It's difficult because what can you say to him? You're going to bench him? Trade him? Fine him? Possibly the latter. The other two options aren't truly there at the moment. Yesterday does feel like a watershed moment. During previous games where he struggled, there have been excuses - particularly a poor O Line and dropped catches. Last night the O Line was ok and, as far as I can recall, no one dropped a catch. This is the first game where there is no mitigation. It is ALL on him. Where does he go from here? Does he bounce back or completely fall apart? Five days to find out.

But I think football comes easier to those who enjoy it, rather than feel pressure and tension. I definitely think Josh is not enjoying it at the moment; could be another reason he seemed to be seeking hits and heroball yesterday; to get the buzz back. He needs to find another way and fast.

There's no reason for Josh to listen to him though. He'll be telling Josh not to do what he himself revelled in doing. The only good thing would be perhaps Fitz could explain his regrets to Josh, and see if that has any impact.

Same could be said of Bengals in the 2022 post season, but Josh was still part of the problem.

Sorry, but have to correct you here. Billl quoted you when you said, "Allen had an overall good game against the Dolphins in the playoffs not great but solid if you go by the numbers.", so the game you're referring to is the Play Off game rather than Week 14, when he was excellent.

I assume the alleged comment was off the cuff, rather than part of an interview.

Dorsey was in the quarterback room at the time so must know that might be needed at some point.

The thing I'm hanging onto is he did. The 2021 post season through to the first half of week eight of 2022 he looked everything we thought he could be based on his physical talent. And then things started to slip though, Bengals aside, never to yesterday's extent. ETA - Actually, even against the Bengals he wasn't as bad as yesterday. At least he protected the ball; was only one TO if I recall correctly.

No, I think I'm wrong. Pegula wasn't present for the meeting where Trotter heard about this. A NFL reporter accused Pegula of saying this during a NFL Media Reporter meeting, at which point Trotter asked what was to be done. But then the question is where and when did he say it plus were there witnesses. Interesting the original reporter is seemingly being kept anonymous at this stage.

To me, this reads as though Trotter was in the room when Pegula alledgedly said the comment so 'heard' it first hand? ETA: No, I'm incorrect. It was a NFL Media meeting, the reporter "quoted" Pegula and Trotter then asked what was to be done.

So Trotter heard it second hand from another reporter? Or Trotter was the reporter Pegula reportedly said it to? Either way it sounds like hearsay, so not sure how it will stand up to scrutiny, and probably why the NFL didn't act. Unless there were other witnesses who were ignored.

The two key for me are that the lawsuit directly quotes Pegula. It doesn't say, "is reported to have said" or "was suggested". He's quoted verbatim. However, Pegula has come out quickly to rebuke the accusation. If Pegula is found out to be lying he will be hauled over the coals and rightly so. If it's Trotter, probably nothing will happen.

If I'm thinking of the right interception, I don't think the read was necessarily a bad one, but the throw was and that's what's led to the turnover. And, of course, Kincaid was a much safer option.

Did the Araiza situation teach you anything? Guess it is still a case of guilty before being proven innocent.

Clutching at straws, maybe 2023 will be 2022 in reverse? Josh starts by struggling, then clicks into gear later in the season. We need it to be the case. We can probably afford him to be a bit iffy for the next month or so, if it means he's at his best around and after the bye.

My only hope is, against the Bengals, it was a case of everyone running out of steam so there was mitigation for the humbling. Maybe he said the right words, but felt it was something a summer away from football would actually solve. No excuse for yesterday, so can only hope it does act as an actual wake up call. My greatest concern is it will make him second guess himself even more. It's a shame Rodgers is in the division and Brady used to play in division as I could otherwise see them being happy to try and help him. But why would they do so when it would potentially be to the detriment of the Jets and Pats?

Josh has to sort himself out first before being able to lead others. I think hesaid once that he doesn't feel like shouting at other players when he makes mistakes himself. He doesn't react to setbacks with calm, cool logic and he isn't one to rail at others. That's his base character and it's not going to change. To do so would be like the two of us suddenly deciding to ditch supporting Bills and cheering for the Phins instead. Who he is is in his blood.

Diggs being emotional is ok but the balance is off between the 'big three'. The Bills need a calm, logical voice within the offense for when mistakes occur and things threaten to snowball. I think Daboll was it and he has not been effectively replaced. This may get a few down votes but I actually prefer Dorsey's playcalling to Daboll's, and what he's trying to do with the offense. But it's not going to work if the quarterback is sprialling and seemingly no one can pull him out of it.
