  1. I think the trauma of watching him receive CPR/AED and possible intubation on the field is a big part of it.
  2. I’m wondering if these guys will be able to play the Pats this weekend? I could see that game getting pushed out to Tuesday to give everybody more time. The college football national championship is on Monday. I mean, these games are on top of each other and they will have practice tomorrow I think for the next week if it were normal circumstances.
  3. Chiefs barely beat the hapless Broncos last week. Russ had the chance for a game winning drive at the end of the game. They aren’t unbeatable. I have to imagine this game will never be played now that it won’t be played this week. I guess it will be a no contest and playoff seeding will go by win percentage.
  4. I think the Bills forfeiting is the best in that scenario, because if KC and CIN lose next week, then the Bills can still be #1 seed.
  5. If all the doctors commenting in threads and on twitter are correct we won’t really know anything until they try to take him off the ventilator which is 24-48 hours. I guess we could get updates if he needs surgery of some sort.
  6. The league will offer the Bills another date to resume the game and it will be up to the Bills to forfeit or play IMO. Other solutions require too many other moving parts.
  7. I mean probably the owners? This is a business and the owners will have to decide amongst themselves along with the NFLPA how to handle it. I doubt screwing 2 owners will be palatable. Not to mention the Pegulas would have to come up with some sort of refund for the whole game.
  8. That would make the Dolphins and Steelers pissed. Pats win and they are in.
  9. That’s wild. There will absolutely be games this weekend regardless of Hamlin’s status. I’m not trying to be callous, that’s just the way it goes.
  10. The Bills didn’t have lodging in Cincinnati. They had to fly home. Why would they stay 2 nights there anyway if it were moved to Wed night? I’m not advocating for it, I just think that is what the NFL is going to push the teams to do.
  11. I think the NFL will do everything in its power to have this game played Wed night. Then they would push Bills-Pats and Ravens-Bengals to Monday. I guess it will depend on if the players/coaches feel able to play by then. We won’t know about Hamlin’s status by then I don’t think.
  12. I think the easy explanation is that their flight doesn’t leave until 1:30am and they don’t have anywhere else to go. Just have to wait for the bus to take them to the airport.
  13. If it is true that he is actually okay and the players can feel assured in that, I wonder if they do the game tomorrow. It would have to be remarkably good news from the hospital to be possible.
  14. This honestly might sink the whole season. Those guys looked straight up traumatized out there. It will be hard to perform at a high level, and I don’t blame them if that ends up being the case.
  15. I wonder if it took time to get police, security, etc set up to have everyone leave. I mean they need all the traffic things set up like at the end of the game.
  16. It was when McDermott was talking to Taylor in the hallway. I think it’s possible they are canceling for now and will figure out the details later.
  17. I just heard someone on ESPN say “tomorrow? Maybe?”
  18. I don’t think he necessarily received CPR for that long. That’s just how long he was down on the field.
  19. How long will they wait? If they don’t get word that he’s at least stable I don’t see how they can play this game.
  20. I don’t know how they can continue playing. Grown men were bawling their eyes out and looked like they were going to puke from shock on the field when they knew they were on national television. They need to cancel or postpone the game.
  21. That seems incredibly bad to me. Wouldn’t they want him there ASAP?
  22. Adam Schefter keeps saying we’ve never seen an ambulance on the field. I can remember 4 instances for the Bills alone. Kevin Everett, Aaron Williams, Dane Jackson earlier this year I’m pretty sure. Difference is those guys got loaded up pretty quick. Not given CPR on the ground like that.
  23. It’s entirely possible that we don’t have to go on the road if we end up with the #2 seed. #1 seed would just have to lose in the divisional round. Happened last year in the AFC…
  24. Even if the Bills know they’ve clinched the #1 seed, I would still play the starters for a half or so. Kind of like vs Miami a couple years ago. Two full weeks off for the starters seems too much.
  25. He had back surgery in the offseason and was barely back in time for the season. That sort of thing can be a career killer.
