  1. Disagree here. The Chargers have as good of a supporting cast around Herbert as there is in the league. Maybe even better than ours when you consider their offensive line. Keenan Allen has consistently been one of the best receivers in the league and Mike Williams is very good. Jared Cook is a decent TE and Ekeler is hands down better than any RB we have. He is at least a top 10 back and one of the best pass catching backs in the league. Their offensive line is probably top 5.
  2. The Defense, OL and RB's are holding us back but at the same time, I would also expect Josh to raise his game to cover up some of those deficiencies. Josh is capable of doing that and has done it in the past but he needs to do it more consistently. This issue is not going to get better considering that Josh will be taking up a huge chunk of the salary cap. IMO, he is a top 5 player in this league and he needs to show it more often than he has this year.
  3. Kind of disagree here. I think Herbert does a great job of staying within the offense and taking what the defense gives him. I watch plenty of his games. Not a lot of hero ball from him.
  4. Assuming this is your order, you can make the argument for Murray, Stafford and Brady to be ahead of Allen but why would Rodgers be ahead of him? Lets not also forget that Josh has sat out for 2 4th quarters because of the blowouts.
  5. I would agree that Josh is probably in the range of 2-4 in terms of MVP favorite and there are several whom can make that claim being Murray, Lamar, Herbert and probably Henry. I disagree that Murray is better. If you look at their numbers, they are on par with Murray having better completion%, passer rating and a few other categories and Josh having slightly more touchdowns and less interceptions and fumbles. What separates them currently is the win/loss record. As for Lamar, I don't think he is playing better, I think because his team is winning and Josh just lost, so your viewpoint is slightly skewed IMO.
  6. I disagree. What made Takeo great was that he was not only a thumper but also a great sideline to sideline linebacker as well. He would put this defense over the top.
  7. Thought so as well when they said the guy with the biggest jump but they just listed Buddha Baker whom went from 97 to 19, which is 78 spots. Allen was 87 last year so he probably came in at number 10, which would be a 77 spot jump.
  8. To be fair here, Herbert is extremely athletic, just like Allen. They are relatively the same height and size. The athleticism, separate from arm talent is on par. What separates Josh from Herbert is his leadership, competitiveness and of course arm talent.
  9. As long as Josh doesn’t get hurt, I think his stats will be on par or better. As good as Josh was last year, he did go a stretch of 4 games that he didn’t play well due to injury. Not to mention this year will be an extra game to pad those stats a bit. If the defense is better, he’ll also get more opportunities as someone else mentioned.
  10. Colin Cowherd has changed his tune quite a bit regarding Josh. When the top 100 came out and Josh was at 88 I think, he ridiculed him for being so high now it’s the opposite. Nice to see those in the media giving Josh his respect. Simms putting Josh number 2 isn’t as much of a hot take as it’s a confirmation to many Bills fan that Josh is really as good as we think he is. Can’t wait to see how he has improved this off-season.
