  1. The #3 QB spot is for a young (cheap) guy with potential, not an aging ( costly) vet who's best days are behind him
  2. Pro Football Weekly had Ko Simpson rated the 5th best safety in the draft. They slated him to go 2nd or 3rd round. Donte Whitner was rated the #1 safety & slated to go in the 1st round. Since he was slated to go in the same round he was selected in, how can you say he was slated to go much later than he was selected?Simpson on the other hand was slated to go 2nd or 3rd and was drafted in the 4th. The bottom line is I think there were more than a few teams that were suprised and pissed that Whitner was gone when there turn to pick came up. PFW had Whitner on the Hot list to draft for: the Falcons, Bengals, & Patriots.
  3. GREAT post! I could not have expressed my feelings about Holcomb any better.
  4. I just watched the Bills-Jets game from last year today. I had TIVO'ed it, but could not bring myself to watch it untill today. Holcomb looked like CRAP in that game. I don't know why he was not cut before training camp started based on that game alone.
  5. I am just happy the Fins have the "genius" this year. I hope he pulls Ronnie Brown on 3rd down in favor of Sammy Morris.
  6. The writing is on the wall for Holcomb. If he is not #2 he will be cut. The #3 is always a young guy with potential.
  7. He is "hated" because when given the opportunities to start he played like a big piece of CRAP.
  8. Not me... I'm not staring at commercials I'm either getting a beer or getting rid of one.
  9. And I wonder how great a receiver he would have been without Montana & Young throwing the ball to him. Where would he be if he had say... Holcrumb throwing him the ball.
  10. Why bring up Rosco Parish? Wasn't he drafted by the previous regime? I hope he turns out to be a player, but judging by this years draft I think if Marv was in charge of the previous draft it would have been totally different.
  11. Tampa Bay has been critisized by the media for taking Davin Joseph in the first round instead of Justice. The Bucs had inside knowledge on Justice, having hired two former USC coaches, and a current USC coach is the son of a Bucs coach. The Bucs did not want Justice period, and felt the only Tackle with first round talent was D'Brickashaw Ferguson. Finally in my opinion, the Bucs have done much better at evaluating talent than Philly.
  12. Tim Anderson was not in a defense that fit him untill this year. I think he will do much better in this new Bills defense. It sure looks like Marv has not gone senile just yet. He not only had what will prove to be a great draft, but he just may have hired the best coach the Bills have had since .............. Marv Levy
  13. According to Pro Football Weekly Draft Guide; Kyle Williams-The way we see it: Does not have great measurables but plays much bigger than his size and warrants comparisons to Vikings 2000 FIRST ROUND pick and currant Buccaneers DT Chris Hovan. A rolling ball of butcher knives, he will slap and push around anything in his way to get in the backfield. A throwback, old school tough guy who needs to play in a penetrating, upfield attack where he is on the move. 2006 Draft projection - 3rd round That is who Kyle Williams is - not the next Sapp ( not Sape you idiot) but the next Hovan
  14. Holcomb is just plain terrible. I think 80% of Bills fans will agree with that. I don't think he should be cut because of a potential mutany, he should be cut because he sucks, and has no potential to get better. It is not like the Bills are contending for the Superbowl this year, I think most of us agree on that. We therefore do not need an aging vet, with no upside, who could possibly win a game or two if needed. Last year Tampa Bay had a much better team than the Bills do this year. They did not go for the aging no talent vet for a back up. Gruden chose three young guys to back up Brian Griese- Chris Simms, Tim Rattey, & Luke McCown. Tampa Bay found the future QB of the Bucs when Griese was injured & Sims took over. The Bucs drafted Bruce Gradkowski in the 6th round because Gruden loves his potential. If any of you cought the Jets - Bucs game Gradkowski looked like a 1st round pick (I don't think Pennington had a completion longer than 10 yards). There was speculation in todays newspaper that Rattey would soon be cut or traded ( He looked decent against the Jets - better than Pennington in my opinion). My opinion for what it is worth, is the Bills should go with Nall as a back up if they feel he has potential, or if not trade for Rattey or another young QB with potential to back up JP. There is no point in keeping Kelly on this team, the cap hit can't be that great - he was signed as a back up & the Bills have plenty of cap space.
  15. Without calls from the Refs "the tuck rule, ......" & Adam Vinateri The Pats would have been also rans.
  16. God I hope they cut him. Tampa has Dumbo Feidler, Tim Rattey, & Gradkowski behind Chris Sims. They are sure to cut one of them, whoever it is would be a HUGE upgrade to KH (Rattey is the most likley cut I think.)
  17. I'm with you. Many thought the Bucs were going to take Justice, and thought the Bucs reached when they took guard Davin Joseph instead. It is funny if you read articles about the Bills or Bucs all you have to do is insert one name or the other. " The --- reached for this player and could have gotten him much lower than they picked him." Both were the top player at there position & who knows if either team would have gotten the player they wanted had they moved down.
  18. WE will be better than the Fins because #1 They have Mularkey. #2 We don't have Mularkey. #3 They have Ft Benny. #4 We don't have Fat Benny.
  19. If you are saying Adelphia charges under $35/ month that is a great deal. Down here Comcast charges over $60/ month for basic cable, and so far they do not have the NFL Network. Verizon is going to offer service soon, can't wait to see what they have to offer.
  20. Ian Beckles, played right guard for 7 years in Tampa, and a couple in Philly has a talk show in Tampa. He said he would much rather face a big fat DT than a lighter, more athletic one.
  21. A couple high school kids just died down here during football practice. The key thing with heat is hydration. The Bucs, Jags, & Fins all make sure their players get plenty of Gatorade & do not push a player if they are dehydrated.
