Like on defense, I’d say the issue is more execution than play calling. I’m not sure how Dorsey is to blame for Josh throwing utterly incomprehensible interceptions in moments that matter? Obviously there are situations where we can say the calling could be better but it’s not the principle reason we lost to either the Jets or the Vikings. Individual mistakes are.

One of the previous managers of the soccer team I support refused an offer to have undersoil heating fitted, using the argument what's the point of having it if the access routes are so dangerous the game would be called off anyway. Similar argument here.

I guess the only grating I have in the back of my head is will he learn? It’s basically three games in a row where he’s made the same mistakes. Hearing him talk it through is nice but words are cheap if nothing changes.

We did the same in the second half against the Packers. It’s as though they were up a ton, by consistently running the ball, and we were chasing the game. If it doesn’t stand out now it never will - we cannot trust Josh’s passing game.

In both cases we beat ourselves rather than we’re beaten. A positive in that we should be able to turn it around, but mentally we don’t look prepared, and haven’t since the second half of the Steelers game.

On the stages of sporting grief I’m currently at anger and it’s twenty to one in the morning here but I can’t shake this albeit controversial opinion… I don’t trust Josh. Physically he’s the best Quarterback in the league bar none. Mentally he’s one of the worst. He’s coming across as having no respect for the ball or the opposition. The picks that he’s throwing are, for the most part, ridiculous. He seems incapable of learning lessons offered in preceding games. He is not a rookie but, more often that not, he plays like one. He could put five hundred yards and 10 touchdowns on the Browns and I still won’t trust him. This hero play is always there, under the surface, and it appears far too often for him to be anything about a thrilling, talented player but with flaws which means he won’t match expectations. I thought he was turning himself around with the run from the Wildcard game to the first half of the Packers, which hurts the most and is probably why I’m so fed up now.

He should have been after the Packers. He should have been after the Jets. Nothing's changed.

We say why don't we get the rub of the green from the refs. We did yesterday, and still managed to mess it up.

True - he switched positions out of necessity due to injuries. I don't think Lewis made a bad play as of such; nine times out of ten he would have come down with the ball. I don't think anyone expected Jefferson to do what he did, Jefferson included. I appreciate what you are saying about the coaching but the difference for me is the defense rectified the error, to a degree, by holding them up on the line. Josh made an error in fumbling the ball and then compounded the error but throwing the interception. And it wasn't a difficult interception or an all or bust throw like the first INT. It was a stupid play in a ridiculous situation.

If Josh didn't throw morinic picks we're 8-1. For all the blame thrown at an injury shredded defense that speaks volumes; in a positive way towards all sides of the ball. That's the most promising and infuriating thing.

Then reveal all or stay quiet. Don't prod the hornet's nest then run away saying he can't say more. Pathetic attention seeking and little more from him.

The defense offered a difficult position but not a horrible position. All Josh had to do was clasp the ball. If he managed it, he failed. Please tell me how the defense were to blame for his interception in over time? I'm dying to know.

This is where I am. OK, he said he played badly in the second half against Green Bay - he'll learn his lesson, fair play. Hmmm, I've heard his post Jets before from him, but at least he's taking the blame like he should. FFS, this is the third week in a row, enough with SAYING that you were bad, Josh, and actually follow up the interviews with actions. If he mucks up again agianst Cleveland in inexcusable circumstances, patience will be running thin. It shouldn't be that difficult to do the simple stuff right and not ram the ball three times in three games right down a defensive player's throat. Sorry, rant over. 😔

Ok, but it goes beyond Lewis’ error as well but there is a real fixation on it.

It’s not just one pass from Josh though, is it? He’s repeated the same mistake three weeks in a row. In comparison, Cam Lewis is not good enough to be on the field for a Super Bowl contender but needs must. He got himself in a good position, did the natural thing of looking for an interception in the heat of the moment and got undone by a fluke play. Yes, others made errors, but Josh made two completely inexcusable ones, even if I let him off the first interception. They’re mistakes you wouldn’t expect a rookie to make regularly. You get paid the big bucks then basic execution should surely be the minimum requirement.

Our defense is always going to have issues when down Hyde, White, Poyer, Rousseau and Edmunds. That’s too many starters for any team to carry. As it is, again, Frasier called up a decent design where we should have got an incompletion. The execution was off. Then, in the final play, Dorsey called up a decent design which left Motor free underneath. The execution was off. Other than not taking the FG over the attempted TD I can’t blame too much on coaching today. With so many players out on defense it was always going to be rough, and the offensive players - particularly Josh - messed the bed when it mattered.

I don’t think you’ve read the memo - it’s all Cam Lewis’ fault.

Our ‘idiot’ DB - basically a 6th round (?) practice squad member against one of the best WRs in the game - got im a great position, did what he thought was right and was undone by a fluke play. Our heroic first round $250m quarterback has, for three weeks in a row, decided the way to win the game is by throwing the ball straight at a defensive player with barely a receiver in sight.

Though he’s the reason we didn’t win in regulation too.
