  1. When Harmon posted those tweets, he knew that Cooks was leaving, but didn't know where he would end up. I suspect he will be at least mildly enthusiastic that he ended up in Buffalo. If all he does for us is give us well executed clear out routes (i.e. "love of the game routes" or team-friendly routes, that will be a big win for us. Elijah Moore should have been able to do that role, but he obviously was not successful at that.
  2. He's taken 422 snaps this year with the Saints. (Olave leads Saints WR with 602 snaps). Khalil Shakir leads the Bills with 436 snaps taken. Cooks main role has been to run clear out routes for the other players (mainly Olave and Shaheed). He's done that very well, and gives full effort, unlike some guys when they know that they aren't the primary read on a play. He's also been playing on a team with a noodle arm QB. A safety has to give him at least some respect - if you just ignore him Josh will find him no matter how far down the field. I think people will be very surprised how much difference he makes to the offense. I wouldn't start him on my fantasy team because I don't think he'll catch a ton of passes, but the offense as a whole should look better when he is on the field.
  3. At least in terms of snaps he definitely has been. Total snaps this year (including week 11, when Keon didn't play) 425 - Keon Coleman 392 - Khalil Shakir 223 - Tyrell Shavers 201 - Joshua Palmer 159 - Elijah Moore 151 - Curtis Samuel
  4. Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Jalen Ramsey told reporters on Sunday that Bengals star wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase spit on him during the second half of his team's win over Cincinnati, which led to an ensuing altercation that resulted in Ramsey's ejection. https://www.nfl.com/news/steelers-jalen-ramsey-says-ja-marr-chase-spit-on-him-bengals-wr-denies-accusation Video shows that Chase DID spit
  5. Playing with tempo requires you to put your best 11 on the field and keep them on the field for the whole drive. You can't have mass substitutions on every play, because then the defense must have the opportunity to make their own subs. But not allowing the offense to sub takes one of the joysticks away from the OC, and we can't have that. Plus our best 11 is 13 personnel, which with Kincaid out has to be 12 or 22 personnel. It's stone age but it can work. I remember an AFL playoff game, Raiders-Chiefs, and the Chiefs ran out of the straight T formation the entire game and threw only 2 passes. The weather was fine that day, so it's not like that was the excuse - they just decided to pound the rock and it worked. Might not work week in and week out, but against a banged up defense like the Dolphins had it should have been dominant.
  6. I've been wondering if keeping Cook out on passing downs might also be part of the strategy to keep him fresh. He's a shifty back so doesn't take too many square up hits where he plows into a LB or DT - more glancing blows. In pass protection, you need to square up, stand you ground and take on a LB or Safety with a head of steam, which can be a more violent collision. If actually out in the pattern not as much of a concern, but in pass pro it adds to wear and tear. And it's not a touch, so for fans it doesn't count but for the player it still is violence.
  7. sure wish we had 2 games left to play against them
  8. A fair price for Shaheed would have been a single fifth. This was an overpay for a guy like him. I did want him but I can see not paying that much. Plus if either Palmer or Davis gets back to full health we might not need him as bad.
  9. Anybody on the Commandoes worth pursuing? Their season is basically over with after losing Daniels. Scary Terry not a realistic option with the new contract he just signed.
  10. I agree. Really, going into Sunday I viewed this as a must-win for both teams. The Chiefs didn't win, and now they are 2 games behind Denver for the division. Yes, they can still sweep the Broncos since they play them twice, but if they split the two game they are very unlikely to win the division. And if we somehow end up in a tie breaker scenario with the Chiefs, we have that advantage too. Most of the pre-game hype focused on the regular BILLS-CHIEFS and ALLEN-MAHOMES angle, and not on the playoff picture as it stood on Saturday.
  11. It's not just that there are injuries, but when the injuries happen. In-game injuries are extremely hard to work around. Same goes for any late-season or playoff game injuries, even if they advance to the next round. If the backup has 3 or 4 games to ramp up before it really counts they can learn from their mistakes and maybe not be as good as the guy they replaced, but not so bad that they are a liability. As much as it sucks to lose Hoecht now, it would suck much worse to lose him in week 18. And lately for the Bills, we seem to have regular late-season or playoff in-game serious injuries.
  12. Pacheco leads the Chiefs with 329 rushing yards this season. Mahomes is second on the team with 280. Justin Fields leads the NFL QBs in rushing with 288 yards. Mahomes is second in the leage with 280. Today he had 5 yards rushing and also took 3 sacks. The Bills did a masterful job of keeping him contained.
  13. I don't think it's possible for them to have an "identity", where they run what they want to run every week and beat you with it. They need to change it up each week based on the opposition. "Everybody eats" shouldn't apply within a single game, it does apply across the entire season. One week it's Kincaid, another it's Shakir, another Palmer, another Coleman. Any given week somebody should be the primary focus, but it shouldn't be the same guy every week.
