Because that’s the game environment you’re going to be in. You should practice in the conditions that you will play in. It is for this same reason that the Bills cranked up the heat in the field house to prepare for Miami games. It is for this same reason that Belichick would bring the 6 time Super Bowl champion Patriots outdoors and pour water on the balls and make them practice in that. Practicing in conditions opposite of what you will play is logically unbound. Footing is different on a frozen field. Ligaments do not stretch as much. Entire plays that work in good weather, don’t always work in bad weather, because they rely on speed that doesn’t exist in cold weather. etc. The greatest coaches of all time understood this and would make their team practice in the conditions they play in. Including Parcells, Belichick, Landry and Lambeau.

I respect Lamar for this take. It’s always bothered me to a small degree how close Bills players are too players of other teams. The hugging after the game, etc. I miss the bitterness of the 80’s and 90’s when teams truly hated each other.

Agreed. I don’t think we are going to see the Ravens offense whither just because it’s cold. That being said, I thought it was funny that Harbaugh wouldn’t let them practice outside this week because the field was frozen. What does he think is going to be the conditions on Sunday? He did leave the exterior doors on their indoor practice facility open though.

We rarely punish QB’s when they run. It’s one of my biggest gripes with our defense. I would be instructing our runners to level Mahomes, Lamar, etc when they run. I’ll take the 15 yard penalty a few times. I’m not worried about them retaliating and trying to level our tank of a QB. If anything, i’d be more worried about tendons and ligaments in cold weather (they become more stiff and have less ability to stretch).

Tackling that freight train known as Derrick Henry is going to suck in cold weather.

Easier said than done, but we also simply need to score every time we have the ball. If we can put Baltimore into a quick 14 point hole, it will be tough for them to continue running over and over and over again.

Not exactly the type of weather that makes guys inclined to want to tackle a 250 pound running back. Hurts more when it’s cold. Guys gotta come amped up and stay that way.
