The Chiefs get so much help from the league that they don't even need. That probably pissses me off more than anything.
The Ravens are frauds and will continue to be but the Chiefs look scary good if Rice avoids a suspension this season. They utilize their talent/specific skill sets better than any team in the league
Shakir is a legit good player and I think his strengths fit Bradys schemes. Is he going to be a guy who puts crippling fear into every defensive coordinator and is the focal point of the gamelan? Most likely not. But I see a big season ahead.
Injuries haven't helped. I know that's lame but it's reality. I also think Reid/Spags have coached circles around McD (and all teams) in the playoffs. That plus a generational QB in Mahomes makes it pretty dang tough. And yes, our top players have not stepped up other than Allen.
The window isn't closed. But it might not be quite as wide
Went to a Georgia game once and a drunken me heckled him while he was going through warmups. Don't remember exactly what I said but it was something about how he wasn't good enough to play in the SEC. He ended up coming over to talk to me and told me when he's in the NFL he'll get me tickets and I can say all that to him again. Need my tickets Lewis
I'm 5'9 160 lbs 34 years old but I'll take a spot if they need it. Darren Sproles esque
Outside of me:
Shavers, Hardy, Gore, White, Davidson Cline, Ankuo, Gouriage, Dean, Couch
I don't mind Cordington over Hardy at all. Although if he was that good, I can't believe the Jets would essentially give him away to a division rival. I'm just a draft geek and I'm so tired of cutting picks every year, especially for guys like Toohill.
If we have to turn to Mike White for more than a few quarters, we are done. But if he can give some intel on the Jets and Dolphins, I'll be happy to have him
Gore got banged up in the last game too. I'd be surprised if a team would claim him but maybe the whole bloodlines thing would appeal to a rebuilding team lacking RB depth such as the Vikings, Saints, Giants, etc
Zappe is a guy I'd be fine with throwing in the game if your QB went down with an injury in the 2nd quarter and let his adrenaline carry him through. But he's not a guy I'd want starting the next week. He seems like an in-game backup but not your actual 2nd stringer if that makes sense.
The thing about keeping a guy like Hamler is would he actually be claimed by anyone? To me he seems like a cut and practice squad guy who you call up early if Hardy is indeed hurt and then move on. I just have a hard time using a 53 man spot on him.
