  1. Fair point. And I agree. That's not what I said though. At all. My point was, based on the ideology of certain posters and their tendencies to excuse-away anything even remotely critical, EVEN IF a coach were to blare into a megaphone "the player sucks", they still wouldn't believe it.
  2. If a player can't play year 1, then they shouldn't be a 1st round pick.
  3. I'm not even sure we can call it 3 excellent games. Everyone remembers the 2 toe-tap catches in the first half against Indi. But no one seems to remember he only had 1 (ONE) reception the entire second half, in a game that we almost lost. That's no excellent game in my opinion. He has 2 excellent playoff games, 1 mediocre playoff game, and 3 BAD playoff games.
  4. Then you have a very different definition of "clutch" than many of us. If you are not consistent, you can not be clutch. To be clutch, is to be consistent in key moments. So Gabe is "clutch" because of 1.5 good games?
  5. It's impossible to be "clutch" if you're not consistent. It's an oxymoron. Brady was clutch because he was so consistently good at the end of games.
  6. I see you’re new to this team We draft and sign players all the time that we barely use. I still laugh when I think about all the fans who thought we were going to use Breida’s speed to open up the offense. Dude was inactive for much of the year lol. Sure it is. It is essentially a 1 year deal with a team option for a second. Bills could cut him after this season for only a $1.3M deal cap. He is barely in the top 70 of WR contracts. All the players around him (dollar wise) are played on their rookie deal.
  7. The Saints example really isn’t relevant. They weren’t attempting to restructure Clowney and kick the cab down the road, they were simply trying to trade a 2nd round pick for $5M in cash. Which has never been done before in NFL history with a free agent. It was an outlier.
  8. Interesting thought experiment. One could make the argument that this current roster (outside of Allen) is not much better than some of our playoff-drought teams. Put Josh Allen with Lee Evans, Eric Moulds, Travis Henry, Pat Williams, Aaron Schobel, London Fletcher, Takeo Spikes, Nate Clements, Terrence McGee, Lawyer Milloy, etc. I may pick that squad to beat our current team. Or put Josh Allen with Fred Jackson, Sammy Watkins, Robert Woods, Kyle Williams, Prime Jerry Hughes, Mario Williams, Stephon Gilmore, Aaron Williams, Preston Brown, Darby, etc. Thats a playoff squad. Even without Allen they were only 1 game out of the playoffs. But whatever - Beane isn’t the first GM to ride the coat tails of one homerun pick.
  9. My goodness. A coach could grab a megaphone and scream into a homers ear “the player sucks”, and some of you will find a way to make it sound good.
  10. Yeah that's where we disagree. Just because a play or game doesnt work out the way we hope, doesnt mean it's a coordinators fault. Daboll was fired because he had terrible QB's and its practically impossible to overcome that. Very few have. Mularkey's offenses in Pittsburgh were 11th in total TD's scored, 19th in TD's, and 10th in TD's. It was a good offense, but hardly a "top ranked" offense, considering it was only top 10 once and top 5 never. Daboll averaged 45 TD's per season as o-coordinator with the Bills. Mularkey averaged in the 30's.
  11. Couldn't tell by the limited amount of reps the coaching staff allowed him to have.
  12. Any time someone says “I trust Beane”, just remember, Beane thought it was a good idea to sign Saffold to block in our supposed Super Bowl year of destiny.
  13. Nah, Daboll is legit. He proved that when he turned that terrible QB of the Giants into a decent player.
  14. What those clips actually showed is how valuable Brian Daboll is. I forgot how well he would scheme players open. Like night and day from last season.
  15. lol what? GM's get fired all the time for making decisions that the owner allowed or agreed to. Literally every year. Do you think Doug Whaley was making personnel decisions that the Pegulas told him not to? Lol
  16. Only if you agree with the homers. If not, you're just a "contrarian" who knows nothing.
  17. If that is true, then Beane should be fired as he doesnt understand the current NFL. I'm hopeful that Beane doesn't in actuality agree with your assessment.
  18. Already have his brother, and Hines and Murray and Harris.
  19. How many RB's do we need!?
  20. In all practicality, he has been a free agent for over a week. He was given permission to speak to teams.
