Nick Bosa signs - 5 years, $170 Million
BeavercreekBillsFan replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
This. Qb, LT, and DE. These are the most important positions. I’m sure around 10 pm Monday everyone on here will be screaming in the game thread that “Rodgers looks to comfortable back there” and “why can’t we beat this crap o line?!” while JAGs like Epenesa and Lawson struggle to get home. Von would change that. Guys that wreck games are worth every penny. The Niners know this. He’s going to line up next to Hargrave and Armstead and No QB this year will be safe. -
Caleb Williams - unreal player (and who will get him?)

100% all this. I’ve actually wondered what it would take to pry Donald away from them lol -

All things I’ve been saying in this thread as well. The rams will only be favored in the 2 cards games, that’s it. Maybe the colts game too. WSH and GB will be favored and rightfully so after Kupp is shut down and stafford too. Agree on Houston. When that trade happened I thought it was a misprint then and it’s even worse now. Even if Houston gets pick #3, Arizona will still get Caleb and Harrison jr because whoever is at 2 presumably will need a qb and will take maye. What a move Arizona pulled off. -

Look at their schedule. 4 wins is their ceiling in my opinion both based on rosters and also them tanking. Besides the 2 cardinals games, the only other games they could win might be against the colts and commanders. -

Cardinals are getting the top pick but my point was that the rams are tanking too and are AWFUL. MCvay mentioned today kupp might go on IR. Like I said in this thread earlier, I don’t think they’ll play him this year. They’re going to tank too. Playing the somehow-even-worse cardinals though will cost them 2 losses and the overall top pick. -

Don’t be shortsighted though. He’s the best DE in the league. He commands attention at that position which frees up Armstead and now Hargrave to go to work. His value is off the charts and hard to measure. I’d be thrilled if the Bills have him. Outside of qB and maybe LT, having a guy that can consistently crush the qB especially on money downs is worth every penny. -

That logic applies to 31 other nfl franchises where QB is the most important position. The Niners are one of one though, no other team is like them. QB is like the 15th most important position on the team. Once they got CMC for basically pennies, the qb spot became even less important for them. As long as a qb can be accurate on slants and hitting other wide open targets, the shanahan system will thrive. It’s insane but they can waste a top 3 pick on a qb, give up the farm to do that, and still thrive with the last pick in the draft at the helm. Their weapons are far and away the best in the league and the defense somehow got that much better with Hargrave in the mix. People say a rookie qb contract is the most valuable thing but actually the Niners have the advantage over everyone else because they can put anyone back there and their YAC monsters will win them games. It’s unreal but they keep going back to the NFC title game every year. -
Hope you’re right. That’s a lot that has to change and go right for things to go our way this time around.

OT…Now the Jets are the 85 Bears
BeavercreekBillsFan replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
Jets will be a top defense but not even the best defense in the league this year, let alone the 85 bears. The Niners are far and away the best this year and they added Javon Hargrave somehow. Plus they get 4 weeks off to pad their stats against the cardinals and rams while they’re actively tanking. Lol -
I figured this is what you meant too. We are aligned. I hope we are wrong but I fully expect everyone in the game thread on Monday to be screaming at our o line while josh is running around crazy to avoid free rushers and Spencer brown continues to whiff. Probably going to be a lot of “why isn’t anyone getting home and hitting Rodgers” too.
-
Our O line is better than theirs, at least on paper. My issue is that I trust their o line to handle our d line more than I trust our o line to handle theirs if that makes sense. We don’t have dogs on our d line without Von that take advantage of bad o lines. I expect Rodgers to have a frustrating amount of time to hit targets while I’m just hoping Josh’s elbow remains in tact this time around against them.

This. I keep hearing 12 personnel but “you are what the defense plays you as.” You run 12 to try to get the defense to match you and then you exploit that from an offensive standpoint. Problem is that Kincaid isn’t a great blocker and we are a passing team so teams are going to still play nickel until we come out of our comfort zone. Every time josh turns around and hands it off, that’s a win already for the defense and a loss for us. Unless we decide to become a run heavy team, no reason for the jets to come out of nickel. Just because we put 2 TEs out there, doesn’t mean teams have to match that way until we prove we can change our ways. Someone said we need to run quicker and shorter routes and while that sounds good in theory, how do we do that? Diggs is going to be doubled, and sauce has Gabe. Gabe isn’t any good in the short area of the field anyways. So Kincaid has to win his matchup and cook needs to be involved too in some capacity. Jets always gives josh problems. They kill our o line with just 4 and then take Diggs away. That’s how we always lose in the playoffs too. Kincaid and cook have to be huge in order for us to win.

Caleb Williams - unreal player (and who will get him?)
BeavercreekBillsFan replied to RobbRiddick's topic in The Stadium Wall
How are they “too talented” other than an aging stafford, hurt kupp, and a 1 man defense? Go look at their roster. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a team with more UDFAs, etc. Go look at their schedule, they’re likely to start 2-8 at best before they get to play the other team tanking in Arizona. I think kupp and stafford get shut down after that. As someone else mentioned, there’s more than 1 qb in this draft and the rams actually finally have a 1st rounder this year so they got their chance now to replace stafford. -

Couple thoughts.. Thank God he’s going to an NFC team where no other quality QBs seem to exist outside of Hurts. It’s incredible the bad luck we’ve had where we get our QB finally and then so does every other AFC power. Arizona announced they were tanking at the draft in April with that genius trade with Houston. They get 2 bites at the #1 pick with that move. They really could get Caleb and Harrison Jr. Kyler isn’t playing this year. They’ll trade him for sure but NBA teams do this too.. sit your best player and tank. Kyler will cost them losses so you can’t play him. He’s a bum anyways. The rams will try to lose also so I don’t think we’ll see much of kupp this year either. Their problem is they have to play Arizona twice this year and someone has to win. Unfortunately for them Arizona is just worse, but not by much. This is also why if you haven’t put money on the Niners at +10.5 wins, you’re throwing money away. They have their bye week plus essentially 4 more byes built in with their auto-wins against 2 teams actively tanking. -

Exactly. It’s a Reddit joke -
Nick Bosa Trade Rumor (Unnamed AFC Team)
BeavercreekBillsFan replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is hilarious. He’ll be signed back to the Niners by the end of the week. His best chance to win a ring is with them. They budgeted for him. Chris Jones and Christian Wilkins will all do the same. -
Doesn’t mean he’s good
-
Best LT, best RB, stud WRs, top TE, best DE and MLB in football. Stud corner in award and safety in Hufanga. Not to mention Hargrave and Armstead on in IDL. No one else has that many blue chippers.
-
And don’t forget lighting his 3rd rounders on fire every year with garbage like Bernard.
-
Shanahan (and lynch) also has the best roster in the league by a MILE. He also worked deals to get the best LT and RBs in the league for pennies compared to their worth.

Chiefs Offense: Good Analysis of their Use of the 1-4 Set
BeavercreekBillsFan replied to Old Coot's topic in The Stadium Wall
It’s amazing that teams don’t simply tag 1 guy to follow Kelce around and then shade to him as well. Instead you think it’s good to simply leave him wide open? You forget he was on the field and Mahomes looks to him every time? Jesus. The part that really angers me is look at that pocket for Mahomes. Notice he’s not running for his life as soon as the ball is snapped. One team prioritizes their QB, the other doesn’t. Unreal. -
Bills @ Bears Game Day Thread?!?!?!?
BeavercreekBillsFan replied to EmotionallyUnstable's topic in The Stadium Wall
Also because we don’t prioritize offensive line play unfortunately -
This. Imagine the shape our team and roster would be in if we had made the same mistake.
-
They didn’t lose their qB. They also lost their backup QB too. Fair criticism. No doubt he blew the Falcons game. I’ll never forgive him for that either. Giving Brady another undeserved ring. Hard to lay the chiefs game on him. Defense caved against Mahomes and Jimmy missed an open pass to win the game.
