i tried to find the larger thread about tv shows that are worth watching, but couldn't find it. If anyone else can find the bigger thread feel free to merge it I know Lilyhammer has its own thread, but the new season is out on Netflix now Jan 12, the new seasons of Shameless and Episodes start on showtime. I am really glad they are doing another season of Episodes, it is a very entertaining show and Matt Leblanc is really funny in it. Shameless just makes you feel so dirty afterwards but William H. Macy is so good in it(like everything else he does.) I am also looking forward to the new season of Cougar Town, I really enjoy that show, I know a lot of people here think its a stupid mindless show, but i am a big fan.

its a serious threat here in the philly area, i luckily narrowly avoided a huge ship the other day, with this book, i would have been much more prepared.

My guess is it's a 'whistling in the dark' technique... Rather than show the dark scares you you whistle to put your own mind at ease...his 'bah' probably was his defense mechanism to prevent a flood of tears...but I could be wrong...he's been known to be a bastard

SRV may have done them better, if that is even possible...but why pick one over the other, they are both incredible

i actually just watched "CaptainDisillusion's" debunk of it...pretty cool and seems the 'prestige' was way more complicated than the trick itself...still pretty cool

i am sure there is some slight of hand going on here, i haven't read any of the comments yet, but its still pretty cool

this....i graduated from a school of 4,000 (liverpool high school) and never had the size or ability to be a high school athlete, but that didn't stop me from being active in other things and gathering a very large group of friends and acquaintances, many of whom I am still in touch with 30+ years later.

well i think the original premise is more fun...there are too many instances of someone taking an obscure song and putting their own twist on things, heck, Counting Crows just did a full CD of other peoples music. The thread as is, taking an established 'hit' and re-making it, that is a challenge for bands, to either copy it as close to the original or, like in the case of All Along The Watchtower, put their mark on it and make it a 'new' song...hell Clapton did it to himself with Layla, the original version and the MTV Unplugged version. I prefer the original thread idea.

Ok, I'll bite...I'm an REM fan, Superman was a cover or are you saying someone since has covered that song. I'm not familiar with either scenario... Well I'll be....just looked it up....I had absolutely no idea. I've never heard the original and have never heard it was a remake....1130pm and I learned something new...I guess it was a good day!

What's wrong with coverage of a nice act? Hell I crowed about my trip to the food bank last week...I did it in hopes that maybe one person saw it and decided to go to their local food bank. Maybe she/they hope that someone pays their act forward after seeing this. Don't hate on people for doing good deeds...one day they may get sick of reading the hate and decide to not give stuff away. I prefer a world where people do good things whether its publicized or not.
