  1. You should see his tape from the Super Bowl. Brutal. His get-off from the line was slow and there were entire plays where Mahomes was running around and Kelce just stood there. Its probably in the Bills best interest that he keeps playing.
  2. Turns out he BARELY won the MVP. Only got 60% of the votes. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/jalen-hurts-got-12-of-20-super-bowl-mvp-votes
  3. your lack of knowledge of the subject is preventing you from understanding what you’re arguing. Press man can be played in zone or straight man coverage. Read the OP again.
  4. Yeah that’s what I said. No they weren’t. We barely played press at all. Eagles ran a mix of zone and man. With a ton of press and bail technique (which counts as zone in statistics but is actually a mix of zone and man). Id like to believe that, but Benford played the first drive where the Chiefs walked down the field with ease.
  5. Then you should re-watch the game. Because the defense won it.
  6. Chris Jones should have been last years MVP. I'm fine with Hurts winning this years MVP, but I honestly think half of the QB's in the NFL could have won that game yesterday.
  7. This was before the game. Turns out having Patrick f'ing Mahomes only made matters worse.
  8. Are any of you bothering to read what I actually wrote, or just making up stuff in your head to respond to? I never said the Bills played soft-zone. Ever. Like... it didnt happen. You created a complete strawman.
  9. That’s what this is all about. The Eagles pressed the Chiefs receivers. This gave Mahomes no quick outlet. He couldn’t throw those quick slant passes, because there was a guy jamming his receivers in their face. Sometimes they bailed into zone after the press, other times they stayed man. But the key was that the initial press TOOK AWAY Mahomes quick passes. It made him hold the ball. And that gave their excellent d-line more time to get to him.
  10. Not even close to the Bills normal defense. We don’t play press (maybe 15 plays all year). I’ll see if I can add that counter feature to EinsteinFootball.com
  11. Great observation, but you may have to explain this for some people. this was happening a lot of the time they were running zone. and went run correctly, it really gives the benefit of both man and zone.
  12. Much worse. Mahomes actually played well despite Tampa’s pressure. He played awful yesterday.
  13. “soft man” says nothing of pressure. It means the corners played off the receiver. You have no idea what you’re talking about.
  14. Yeah that’s not accurate, unless they’re counting only deep backfield. The Eagles ran a ton of zone and man in the same play, which NeztGen is probably counting as zone only.
  15. They did a mix. They literally ran man and zone in the same play. And as the OP says, on key downs they went press man. Watch the 3rd and 4th downs.
  16. Tell us that you didn’t actually read the post without telling us…
  17. ah, yes, I meant to mention that too. That was key as well.
  18. We ran the same exact defense both times. Chiefs were ready for it the second time.
  19. Yes. And sometimes seemingly mid-play. But every time a key down came, they were running press man.
  20. You keep saying this but provide ZERO proof for it. The fact that they accepted the Bills deal means that the Bills had the best offer. Obviously. Since they wouldn’t have accepted the Bills offer if they had a better offer. You assume that a team below us trades to KC and you assume a team below us doesn’t take him before KC can trade up. It’s just a bunch of assumptions. There is zero proof KC gets the player they want if we don’t trade that pick.
  21. That was the most shocking part of last nights game. The Eagles essentially came out and said “everything the Bills did last week, we are going to do the opposite”. Many fans are talking about the dominant Eagles d-line. They’re right. Talent plays a big part. BUT, part of the reason they looked SO dominant last night is because of the scheme the Eagles were running. Instead of playing soft man, like we did a lot last week, the Eagles pressed on nearly every play (where in man or zone) This made the Chiefs old/slow (Kelce/Hopkins) and small (Hollywood/Worthy) have to fight for every yard from the second the ball was snapped. This took away the quick passing game that Mahomes excelled with against the Bills. He HAD to hold the ball, because his receivers needed time to get open because they were being pressed at the line. It was that combination of the Eagles talent on D-Line, AND the coaching scheme making Mahomes hold the ball. It was the completely opposite of what we ran. And it rattled Mahomes something fierce. On the offensive side, they hit the flats REPEATEDLY. This made the Chiefs divert attention to the boundary and opened up the middle of the field for Hurts to run when the LB’s abandoned to cover the flats. It was a beautiful coaching job. Vic Fangio deserves major kudos. I was happy when Miami jettisoned home - he was not the problem there.
  22. There is almost 0 chance that the Bills would have been down 34-0. Bills would have given them a better game, even if we lost.
  23. Some posters claim the Bills didn’t want McDuffie, but the fact that the Chiefs jumped the Bills to grab him is telling in my opinion. Regardless, it looks bad either way. The options are only: 1) The Bills wanted McDuffie and watched as the Chiefs outmaneuvered them. or 2) The Bills wanted Elam over McDuffie, which is a massive scouting blunder.
  24. it was really weird how Beane talked about Coleman at the end of year press conference. Beane typically does not throw players under the bus like he did. That was about as direct as you’ll ever see him.
