  1. The 88-94 teams were LOADED with talent at every position group and had a dominant OL, this team can't say that.

The players seem to have the same attitude as most of the fan base in that 13-3 was considered the floor and we were only destined for greater things.  Now the reality that every season is different and you have to be humble, work your asses off, etc. is fully setting in.

But 12 isnt back there and once we upgrade the Oline they wont be a match for us.

I like the confidence, but that upgrading will happen in the offseason.  They upgraded this past offseason, and now have the division lead.  Point being, everybody "upgrades" in the offseason but it only works out for a few teams.

Not worried about Jones but am concerned about Bellycheck scheming a defense against us

They look like they have for the last 2 decades, except at QB.  If 12 were back there with this current team we'd be pretty F'd.

As it stands, we're going to win this Division, no doubt.

Our offense and defense are better but the pats offense is more balanced and their OL is leaps and bounds ahead of ours.  It’s going to be physical. We best bring our A game and some focus.

Realistically, their O-line is better, their backs are better, their TE's are better, WR 2-3 are about equal.  JA and Diggs are in a whole different class than their counterparts in NE which gives us a huge big play advantage.  That's theoretical, realistically JA has played NE 6 times and had 1 good game.

Our offense has been more productive than theirs, but we weren't playing their defense.  Its going to be a tough and awesome game.

  5. The game is for the Div lead, on a Monday night against the Bills 20 year tormentor.... The Stadium will be rockin, no doubt about that.  The team will feed off the crowd.

The only thing that could derail that atmosphere is if NE is able to jump out to a big early lead, the chances of which are slim.  Anything is possible, like winning the lottery, but I expect the Bills to be more than up for this one.

I expect the NE defense to hang in and not get rattled, its their offense that will struggle.  It will be a tug of war with the Bills getting a few points here and there until they finally hit a big play, then its bye bye.  Although I can see a scenario where that is the only game NE loses for the rest of the season.  It's unlikely, but it wouldn't surprise me at all based on what I've seen this season, how they look, and how similar they look to almost every season the last 2 decades.  I expect them to win a close one against TN next weekend, which helps us.

68-76, actually. You may be forgetting to include the first 4 games of 2016 (they went 3-1) and also the fact that while Brady started game one of the 2008 season, he went down early in the first quarter with the score tied 0-0. They won that game with Cassel. Perhaps more importantly, he is 27-19 since 2008 without Brady.

Way too much is made of his time in Cleveland 25-30 years ago.  Its emphasized in an attempt to distort the record to pretend he's overrated, while at the same time ignoring what he did as the assistant head coach/DC under Bill Parcells.  That resume includes 2 SB wins, shutting down Joe Montana (the previous GOAT) and the K-gun, a SB loss with the Patriots to the Packers all star team, and also getting the late 90's Jets to the AFC Championship game and almost winning it.

To me, saying he's overrated is an easy way to look like a Homer.  His resume dwarfs any other coach, including his mentor Parcells and rival Don Shula.

Bro, that question was directed under the other dude i quoted. misunderstanding..... as for everything else. This basically all hinges on you thinking they are quite a bit better than i do i guess.... i think that by seasons end they're battling to just get in the dance. I'll glady bring them to town.

I think odds are we'd beat them, no argument there.  I'd just rather play someone else for all the marbles... Allen has faced them 6 times, and had one good game, thus my concern over facing a divisional opponent a 3rd time.  I would much rather see a warm weather team have to travel up here and experience Orchard Park in the middle of Winter.

..... also. was it you that said the jets would blow us out?

lol WHAT?  Hell no.  You keep harping on the rookie, my point is facing Belichick for a 3rd time in the same season when he's got 2 full games worth of film. Its not that we're destined to lose in that scenario, just that I don't like the scenario to begin with.  I'd much rather have an opponent that isn't familiar with us to begin with and that didn't spend the draft and FA building a team designed to exploit our weaknesses.  Copy?  Divisional opponents always have the potential to give you the toughest test.

@PatsFanNH, I will say I was more impressed than I expected I would be with Jones' composure and handling of a pressure packed moment against his predecessor--he also delivered some good throws along the way, no question. However, playing in the same division as Allen will be hard to ever overcome with regularity, as I think Allen will maintain a higher overall performance ceiling. I know it's early, but unless Mac turns into Brady...

I think Jones is more like Garoppolo, which is still like Brady but without the "clutch" gene.  😁

I could be wrong, because a lot of guys could be like Brady with the Bucs personnel around them.  That's a ridiculous wealth of talent and skill on that team right now.

First UGH on LeBron James. (I don’t like him at all lol)  Again making that judgement based off of the protection he has been given so far isn’t fair.  I mean that’s like saying what Allen would be based off of 4 pro games.

If Folk's kick was 10" to the right we are having a totally different conversation.  I thought it was a great game and I find myself enjoying the game more when I don't care who wins.  Tampa did what great teams do, they find a way to win the tough ones and walk out with the win.

Hoodie and Mullet had a pretty impressive defensive game plan, fun game to watch.

  11. Awesome.... I hope the weather is good and Allen throws it all over the place to start off on a high note.

(random thought) Speaking of high note... Every outdoor event I've been to this Summer in NY State has smelled like a weed fest, now that its legal.  I hope the Bills home games aren't ganje parties.  The smell is pervasive, even at the State Fair.

They reported that the 3 reasons Cam was released was

    1. COVID

    2. Jones out played him

and 3. he(CAM) did not really impressed them all that much

and geez, if he could be half of Brady i would love that....their receivers (or lack of..) worry me, and i don't see BB really putting an effort into upgrading, or even knowing how to do that.

I think he's half of Brady, looked like it in the pre-season.  He threw well under duress, threw accurately and ON TIME.  That impressed me a lot.  Just watched this: FIRST TAKE | Adam Schefter "BREAKING" Patriots release QB Cam Newton; Mac Jones will start at QB - YouTube
