This is a big one. A win or draw and they advance. A loss and things get iffy. This, in my opinion, is exactly the kind of game that will show what the USA is made of. Guatemala is a quality opponent and this game means a lot. In order to progress, the USA needs to show they can distinguish themselves from the rest of the 2nd tier CONCACAF nations. The conditions will be ideal in Kansas City tonight. There won't be any excuses. Pro-US crowd. Good field conditions. The Klinsmann honeymoon is over. I think the result of this game will be a good indicator of where this team really stands.

Today is a day.

Look how easily you’re bought out. One little slice of pie and you’re all like “oh, yessir boss, whatever you say boss.” It’s pathetic. You need to assert yourself. Here’s what you do: Stroll in to the meeting 15 minutes late. Pick up what’s left of the pie, smoosh it in the face of the highest ranking person there and yell, “I don’t think so, fascists!” Then walk out and don’t come back for like 3 or 4 days. I think you’ll find that people start treating you a little differently. With the huge raise you get, you can buy truckloads of pie and have them delivered to the vacation home of your choice.

Strip away all the social conventions, masks, layers of deceipt and repression and you are likely to find, not so much an actualized/enlightened spiritual being, but a primitive infantile selfish monster.
