, but Vrabel will keep him grounded in the consistent fundamentals this will bode well for his development as he wont be allowed to play hero ball... Between the Stillers and the Pats for the 7th seed... we have a very good chance of splitting this season series... Dolphins - either they completely implode and Grier and McDaniel lose the room and there are firings mid season OR they surprise everyone, Tua stays healthy and they actually are competitive and something to worry about at least in the regular season... My bet is on the tire fire for the record. Jets- Justin Fields isn't it, they have enough to go 5 or 6 wins... lose out on a top 5 pick and are still looking for a QB... Stillers - Rodgers could set this team alive they have a nice supporting cast and they have gotten some weapons... if he stays healthy I see a team that could get to 9 or 10 wins again... I like them being able to compete with the Ravens... but alas... Rodgers I don't think makes it a full season and they probably are out or a rd 1 exit Bengals - I have no idea what to make of these guys... literally... no idea. My hunch is that they are 2nd in the division and 5 or 6 playoff seed. But geez, they can be a mess when they want to... Jacksonville, Chargers, Broncos - arrow up - I think Lawrence, Herbert come back to the land of the competent, you can win with this quy at QB... not necessarily elite but pushing that level... Nix I wonder about a bit of a sophomore slump, but that Defense is gonna keep them in games and give him the ball alot. Colts, Raiders, Browns -arrow down. all searching for a QB, Raiders with a new coach wondering about his relevance in todays NFL and the Browns are just a mess... Texans, Titans - neutral I see about the same from them this year... I see the Texans winning the division but not a superbowl threat, Titans gonna lose alot more than they win... Titans seem to lack a direction or even identity, they may win a game or two more but they are a ways from relevance. Bills - I will leave it at, Capable of winning it all... will their coaching and their defense allow it... stay tuned.

ESPN predicts Bills win Super Bowl…and I agree

Thats awesome... for me I am staying grounded... one game at a time..
